Well, I grew impatient, so here's the new, correct Poll.

What do you put on your hot dogs?

Mine are chicago style, minus the mustard, which I hate. Onion, Tomato, Relish/pickle, and a sweet/hot pepper on a poppy seed bun.

Cosmic
Ketchup! WTF do you think? :D
Stay out of Chicago. You don't put ketchup on hot dogs in Chicago. Some good hot dog places don't even OFFER ketchup.

I put ketchup on everything! Ketchup and mushrooms, ketchup and potatoes, ketchup and chips, EVERYTHING

:grumpy: I put ketchup on fries only occasionally.

Just ketchup. I think loading it up too much is kind of pointless. A gourmet hotdog is kind of an oxymoron.

Beans n' franks are always good, though. Too bad BBQ baked beans aren't on the list.

Ketchup is only good on steak fries. Fast food fries and ketchup is taboo.

Mmmmm, hot dogs. Since I was the creator of the first HOT DOG thread, it's easy to say I'm a lover of our little hot, tasty friends. I'm just so damn lucky I live in the best and most well-known areas of the world where chili dogs are the "it" food, next to cheeseburgers.

Now, I know Coney Island started the hot dog trend, and Chicago claims to have the best (not really), but it's SoCal that has the best dogs. Need proof?

PINK'S! has the best dogs/chili dogs of any fast-food joint/resturant in the world. Pink's actually gets orders from Chicago, New York and Germany for their sausages. That's how fantastic they are. Check the link out for how many movie stars hang out there. It's the best in the world.

Next, it's Tommy's Original World Famous Hamburgers for the second best chili dogs, and the best chili. The chili is so famous here, they actually have to mail some to people because they got sick and tired of being asked if they could mail some chili to people. Seriously! In fact, they'll freeze a gallon and ship it over-night special delivery for you anywhere in the world! Just call them at 1-818-240-0019 and order some! I'm telling you, you wont be disappointed!

These two places aren't the only place in SoCal to get a tasty chili or hot dog. But, they're the best known, next to Carney's and other little places.

What do I like on my hot dog? Mustard. Maybe some dill relish, since I am from SoCal. But, nothing other than mustard, or chili, belongs on a hot dog. Ketchup is truly an abomination. Here's the following mustards all of you must try before you die.

1. Bertman's Ballpark
2. Stadium Mustard
3. Nathan's Deli Style Mustard
4. French's Classic Yellow

For hot dogs, I'll switch. From usually Hebrew Nationals (very fatty), to Nathan's or Papa Contella's natural casing hot dogs.

When my youngest son finally starts school, I plan to start another small business for myself selling hot dogs and chili dogs. That's how much I love these things! I let you know when I get started.

Once again, Cheese. See other thread for more details.

Cheese? What are you? Grossly over weight, oh wai......

I don't think I can eat actual hotdog sausages anymore (what are they called in americaland? wieners?) I tend to use a decent normal sausage, then add caribean hot sauce, onions and some tomato sauce.

you need to have a 'nothing' option

i put nothing on my hotdogs

call me crazy if you want

edit...derrrrrrr :dunce: didnt see plain bun

Everyone who lives in Montreal can testify that the best hot togs are Lafleur's Suprême hotdogs. A toasté with cheese and some bacon.

Gives my heart something to be ticked off about.

There needs to be another option that says "I completly loathe, despise and hate Hot Dogs."

Good idea. That way we can single them out and ridicule, torture and harass these bastard individuals to no end.

Couldn't you just have a sausage and bacon balm and stick some cheese on that.

I like the hotdogs with cow gums and eye sockets in them.

Then you want to eat "meat" weiners. Because hot dogs are made with bull muscle meat and are usually kosher.

Are American hotdogs generally grilled or boiled? If I’m having a boiled hotdog, I like to avoid condiments and extras other than tomato sauce. If I’m having an Aussie sausage, I prefer to have it with onion and ketchup.

The rule is, boil meat weiners, grill (pan fry) hot hogs. Both can be BBQ for more smokey flavor.

Hahaha. I was just kidding.

How about Brats, though? I like to do a Philly Cheese-Brat, if that makes sense.

....Minus the cheese (,which is usually in the brat anyway).

Philly style hot dog? Never tried that, but then I'm more of a traditionalist.

Oh, you were kidding, but not far from the truth. Meat weiners are made with the stuff they scrape off the bottom of the killing floor in the slaughter house. That's why you save the meat weiners for company you don't like, or your kids birthday party. Heh.
