Would you buy an XBox for GT4?

"I don't think GT4 on the XBOX would be impressive-looking and playing as on the PS2. "

Oh john, please explain to me why, does the ps2 have built in "play well hardware"? John, some times I really do wonder if you actually have a clue at all, and well, that last post would sway me towards thinking that you just type random words in the hope that they form a sentance (usually 400 lines of utter crap). The points you made were utter gibberish, you seem to have this idea that the same game would some how play better on the ps2 then the xbox, simply because it's on the ps2! Crazy, I fail to grasp this logic, most ps2 and xbox games I've played play exactly the same, they must not be using the ps2s hardware to make it play better :P

"I love the PS2 because it is a very good system that isn't dated if not seriously dated."

HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Yes, John, ofc it isn't dated, and my master system isn't dated either. John, it was dated 6 months after it came out (like every console), welcome to the real world.

I guess I'm gonna be called an xbox fanboy now because I shot down some ps2 ass kissing :P well fine. Either that or the JohnBM brown nosing squad will come along.

Wow code_kev, no mention of RSC2, you feeling OK? Also John, were you drunk, half-asleep or both when writing the above? Usually your posts are precise and well written.

What's up code, you feeling jealous people don't tell you you're nice or positively contribute to anything? You're not even original dude - each post consists of the same formulaic response. You laugh raucously, rhetorically attack a point or two, mention some crap about ass kissing and fanboys and that's it. Woo.

I've got a great reason why GT4 would be better on the PS2 than the Xbox - I can use the PS2 controller to play games, not for a dinner plate/footrest.

From a technical standpoint there's no reason the game would be any worse and it certainly has the potential to be better from a lot of aspects. If PD put the more powerful hardware to work and can include things they can't on the PS2, then that'd be the only real reason the game would be better. If it was identical in terms of features, I'd be surprised if the graphical difference would be noticeable, or any other hardware specific difference.

LOL... footrest

Each post, now come on Eagle, that's hardly true now is it. I only attack a post when I see utter crap being said, and the above by John was. Jealous, well I guess some people love having people brown nosing them, but I certainly don't, I don't need the ego boost of having people telling me I'm great, or bowing down to me, like certain members obviously enjoy. I post my thing, and I expect to be *****ed at anyway. While I'm not the nicest member I guess, I'm not biased, nor do I make up crap. I will work on making my posts more original just for you from now on, I could add some pretty colours etc.

It's nice to see though that you actually gave a reason for liking a ps2 version more that wasn't some trashy reason like "ugh xbox sucks". btw that footrest thing only applys to the old pads I assume...they sucked, but the s pads are very nice indeed, not much bigger the ps2 pads.

I know, they're standard now aren't they? I tried using both at a Halo LAN a while back. You'd have loved it - 4 TVs, 4 consoles, 16 players, kickass. Meanwhile I sit here running laps by myself for the WRS - there's things to be said for the Xbox.

I'll appreciate the colours, anything to brighten the experience is great 👍 The problem is you see utter crap being posted all the time and feel the need to individually quote and respond to each section. I did that once and wound up with a post 5 pages long, and I realised I wasn't going to prove a damn thing and just waste people's screen space, so I deleted it.

I don't think most of the time John goes out with the intention of getting people onto his brown nose crew, but if you're sensible and respectful, people take note.

I've grown to like the Xbox S pads more than the PS2 pads, especially for racing games. The trigger buttons are great, something Sony must of noted as I heard the PS3s controllers would be in the usual 'format' plus a trigger button.

Still I agree the early Xbox pads are rediculous

I think the PS3 pads will just have more heavily analogue shoulder buttons, but I think it's a testament to Sony they've produced a pad with minimal changes for a decade and people still love it - someone in the ergonomics division deserves praise.

the PS2 is very dated, but looking at GT4 screens and vids i can outright say that PD knows how to push it.

but while this might be top-end graphics for PS2, the GC and XBC can still push more pixels, but Graphics aren't everything, i enjoy all three about equally and am looking forward to Forza almost as much as GT4

Incubus, since you said the PS2 is pretty much dated, do you think Gran Turismo 4 is something to pay attention to so players and the media can both get an idea as to how the PS3 will perform over PS2, much less the next Gran Turismo?

Pixels are nothing, polygons are everything. I'll go out on a limb and say the thing limiting pixels is your TV and it's format ;)

i don't think the current gen of Console hardware should be used as a basis of how the next gen of Console hardware will run.

though i've read most tech reports about the PS3 and X-Box Next and based on what i've read so far i think the PS3 will have a noticable performance advantage. but thats based on current knowledge and that might change, its still probably 6-8 months until the PS3 is unveiled

I may have to do more reading about the XBOX, but I know that the XBOX doesn't require a memory card as the biggest thing. I'll have to do more reading. In the future, I'll come up with a unique situation: I will reverse roles of the PS2 and XBOX (in other words, the XBOX's capabilities is the PS2's and the PS2's capabilities are the XBOX's), have GT4 released for this "new PS2," and talk about how this would compare to the "new XBOX." Sound strange? I'll try something different in the future. It will take some hours or days or weeks to come up with. So, reply on if you want to continue to reply to Event Horizon's topic.

I agree with Eagle.........If everyone had Digital High Definition TV screens it would mean that developers and console manufacturers could push up the visual power that a normal TV would not be capable of.

Maybe when the PS3 comes out it will have alot more High Definition support aswell as the games.

So we all gota buy buy new TV's now! ;)

GT4......with High Defintion....drools.....

A new TV standard debuted recently at a Japanese trade show, Ultra High Definition TV, which offers somewhere in the region of 4000+ lines on screen, 16 minutes worth of the stuff consumed something like 3 terabytes.
