Bro :D PS5Pro is close to 1000 dolars. Even if PS6 will be one gen behind it can still be expansive with today memory crisis.

I didn't realize it was releasing tomorrow 😒

Given what's been said so far, 2028 is a longshot. 2029 or 2030 is more likely. What's happening today, may or may not be an issue at that point.

Yeah, I also hope it will be delayed, but there are also plenty of rumors that it will be releasing around 2027/2028. With this info it could easily be a 1000 dolar console.

That cost could also be the reason for delay. The cost is due to lack of availability, so even if they made the decision to make it $1000, they might not be able to get the chips to manufacture it.

Personally, I am not expecting it until at least 2029 because of all the global chaos.

Remember, even the base PS5 costs more.

While it is relevant already many years ago, the higher the price for any game console or PC that is used for gaming, the more important is the comparative advantage which is mostly about graphics. Then there's the titles that we can't get on both console or PC, but while a few percent higher price is not very important for many customers it is increasingly important when the nominal amount increase above a certain threshold.
And unless PD will implement many of the features & options we ask for that is not difficult then we don't get enough & better entertainment for €1000/$1000 vs €500/$500 that many of us paid for PS5 after waiting many months for the price to be reduced after the pandemic troubles. Diminishing returns means marginal or microscopical improvement.

And Kaz & PDI did improve GT7 very much since the first year [which I didn't play any GT7 while waiting for lower PS5 prices] & we [mostly meaning apart from the paid Power Pack] got it for money that we already paid for the game!

The exception is GT7.
 
Thing is:
They know there are some people that buy a PlayStation mostly for Gran Turismo. With GT7 they had a big base of PS4s and introduced Sophy after a while so GT fans had motivation to finally switch to the PS5.

If, as many expect, GT8 will be a multi generation title, what will they do this time to get us to buy a new console?

For the most part, yes...

... but it was, by definition, an unprecedented situation and therefore not precedent.

...and this is my story with PlayStation, once a new version of GT came out, I changed the console. I hope I don't have to do that with GT8... but if forced... :D
 
I don't think the PS6 release date will have much impact on GT8's release. PD will launch the game whenever it's ready, either first on PS5 with an enhanced version later for PS6, or as a cross generation title released on both platforms simultaneously. That said, reports (KeplerL2 leaker) suggest that the PS6 hardware has already taped out, which makes a PS6 2027 launch window seem more likely.
