For the record, damage WILL DO NOTHING to prevent wrecking online. Nothing prevents wrecking. Just wanted to add that. Damage is cool, but I'm more looking forward to the improved online action, plus more tracks would be great.
Higher priority for me would be more intelligent AI cars, weather / time of day changes (just visually / i dont need wet tracks), private rooms, a better chase camera, qualifyng sessions, technical failures (overheat) and such things..
I think it will be about the same. Some people do it to gain the lead and win, so they will have to stop or their cars will be damaged and they will lose, but new people will do it because seeing the damage will be "cool."Actually, if anything you will get hit MORE. Those 10 year old kids (my 12 yr old included) will be really grateful that the GT gods have given them a game with amazing graphics, realistic engine noise, exotic cars AND NOW . . . . crash damage !! Now they get to plow into you at 140 mph on the first left hander on HSR with even MORE childish satifaction. Hoorah.
Did you play GT2?What's wrong with reducing the handling/performance of a damaged car without having the resources-sapping graphical interpretation to go with it ?
As for your 12-year-old son, I believe I speak for many of us when I request you restrict his online access until he quits. He can get the same fun and effect by doing it offline. Of course, if it comes at the same time as custom races and private lobbies he may find he can only get into races with others who want to crash.
Did you play GT2?
Sure thing, I just had this debate with another member who said wrecking others wasn't a problem because his son loves doing it.Thanks for your concern regarding my son. Let's leave it there shall we ?
GT2 had performance damage simulation and everyone hated it.And, yes, I did play GT2. What's your point ?

The best form of parenting there is. 👍I didn't say it wasn't a problem, but I'm not going to police my son as he plays a VIDEO GAME. He'll learn the error of his ways soon enough (meaning I'll mock him until he stops)
That could work. The damage simulation in GT2 was crap. Obviously an afterthought in response to whichever Need fo Speed game was out at the time. What I'd like to see is an intelligently implemented system along the same lines. Nothing more.
As long as the performance is affected properly I am not too concerned with the visual effect, as long as it doesn't look laughable.

To be honest damage modeling is not at the top of my list of things I would like to see implemented. I am fine without it.
But as Yamauchi says he wants it done correctly or not at all I am intrigued to see what they pull off and I think it may be something that we have never seen before.

Click on the news tab at the top and you may have to go back a page to find the first half of the interview with Kazunori Yamauchi but he said only a few manufacturers are holding out and they will convince them, and that damage would be very, very soon. Also, if damage modelling gets fully implemented, surelly that will create problems for PD getting licences from absent manufacturers ? Just a thought.

Look at it!
You're right! If it's Forza 2 damage I'll rather be without...
Simple allow the host to kick players.I agree with the need for private games, hopefully, it will be added soon.
With damage, griefers may have more of an impact? What if someone decided to go backwards and smoke the guy who passed him, or the leader? Yeah, they might ruin their own race, but what if the guy has been lapped like 10 times already, and doesn't really care anymore...
