This is a tricky course with a FF. Strange, because ff are pretty common in Japanese cars. Ultimate challenge track?

Connection seemed pretty solid while I was in the room today. Just a bit of lag when someone would exit the track, and when someone would join or leave the room. Other than that, our race is looking good for tomorrow.
 
4. Nobody's even close to your time so far.

Also, when I tried to quali for the Miata race, I dropped a couple of times, but after a cache reset, and a ps3 reset, I was solid, even with my mic on.
 
The connections have been very strange with this game. I am not sure anyone has really figured it all out yet. I have heard a lot of people having luck with clearing their cache and resetting modem. I am just not sure I understand it all yet.

I have the most expensive normal home service, as I am a professional stock dealer. A bad connection could literally cost me a $100k in a matter of minutes. I have not had a problem thankfully. Yet, with this game, for last weeks race, I had a horrible time connecting. Something strange is going on, but I can't put my finger on it. Kaz and his crew are so secretive about everything.

Fingers crossed.. that we all have strong connections tomorrow.
 
Good fun at practise qualy last night (for me anyway) it truly was a momentous occasion to finally get into the 57s! And it was all down to getting the last corner right.

I love that track, it's nonstop but bloody hard on the tyres, unless that's just me!

You are correct about the tires. It is not just you. The fronts have to do all the turning as well as the acceleration.

Glad to hear you are in the 57s!
 
- Well, for me, it all started after I bought my mic. I'm sure it's got something to do with it, but it's likely a combination of things.

- The tires wear down quick, yes, but at least they're able to hols onto their times for a while. At Daytona, we were able to get 10 consistent laps before they dropped off. I'm guessing the tires will last about 15-17 laps at Tsukuba, with all the constant turns and everything.

- I'm off to bed now. Room will be open at 2:00 EDT, provided I wake up in time ;x
 
Guys if you want to preserve ur tires a little bit, increase the abs. Thats helping me a lot. I am too finally making 57.8xx. If i polish my skills a little more and get better throttle control i might get mid 57s.
 
I will be opening up a practice room soon and will be open till 2 PM once mule opens up his room.

Mule, enabling mics takes up bandwidth. If you do decide to leave mics on I recommend you set the mic quality to low. Better yet, disable mics for the race. No one used a mic last race anyway (until the race was over at least). When I was hosting weekly races I saw a large increase in connection quality when I disabled mics. Just a thought.

I feel like I'm so bad at this track. I can get in the high 57's, but usually I'm in the very low 58's.
 
Actually nas, disabling mics makes it worse. Last week in the miata race we had connection issues and we tried turning off the mics but people couldn't even stay in the server so we kept mic quality to standard instead of high and it was a near smooth race.

I'm not using my sixth gear at all. Bad idea?

Edit: What is the ballpark of everyone's top speed? I'm using 270 km/h right now, which I think is too high.

It depends on ur driving style. I sometimes prefer to not use the last gear so I can avoid wheel spin at the end of turns.

Just so everyone knows, we will need to go through 2 pit stops in this race so pit strategy is everything here. Also when going into the pit you have to go in through the actual entrance before the last turn and u will need to brake to about 3rd gear or else u will fly out off the pit lane and crash into people continuing to race. Just be a gentelman and slow down and go into the rightful pit entrance.
 
yeah it needs to be stated that you shouldn't skip the actual pit lane entrance. in other words, do not enter the pit at the last second thru the cones

About the pits, I'll make this ruling:


Entering the pits via the cones on the exit of the last corner intentionally will result in a time penalty of 45 seconds added to your race time

What constitutes intentionally will be up to me, and possibly Reevos and Wardez.

And if you make a mistake and enter via the true entrance too hot, and take somebody else out, then it'll just count as an unintentional accident.

Hey Mule, maybe you could give two warm up laps for this track in qualifying. My lap two is always about half a second slower than my lap three because my tires aren't fully warmed up at the end of lap one.
 
I can't do that, simply because people have already qualified with just 1 "out-lap"

Wouldn't be fair to them.

Edit: Well maybe not, can't sign in to psn for some reason. I have internet and I reset everything but still nothing. I'll continue troubleshooting and be on in time for the race.

Damn internet is pissing me off today! All morning its being going offline!

To any Canadians, BELL is the worst service provider in the entire country!! I am stuck with BELL because ROGERS doesn't come out to where I live.

Edit: I went to check connection, it say my internet works now but PlayStation Network is offline.... this happen to anyone else?
