Alright here's my problem, I usually go to sleep around 11pm, but every single morning i wake up at 4am exactly, sometimes at most 15 min. off but I seem to not be able to sleep past this time. It used to be I couldn't sleep later than 6am (that was okay) but 4am! It really pisses me off! Could the problem be with my pillows, sheets, blankets etc? BTW i'm only 16 also.

Well.. What I would do is actually try and make sure you've done everything *like.. all your homework..etc* so that you won't keep worrying about it at night..

Or just make the area where you sleep more comfortable.

This is an odd one - you don't seem to describe any difficulty in getting to sleep, so that throws out most of the traditional remedies for insomnia, as you don't appear to have it.

Are you tired? Do you feel sleep deprived? If not, then it sounds like you might actually be getting enough sleep.

If you are, then I wonder if there isn't something in your environment that's waking you, like a delivery truck, a bus, someone leaving to go to work.

I had sleeping problems before. They happened for a week. I could not be able to sleep. Everytime I would go to bed, I would fall sleep, then wake up after 10 or 30 minutes. Dont eat anything before going to sleep. Maybe you are too stressed. I dont know.

I'm curious about this too.

If you are not tired for the rest of your day, just make some use of this new found time. Do some homework or go to the gym and get a early start to your day.
If you feel ok after waking up at 4am, turn it into something productive.

Just a suggestion.

Man I wish I had those hours... I probably have insomia but I do it a lot for school but right now my hrs. are stay up til about 4 or 5 then get up at about 9:30

If I keep a consistent sleep schedule, I sooner or later end up not needing an alarm clock. Maybe the same thing happened to you by waking up at 4am for a few days in a row? Try going to sleep an hour earlier or later every day and see if that throws your internal clock out of whack from what it's currently set to.

no matter what time i go to sleep, i always wake up tired as hell at 6AM (time i have to wake up to go to school).

maybe this is a sleep problem too?

good call....8 hours a night is only a guide, its different for everyone. perhaps all YOU need is 5 hours....do you still feel tired after waking up?

Wow never thought of that, to tell u the truth i don't feel tired really. But it's just a pain in the ass to not be able to nething till I have to go to school.

When I was your age, I was the same way. I went to bed around 1:30 to 2:30 AM, after Letterman, and woke up around 6:20 AM. Today, I have sleeping disorders. Maybe seeing a doctor now is a good idea for you.

I take a 250 mg magnesium pill 1.5 hours before bed, and 1 mg of Lorazapam(sp?) just before I go to bed. The mag helps me get sleepy, and Lorazapam helps me stay asleep. I don't do this everyday, just when I have two, or three, bad nights in a row.

If you're waking up because of your alarm, you're most probably sleep deprived. Go to bed earlier.

Sound pretty odd too me. I know a guy who goes to bed at 4 every morning gets up at 7 am and its perfectly fine. Some people are just different If your not feeling abd it doesn really matter, just go to bed later.

no its not that, seeing as how i threw my alarm away a few years ago. i just wake up at 6 sharp and tired as hell no matter what time i go to sleep(ranges anywhere from 8PM to 4AM)
