an opinion is one thing but trolling is another he said nothing that had anything to do with the topic he just posted to most likely upset people who like the cars....

I'm not trolling, I'm just stating my opinion.

I've seen all 4 of these cars in real life, and they sound a million times better than they do in the game.

It has everything to do with the topic, last time I checked this is about the Australian cars in the game, which is what I'm posting about, because with the exception of the Subarus these are the only cars I get to see and hear most days of the week.

Anyway, back on topic;

I haven't driven the GTO yet, but why the hell is it so much cheaper than the Monaro? Doesn't make sense really.

I'm loving my GT more and more! Supercharger really makes it fly. Time to start playing with tyres.

Probably because its so much cheaper in real life aswell, yes it doesnt make sense.

I got the monaro first up. One Glut would love, red with black wheels and a black rear wing but not a 7 litre...
Did you setup yours Radicool? I've got all the oversteer and understeer out of mine but it breaks traction too easily over crests. It has got about 580hp and I'm leaving it at that.
Don't bother with the supercharging alexlees, you get more horsepower with a stage 2 NA tune up. I put a supercharger on a Ram and changed it for a stage 2 NA tune and got heaps more power.
I think they have fixed the problem with the LS1 for us rb26cefiro. It was traced to a problem in the sump. I think I read that with the different shape sump on the engine for the left hand drive cars, the oil was not getting cooled properly which led to the piston problems and the oil consumption. Notice how the US LS1s haven't had the same problem?

Yeh I know it has been fixed, it was due to out of shape bores amongst other things. It was more to shutup the people who felt they needed to bash ford because of a simple clutch failure which is alot easier to fix than a complete run of engines. Consider it part trolling part putting them back in their little box. :D

dont have GT on right now but i think GT is supercharge and F6 is turbo

I hope you aren't refering to reall life and just talking about your ingame cars. IRL the GT Falcon runs an N/A 5.4L V8 no supercharging. They are discussing the release of a GTHO though which will play on the name from the Australian musclecar era and possibly run a supercharged variant of the 5.4L engine.

And now you're going to drive it in the 24hr enduro just to annoy me. You're quite evil :)

The only track your likely to see kangaroos at is bathurst. They'd be scared away by the cars most likely. But Bathurst is an awesome track. Its better than most courses in game except the Ring and Le Mans.

I think Cobra was just joking about how that kangaroo got kinda messed up by that speeding V8 Supercar... now that looked funny! On track kangaroos similar to the animated people from Grand Canyon etc would be funny ****! Except they jump into your path when you approach and get smashed into the air. PD could just modify the traffic cone physics a bit hehe:)! Mwahahaha I am evil.
On topic, I am very dissapointed with the engine sounds of all the Aussie cars... they sound way too buzzy and nowhere near deep and rumbley enough. Oh well GT has a pretty bad rep for getting V8's right, I was expecting a Ridge Racer style engine note anyway, which seems to be the default when they don't have time to sample the sound properly. Lets face it, PD would not have had the funds/time/inclination to drive and get sound samples etc of EVERY single car in the game. I figure the Aussies weren't at the top of their list of important cars to get 'right'. I'm sure the skyline engine notes are perfect. Oh well, maybe next time.

Yep. Bathurst would have been an awesome addition to GT4... Now that would by one hell of a 24 hour race. Bumps and all.

I had a bit of extra cash and bought the 2000 XR8. Man, it's a lot of fun to drive and it's a real handfull around the ring. I'm in heaven. :)

I bought a 69 Camaro and took it for a quick drive before adding some go faster bits and it sounded great but it gets the same buzz as the Monaro I've got. How does the newer Camaros and Vettes sound? With the same engine as the Commodore and Monaro will they get the same crap engine noise?

I could take my red Monaro and kick arse. I am evil aren't I Glut.

I took a silver monaro with sport/hard tyres fitted to it in arcade mode on the ring and pulled a 8:45.3xx. It is a bit tail happy compared to the GTO which i used just before it,the GTO has a better exhuast sound but even though it has a higher redline it struggles to reach it and also the monaro has higher top speed 255km/h vs 245km/h for the GTO,so thats my time for the ring let`s see what everyone can do!

