You enter a race and you're told "You can start anytime you like, or you can wait until the starting gun to start running" If you start before the gun goes off, are you cheating? I thought we settled this a long time ago!! If the game allows it, it's not cheating! If you cant keep up, dont make excuses like you could if the others didn't cheat! That's so lame. I can't keep up even when I follow their line, but I am getting closer.

I agree to the 'fast is fast' bit. They simply are and will beat you anytime, anywhere in anything. No point denying that.

On the other hand, I'm a Snooker guy. You'll play fair at the end of the day. You play with common sense and obey the unwritten rules of the game.

If not, the only 'fair' course left will be Monaco with its Armco. Now in this TT there were no real life goodies to be won so who cares. Worst thing is your ego gets hurt. But the decay of ettiquettes bugs me. It is, also in real life, by no means ok to win by any means. Doing so is a sign of weekness and I really don't like weekness.

I have a pretty good feel for the course, though I ALWAYS have trouble with the 2nd to last turn (Bacharach Bend). It is hard to judge the distance for me.

Well said. In real life there are two sayings: "Cheaters never prosper" and "Nice guys finish last". With these in mind, we have to strike a ballance between then two. I figure if it's legal, it's moral. Go for it.

If a racer wants to prove his skill to get his replay into the top 10, and just cant because everyone else used the shortcut to get there, do u still blame him when he eventually uses the shortcut?

PD is at fault again for putting out a challenge and not fixing the bugs / shortcut.

I simply can't resists any longer so forgive me for putting gas in the fire: if you (ab)use a glitch or bug in FM3 you'll get booted from XBL. How's that for a start?

Anyway was Davids fastest lap really dirty? I thought the actual lap was ok (two wheels on track) just the recap used helicopter footage from different laps. Some were dirty because he was on hot brakes anyway.

However I watched some replays and apart from the questionable stuff they were pretty amazing.

Don't go around dissing people who cut - they're amazingly fast and one cut wouldn't make any difference.

David on the other had cut wilson, approach to chicago, exit of chicago and follow-through (all 4 wheels off the lines). Those cuts gave him at least 1 second, no joke.

EDDSKILL did a 1:14.747 without any corner cutting. I wonder how long it takes before the top guys get into the 1:13.XXX. Will the Lacombes make a late entry...

Exactly, racers just want to be 1st so they use every means possible to get there. Even in real life racing.

Wasn't a whole lap deducted from the top runners in the 2010 24 hrs race on the Nürburgring for not lifting under yellow flags?
As for real life, there are Sennas and Schuhmachers. However there are Röhrls as well.

Anyway curious to see how the aliens will do in the time remaining!

EDDSKILL can do 1'14.3 without corner cutting anyway it's not a conspiracy theory or something ffs. He's obviously tired of seeing everyone cutting at his expense(since he was the last to do so of the top guys).
It's only a fun event that's worldwide and worth having a go at, so he's just competing on a level playing field just like I would if I saw those other replays.
If anyone else can do a clean 1'14.3 then fair enough but they're trying to detract away from the fact that they can't by trolling the forum about it.

I have been running continuous laps. If I mess up one lap I keep going and do lap after lap. Does one off invalidate all my future laps until I restart?

I'm only turning 1:23.XX so far, but not even a bronze trophy has come up.

If they brake rules than fine, but obviously PD did lousy job with setting up rules for track, you can't really blame gamers. Guys on top are still best, cutting Chicago or not.

Yes, It will stay red until you hit restart,
I'm guessing this is because if you move cones around you may gain an advantage by not having them there to hit.
