Maybe it's been said already, but I don't think you can compare regions times side by side. Look at the Asian leaders for example. The 250th ranked Eu driver would sit in 2nd place in the Asian rankings. I am in 142 in the Americas and I would would way ahead in the Asians. The games are different from region to region. Have to be!

Have the tyres been changed? The car seems a lot more forgiving than before, golded it within a couple of attempts (with active steering on strong, this may be why, idk - but it seems very easy out of Chicago and the Hammerhead). And they still haven't removed the cones/extra corners that aren't on the real track :ouch:

1'17.719, ranked exactly 100th :D Not for long though i'm guessing...

They still have not fixed corner cutting, take a look at the fastest time & you will see him put two wheels inside the line at Hammer Head & a few other on the grass bits. ok its not has bad as the first time around but its still happening & ever Ich or Cm you can gain will bring the time down.

Maybe its as good as it will get.

You can put two wheels inside the line, you just have to have at least two wheels on the track at any given time.

At a lot of tracks there are kerbs on the inside of corners that everybody cuts by putting two wheels over the white line. This is like those occasions, only there is no kerb. The kerbs are often narrow enough to indicate to the driver how far he can go without leaving the track boundaries completely. Providing two wheels are on the track, it's regarded as clean.

The problem with cutting before was at Chicago, where you were able to cut it with all 4 wheels. But, I think that was a good trade-off considering the exit is narrower than in real life thanks to the cones on the exit, I don't like the fact they removed the corner cut but didn't address the other problems with the track (e.g. Cones on the racing line on the entry and exit to chicago).

Just thought I would post my Time up.
Thats with a D-Pad and X Square, Just a few tries too.?
1.17.607.
TC 3
Active Steering Strong
ABS 10.
Thats enough of this challenge for me but enjoyed it.:)
Chat soon bye for now.:)

so I did 1:17:7xx... again :D I wonder how many players will be unable to beat 1:18:000 without cutting chigago, being ~0,2 sec away ;)

1:18.3. A low 1:17 is possible if I can just get the car to unwind out of Hammerhead properly.

Is there any way to get the ghost of the top driver in Europe in another region?

Maybe if you had any of them on your friends list, and you clicked 'Friends only' You might get the ghost option that way. But that's just about all I can think of, unless you can change your region somehow.

#60 in US at the moment. Had quite a lot of mistakes on my run (Spent like 5 minutes last night when it was reset). Will attempt a 15 later. Gotta take a look at one of the Top Driver lines.

Nice early pace Zoky, I have yet to undertake a session with the newly modified track, but I will later in the weekend, cheers.

Thanks...I'm aiming for 14'3 at least untill deadline.Having alot more fun with Chicago corner now with no cutting and no more stupid reverse trick on start!! Will give it some more time this weekend hopefully and I'm looking forward to see you and EDD back in game!

EDDSKILL has nearly hit the maximum already. He has amazing skill and insane raw pace, his second fastest lap is still faster than anybody elses. His first sector is too human at the moment though but I'm sure he will improve it. The question is can he go lower than 1:14.1 ?

Happy to finally join the 14 club. I think that makes me the fastest Brit using a DFGT :sly: (Fastest outright is impossible for me and maybe also staying 2nd or 3rd). It is a bit frustrating that I actually attended the real event and couldn't compete. Synwraith was there also so he was most likely the fastest player at the actual event.

Here is EDDSKILL looking very human, most likely due to car, wheel and track combo. I wonder if he knows now about the flashing red gear light as that would have helped him a lot on the braking points for the track. The video below has poor sound though, I have linked to it. I'm surprised how poor he drove, maybe he was applying too much throttle due to the pedals and with the Zonda R, that is not a good combination at all compared to other cars.

Like I said Ed doesn't play the game much and didn't even know La Sarthe at all. That tourny was all about experience that's why I did so well in it, most of the combo's used I had prior experience. Alex Ingram won it due to his experience of split-screen play like I won the points rounds due to my experience of TT combos. I'm under no illusion that I can beat daveyskills, Ingram, eddskill that easily without some kind of advantage!
I still maintain that on a level playing field of experience Eddskill is the only UK player very very high on the worldwide top ten.

i think pd should create two different leaderbords: one for wheel users and one for ds3 users. wheel users have a huge advantage

I know that he does not play that much but I would have expected someone so alien fast to have decent car control hence why I was surprised. Only thing I can think of is the DFGT and the car is a different beast to most others in the game.

I agree he is probably the best time trialler in the UK and would do well worldwide in any simulation racing game (He has topped the last three GT Academy leaderboards for the UK region I think). However there are some other fast guys in the UK who don't play GT5 much though like I have seen in the F1 sub forum who could potentially rival him. I'm sure there are fast guys in Forza that never played GT5 too and there is iRacing people too.

is it possible to get gold with the ds3?
More than possible.

A top pad player should still be able to do around 1:14.5 I would say. A filter would be good though.

ok, i ll get a try later. do you suggest to use high settings on abs?
If you use high ABS settings the computer (In the car) will pulse the brakes more, so you'll find that if you have ABS on 10 versus 3, you'll have to brake earlier. So, no, as a DS3 user I wouldn't have ABS on 10. I prefer it on 3. Try to find a balance.
Do a few laps with these settings and change accordingly:
TCS: 2
Active Steering: Strong
ASM: Off
ABS: 5

I got Gold with all Aids OFF except ABS set to 1..With a DS3...My best time so far is 1.17.853? (I think)...

I have Golded this event 3 times with a DS3 and once with my T500rs.

It can, and has been done many times..Keep trying you will get it.

Thanks,playnthru

Well if you're interested in judging car control sat watching YouTube videos try this test. Go into GT5, setup a split screen race, choose the stock Pagini Zonda from the recommended garage on sport tyres and drive a track you don't know flat out. No driving aids, have a feel of the car without practice and see how you get on. Don't forget you don't even get the dials and have only half the screen (in 3D) and can't hear your engine.

I've raced Eddskill a hell of a lot and because of my experience I'm always faster than him on lap 1,2,3 and then that's my lot by lap 4 I am forced into thinking of finding ways of catching up or pulling away by using situation/circumstance tricks in setup or other conditions I normally have no opportunities driving-wise to go faster after that.
There's always someone that wants to pick fault in everything on an internet forum isn't there, be a bit more positive Ali please.
Its easy to pick fault, try being more positive and then you can channel that into finding out where the extra pace comes from.