And horrifically unecessary, the le mans race is 24 hours because the actual race in RL is 24 hours, bathurst only lasts like 5...doesnt it?

but if they did bring in bathurst, you reckon you'ld get a 5 second penalty for hitting a kangaroo? hahah

I think the last team got a little more than a 5 second penalty :)

Don't they still run the 24 hour production car race? But yeah, 1000klms would be enough.

I dunno about you but I like it, and with 400hp it's no slouch, beating all the new BMW's, and the new mustang in 0-60 times.

You Aussies have such awesome cars. I'm seriously wanting to move over there just for the cars, I would ditch my Lightning in a heartbeat. :dopey:

One thing though...WTF is up with that kilowatt crap?

How much does petrol cost in Australia? per litre?

It's about 50cents US a litre here

I wonder cos you get all these nice V8s which must cost a fortune to fill up, yet you also have 'euro' type cars like the Barina which do 45mpg

(I'm from the UK originally where we pay about a hundred quid a gallon, and about a hundred quid for a packet of cigs)

How much are ciggys in Aus? Again, about $3 US here.

Petrol here at the moment is about A$1 a litre. changes up or down 10c a litre depending on global market at the time.

and i'll swap you your lightning for my Holden SS anyday!

there is a 24hr sports car race on bathurst - http://www.bathurst24hr.com/
Class A:
For cars complying with the current technical regulations for; Australian Nations Cup – Group 1, FIA Series Grand Touring Cars (N-GT), British GTO, All Japan GT - Group 2, American Grand – Am (GT), Lamborghini Trophy.

There also used to be a 12hr enduro for stock sports cars, hence the creation of the RX7 Bathurst edition.

AU$12 for a 30 pack, doesn't worry me either.

That race isn't on anymore. It was run in 2002 and 2003. In early 2004 the promoter canned the race and the whole series. What was left is now called the Australian GT Championship and has been picked up by the Australian Motor Racing Series (AMRS). They will not be running a 24hr race.

It looks like a pretty solid line up. I will be checking it out at Oran Park and Eastern Creek.

nope, last year a kanga ran across the track, right up near the "dipper" just before forrest elbow leading onto conrod straight. Couple of cars hit it. Stuffed up their bonnet and guard

I said, "Only place you'd see kangaroos is Bathurst". All our other proper tracks are in more inhabited areas. Edit, also I did see it hit the car. It was insane, serious damage. My dad has hit one on the highway and it screwed up the radiator.

It was after the second corner on the way up the hill toward The Cutting and "Jum" was the only driver to hit it. There was however, a Kangaroo jumping across the track just after Forrests Elbow during the 24hr race. It hopped across the track right in front of Martin Shorts Mosler.

Just got a question to all you Aussie enthusiasts. I'm saving up money to purchase a Holden Commodore. How is the car in the game? Any certain tune-ups I should purchase first. Thanks a lot.

Jim

Do you Aussies think kangaroos are cool too, and just play it off like you're used to them? But inside you really think they're pretty neat creatures? So that we think you're cool, because you're totally nonchalant about seeing kangaroos. So seriously, how cool do you think kangaroos are? They're cooler then deer, I know that. But do *you* guys think that...that is the question... Did that make sense?

Wow, I'm freaking ripped...

imo the first thing to get is the 1-way LSD, this makes it much more pleasant to power out of corners.

I've been mostly playing with one that has minimal mods - stage 1 exhaust, chip, LSD, stage 1 suspension and N2 tyres - which reflects the most commonly performed mods done to real Holden Commodore V8s.

The car is still on the heavy side, but the balance is quite nice and I'm able to gently slide into most high speed corners without having to flick into them too much.

A smooth lap around the 'ring with this setup gives a time of about 8:20, though I'm sure this could be dropped by at least 5 secs if you really push it..
