Shoulder injuries are tough. I went through one not too long ago. Mine turned out to be a bone spur. The doctor said I would either have to live with it or get surgery. He said after the surgery I would have to lay off the weights for around 6 months. I wasn't willing to do that so I came up with exercises that worked around the injury. I figured I would never to start going heavy on my bench again. About 3 months ago the pain started to disapear and today it's completly gone. I am working my way back up and now am at 390 max.Originally posted by Pako
Well I injured my shoulders in late Sept., I hope to be back in the gym by January. I tore some ligaments when I was trying to rep out. I had a good spotter, but I guess I'm getting too old to do stupid stuff like that.
My last rep on the bench was 315 nine times, haven't been back since.

Finally hit 420 again. I think I pulled a muscle in my neck in the process though. This stuff never happened a few years back. Must be the age thing.![]()

So Concept,
What's been the biggest help in your routine to get your bench up?
Great ratio, by the way...

Do not forget a size 14 shoe, and hands that feel comfortable around an Xbox controller.![]()

Well, the biggest help has to be that I'm taking a weight training class. That's helped greatly. This way, I have other people motivating me to do more and more. It helps working out with others. Believe it or not, but I never realized doing push-ups would help your bench max. Consistant burnouts on bench and working out the triceps has helped greatly. Especially the triceps, after getting the weight to your chest, the hardest part is getting it back up to the point where your biceps move the weight again. Working the triceps totally helped in getting my bench up.
Are you still working out Pako? Oh and uh, were you being sarcastic about my ratio?
