I'm a little curious why NASA feel the need to plonk an observatory at a La Grange point. Hubble does a perfectly good job in near-Earth orbit.

For spending money, so people can make money. That's why America loves to go to war so damn much. There's money to be made from it.

You are correct though, and I agree with you. Hubble is still a great piece of orbiting space equipment.
