Got a 1:19.2xx on my third retry :D Aids are TCS 0 and ABS 1. The penalties doesn't really bother me, but I think it will if I try again for Gold.

I can't see a 1'13.7xx time atm, I think any sub 1'14.000 lap time would be close to perfect given the difficult nature of the last 2 corners.
I agree definitly.....tried yesterday to chase EDD's ghost but lady luck was not on my side in that last sector....but now I can see that 1'13 although it's going to be blody hard!!:nervous:

What worries me more is that I was able (just once) to go through Hammerhead with almost 4 wheels behind the lines and the lap wasn't red clocked. It was by accident and I don't know if the game blocked or wtf but I hope we wont cut anymore corners untill the deadline!!

BTW: I see those Polish guys are fast to, very nice times congrats!!

On my first try I managed a 1:19.2 nothing special. but while it was off for maintenace, I pulled out my SLS from the garage and went over to the top gear circuit to practice on same tyres. Better control of the car and got a 1:16.9 Now back to the seasonal and the same tyres are much slippier. Check it out if you have an SLS from the dealer. (Time not improved)

I did a 1.15.5. It was ranked 115th and I want to break the top 100.

I still have yet to try it.I've been too busy with work and things around the house.

I plan on doing it soon though.

GT makes the AMG SLS a lump of poo! If this is how the real one drives, I would never purchase one! What a TURD!👎

Yep these guys are good, but lets make sure they don't hog the podium hey Zoky:sly:

Congrats to GTPL_Kolsa2 and to GTPL_norbi_10 for some great times:tup:

Elder from Japan managed in 1'13.968....:bowdown:

For me 1'14.4xx is possible.

Omg you guys deserve

I can only do a 1:16.412 with a DS3, TC1 and ABS 1.

Done a 1:17.875 with ds3 and without adjusting any setting (tc5?).

1:18:193. It's so tail happy.

I can see a 1'14.7xx if I can get the last 2 corners right :(
They are killing me.

Ti-tech85 has joined the show. Amazing to see an alien fast driver not much faster on the leaderboards so far than me, around only just over two tenths. Expect that margin to grow to over a second in the coming days / weeks against my current time.

Anyone got the Japenese version and have a capture card. If so anyone kind enough to upload Elder512's replay? Just want to see the awesomeness of his lap.

I can't even work out where the ferkin' track is supposed to be!

What is this "PAL version" thing you guys are talking about? What region is that? I'm in Canada and I can access the event. Also, why are comfort softs being used? I thought sports hard were the equivalent to real life. Managed to get 1.19.xx.

Just watched the current leaders replay - and he cut the corner by the tyres and into Hammerhead. :censored:ing marvellous!

:banghead:

Agree. Trying to figure out how to make good times without cheating. If you are allowed to go over the painted lines then don't paint them on there. Come on PD, really. Release a patch that boots these guys or give us a report button as mentioned.

Anybody know who has the best time with a legit lap and no corner cutting? Would love to learn how to improve my time and driving without cheating and staying inside the lines. I feel like I learned that in pre-k. Anybody, anybody... Bueller?

Fastest "clean" laps are mid 1:14's.
Good luck catching them sir. ;)

Similar things were going threw my mind too as I fight to stay on the track, no way on earth that car in real life handles like it does on GT.

Couldn't agree more. What is annoying is the fact that GT equates the comfort soft tires to being equivalent to the actual tires on the real car. I equate comfort soft tires to a car like a Vitz or Mini. A performance vehicle has stock tires that are much more likely to be sports medium or soft. GT just didn't want anybody destroying DC's lap time.

This event is a serious challenge for me and I think most players. My best time is 1:19:084 and yet I am ranked at 2458 or something like that in the NA listing. I would guess that not many more than 1000 players have actually beaten the time for gold.

I have gotten gold in all the other seasonal events and the only others that were a real challenge were the "expert" series.

I am really impressed by the skill of some drivers to get around this track in the times they do. I know I will never reach that level of skill or reflexes.

I agree that GT wanted to protect David Coultard's times by moving everyone to Comfort Soft tires... it didn't work because his time is still getting destroyed by the best GT drivers.

I will continue to try and break 1:18 before 26 September but my short term goal is to get to 1:18:xxx. If nothing else I am getting really well acquainted with the track, in fact I went back and got gold with the Elise in the Intermediate TGTT Challenge something I thought was impossible for me before.

I golded it in half an hour (I'm a terrible player) and a friend who is on the top 10 took 5 minutes, there's also people here saying they got 1:14s in their first try. Stop beating yourself down and keep practicing instead. You said it yourself, you never thought you'd beat the TGTT Elise channel and now you did it. Maybe with enough practice you'll break the top 250.

For those who can't keep the car on the road, you race too much on Racing softs....

If you practice more with other tires in the game, you will find out that the SLS is actually driving pretty good on Comforts.

The car drives fantastically, even with comfort softs. The car is not always the problem. :)

No. Tires arent the problem.

The track IS the problem.

.

I felt that way too, before this event I had barely even driven the track before, in a car this fast at least. Having spent some time at this track now, I've grown to like it.

But that said, nothing ruins the driving sensation like colliding with an invisible wall. I absolutely HATE that! :ouch:

What is wrong with the track? Besides the strict boundaries.

My best time was a 1:19:xx. I didn´t even manage to get the gold trophy (1:18). I like the sls and i like the track, but i think it´s pretty hard to get the right braking point + apex there.

Well, i tried about half an hour, so i think i can scratch off a second or a bit more, but times like 1:15 are way out of my range. Always thought i´m a decent driver, but now i feel worthless :D
