Given that the PS3 is already maxed-out by GT5, it would only make sense for GT6 to be released on the PS4, if it wants to stay in the competition when it comes to graphics.

What did I say again?Things PS3 hardware limits -
- Overall graphic/visual levels.
- Performance in game with current level of detail.
- Things like number of cars on track, effects like smoke and shadows
In GT and GT3, normal prize cars would often come in special colours that you couldn't buy at the dealership. It was a nice touch to make the prize cars collectible.Talking about cars:
Prize cars should not be given directly. Instead, it should give you a ticket for that car, so that you could "buy it for free" in the color you want. This way, you won't have to just live with having a car in a color you don't like. I always hated this concept, especially because you're not able to paint all cars (LM race cars, X2010) in the appropriate colors.
As has been said in another thread, every game runs the ps3 at about 99% it makes no sense to run it at any less.
SimonKThings PS3 hardware doesn't limit -
- Number of PS3 quality cars. Yes the premiums are as good looking as they're going to get on PS3 but that doesn't stop there being more of them, and less/no standards. The only limitation there is time and disc space, which I believe there is plenty of in GT5. This could be the best looking racing game of the current gen if it wasn't dragged down by the standards.
- Amount of tracks, including dozens of older ones removed from previous games. The only limitaition on this is as above.
Size of career mode. The number of races, the variety of races. Yes the hardware is limiting in that they can't create a 32 car series but they can easily multiply events based on what they already have. Also things like manufacturer races. Not to mention the whole structure can be modernised and updated.
- number of tracks with weather and night. If they can do it on the ring with the PS3 they can do it on any track. Again, just time and disc space.
In short, there is still a heck of a lot they could do with GT6 on a PS3, if they put their mind to it and get their butts into gear.
If GT6 does come out for the PS4. I hope PD (epecially Kaz), doesn't try to be "perfect" and redo the engine again. l:,
Also, that 1500 car count is unlikely.
Only problem is, about 350 of those 2000 will probably by Skylines, RX7s, Miatas, 3000GTs, Evos, Imprezas, and other JDM filler (to the exclusion of very desirable cars from places besides Japan).
Of course, with 2000 car slots to fill, I'm not sure how they could miss that many good cars. This being PD, though, they'll probably find a way.
There can't be that many race cars in relation to street cars. I mean, I like racing race cars, but I do like driving normal road cars fast as well. Also, that 1500 car count is unlikely.
Kaz said he will use the same engine again, as to say, I like when he goes for perfection, it gives us a good game, I dislike it when Sony rushed PD though![]()
Quality, not quantity. That is all.
As many as possible without having a single 'standard' car.
I disagree that consumers will not buy GT6 if has less cars, primarily because by the time GT6 ships, they'll have about 400-500 cars. Once you get to that point, the car count becomes less of any issue.Consumers simply won't buy GT6 (and a PS4) if it has 1/3 the cars forza5 will, which is actually the case right now if you compare GT5 and Forza4's unique (not duplicates) premium car lists.
In short, GT6 should have at most cars and content as possible. Also PD is already way behind.
Where I think consumers will start to turn away from GT is if the customisation and parts/tuning situation does not improve, and in that area, you're right, PD are miles behind. It find it baffling as to how GT can be so poor in these areas.

nealcropperI tend to disagree with people bashing on GT5, but I honestly cannot defend GT5 here. It is, quite frankly shameless, that PD think it ok to put the same level on customisation in as they have since, well since GT1.
