I'm on hold waiting for paint stripper. Going to my parents house next week for the holiday so I'll grab my paint stripper then.

I'm getting on painting my BMW 2002-the first to be in the "White" Series-after I finish a painting I've spent a week doing.

Man, someone post something!

Ok, dammit.

I was thinking of doing some 1/64 figures whilst the weather stops me from painting... probably turn out looking like the Hunchback of Notre dame though.

@ Cano. Looking forward to that 911 resto/custom 👍, you done anymore to it?

Yup, it's painted already, just finding wheels for it at it's a Matchbox, so it's a bit bigger than most similar-sized cars and most wheels look small on it.

Yep, i hear you on that Cano, the MB was a bit bigger than typical casts, the wheels seemed quite wide as well (especially at the front). I think the present day 'Realtoy' wheels would suit it (VW Beetle, Nissan GTR etc, obviously not the tacky bling style wheels though) as the casts are that bit larger.
What it really needs though, is for you & Ahmed to mold some 'Fuchs'.... You have no idea how many sets i would purchase off you guys if you did them.

So I attempted to take some better photos of a couple cars. Attempted being the key word. Apparently 2 lamps is not enough. I still think my camera sucks.

That's not too bad, Jason. Did you have on a fluorescent room lamp?

The brighter, the better. If it's too bright, you can diffuse it.

This here is what I must have done by Christmas for my grandpa.

This is actually his 1947 Chevrolet Fleetline Aerosedan at a concourse show in Ohio.
The Glennmoore Gathering of Significant Automobiles to be precise.

And this is where I am with it. :ouch:
I just finished making this template in which I will make the wood trim on the side out of stained balsa wood and oak veneer.

You can take an exacto knife to the door lines and stuff to get that left over paint out. I also find one of those metal bristle attachments for the dremel to work good for that too.

That there is the best I was able to do with a very sharp flathead screwdriver and a safety pin. I assure you it is not as bad as it looks and the paint will come out fine.
As of writing, it is sitting down in the garage awaiting its primer to dry alongside a Veyron and CRX. :D

New pics of the RX7 look great Jason. 👍

@ Cano.
You did Fuchs already? cool 👍, have you got any pics or are they still in the refining stage?

Really? Okay! :dopey:

It is six in the morning here and I have yet to sleep because I just started to do the woodwork tonight stupidly enough.
I spent just a few minutes staining the balsa wood and about a half hour monkeying around with the oak veneer trying to get it to work only to find out it won't.
Plus the dark brown paint on the roof is getting these practically microscopic bubbles in it and it looks like I'll have to sand it before trying again.

Anyway, two hours later and this is where I am. :grumpy:

The mechanical pencil shown for scale is a .5 mm one.

I simply won't be able to finish this and its clearly my own damn fault for putting it off for so long. Unfortunately, this is going to be a late Christmas gift. :guilty:
I still got him this though. :D

Get him a free handmade gift exchange card for the model you are working on. :D

Great idea, but instead of last minute shopping, procrastinated to last minute crafting, eh?

Two cheap lamps I got from Wal-Mart.

So you get cheap lamps but blame your camera. From what I see they're reasonably good pics. What is it you'd like to see improve? Perhaps we can help.

I am happy to report my grandpa's birthday is February 17th.
'Nuff said.

haha, you have it made.

In the meanwhile, the theme for the next club meeting has been announced, and it's like I myself proclaimed it: muscle cars. I'll go search in my project box to see what I have for restoration. I'll also try to finish the Chaparral Camaro.

That's looking great McZachen 👍, it's hard to comprehend sometimes the skill involved, to be able to achieve that kind of result when considering the scale
That's some crazy tiny craftmanship. 👍

Thank the both of you guys for the kind words. :)

Now to complete his garage I need to make:
1947 Chevrolet Fleetline Sedan
1949 Ford Crestliner
1970 Dodge Challenger convertible
1973 Dodge Challenger

I'm not serious about that, I just wanted to brag. :P
