Fully tuned Lambo Countach did it for me. Put all the possible upgrades, soft race tires, rear wing and it is possible to win this race. Not easy... but doable.
Do not forget to adjust the aero to max and lower the suspension a bit. Good Luck.

You mean lower the spring rate?
But thanks in advance, which countach was it? The anniversary version or the old lp?

It was the old one - I guess it has to be as the race is 1979 or earlier.
I actually just lowered the ride hight (-10 front and rear).
 
Is anyone else having trouble finding a a pickup for the truck challenge, i'm level 20 now and up till now i still havn't seen anything i can use in the used cars?
 
anyway i bought the xanavi nismo gtr and slapped a turbo on it and did the stage 3 engine mod, 691hp and a whole lot of downforce, its slower than the LM cars in a straight line but you can keep up and pass them with little trouble, on race three right now, so far gold on the first two

you can get one as a prize for one of the licenses
 
I just bought a stealth amg on eBay. Didn't work. I bid on the other stealth though. :). $16 down the tube.
 
Ive found a used ALtezza Touring car, i added turbo stage 3 490bhp and it sticks to the road like its on rails, im absolutely loving this beast!! It only costs 38k !!
 
I absolutely smoked the competition in the Gran Turismo World Championship with my tuned Ferrari 458 Italia. And it don't consider myself being a especially good driver.

Just a few minutes ago i handed the maxed out Mazda Furai Concept to B-Spec Bob and he's leading since the first chicane in Le Mans and is already about 500 meters in the lead on lap two.
Small tip: Make sure to adjust your gear ratios to the approximate top speed of each track. The Furai comes "stock" with fully adjustable gears.

Quick note here, if you are level 21, the MINOLTA toyota 88C is winnable in A Spec from the 'Like the Wind' Race. This is however against some le mans cars, although others such as the suzuki escudo are in there. There are only 2 races though, 5 laps of the indy super speedway and 5 of the daytona road course

EDIT: Its also a nice 70K/ win so if you can get something to do well enough on the oval, it shouldn't be too long before you can afford something good :) not many points/win though, about 3k :(

On a sadder note, the Ford GT40 is a no goer for the historic race car cup, just came through the used car lot at 19.5M.. I think I saw one of the chapparels at 4m ish a while back, might wait for another of those or the old z06 racer to come back around..
 
At GTauto , the place where you can change rims and colors etc. you can also choose a tune car option, then the body will be build as a racecar. It's pretty expansive though..
 
I am currently level 16 at the moment so i dont know if the requirements state it has to be a race car but i have found an alternative.
Lamborghini Murcielargo LP670-4 SV. Spend everything on it so that it has an output of 882BHP and weighs little over 1200kg. it can out drag Veyrons,Zonda R'S, Nascars, Citreon GT Race cars,Jaguar xj-13(Does a great job for a car so old), NSX Race cars, RX7 Race cars, GT500 GTR race cars. it has amazing power ansd speed and handles pretty well with and without tc. only problem is ride height around circuits like Nurburgring

I did a couple of races in my stealth GTR500 but I prefer the 787B and SLS by far.👍

OT but does anyone know what car you win for the tuned championship A and B spec?
 
I bought 2 stealth cars off eBay. Neither worked. I'm grinding it out. Going for the f1 at level 25 for 12.5 million. Found a race pays $83k at 5 1/2 minutes and 4700. Exp.

if you can get golds on the like the wind events then you win the minolta race car, its the easiest way to get your hands on a race car, but its still not an easy event to win, I was able to hang in there with the zr1 RM but not really able to catch up, but when i got the minolta its so much faster than the zr1 but it seems the better the car you have the faster the AI is, because they were still right on my back the entire race
 
FYI: I picked-up a Raybrig NSX '00 Race Car from the used dealer for ~725,000 credits (+55k tuning to max it out) and, while it handles like it's on rails, it isn't fast enough on the straights to hang with the cars in the GT All-Stars event. :grumpy:

UPDATE: A good way to tell if your car is ready is if you can run the Nürburgring in under 6:57. I just came in third in a Gran Turismo All Stars race with the Raybrig NSX on the Nürburgring with a time of 7:01.177 and I swapped a lot of paint and went off twice along the way (I also had the F/R downforce max'd out). The first-place car ran it in 6:57.414 and led wire-to-wire. I think that if I could get out in front of the first-place car early, I could do enough blocking to pull off a win...

The extreme series (probably gold) in A-spec give race cars (from GT5rs):
Like the wind : Minolta Toyota 88-V Race Car '89
Super GT : Nissan Calsonic Skyline GT-R Race Car '93
Dream car championship : Ford GT LM Race Car Spec II
 
I have tried the Like the Wind race with a fully tuned ZR1 with RM and still get owned after a few seconds. I have tried it with different top speeds so I have better acceleration but then their top speeds destroy me.

Does anybody have the exact twekas they did to tune their ZR1 and win the Like the Wind?

If all else fails, I'm going to grind my way up to Lvl23 and buy that darned Mazda 787. Then I'll show them!
