These people are growing rhino horns from their skin. Like a rhino. They should do something about that.

I wonder if they're growing these for the same reason rhinos grow horns. Is it the same material?

I doubt it. Rhino horns are tightly-packed strands of kerosene, and the description given in the article is that of warts growing on his skin.

But maybe it's some crazy type that isn't a uniform shape. After all, rhinos' genes dictate that the horn is going to be a horn (which is keratin, not kerosene ). Maybe these people have the same mechanism that makes keratin grow, but not the gene the says what shape it's going to be or one that controls its growth.

Keratin is also in the claws and scales of reptiles, according ti Wiki. Maybe these people are growing claws and scales uncontrollably?

Or have scientist determined that this is viral and not a genetic mutation? They keep saying virus, but what the hell sort of virus would make you grow antlers on your feet?

Man, that's horrible. He must be a very strong individual to be able to live with that. I honestly don't know if I could it I were in the same situation. Hope they're able to find a cure for this.

The one guy's hands are all keratin growth. Basically, it's like his fingernails mutated and took over his hands.

The tree person looks like some kind of wart/fungus/lichen.

Wow, I only realized now that I said kerosene and not keratin. I should stop listening to Eddie Rickenbacker's race reports...

Anyways, perhaps all those warts actually do grow in the manner of fingernails, but their regeneration sounds more like dandelions or leg hairs (in the words of this girl I know): they grow back after being cut, but bigger and more abundant.
