am i the only one who thinks the standards look fine, granted their a little off the quality of the premiums but i dont think the standards look bad at all, in fact iv seen a few that look stunning, the audi tt german touring car for one looks great as does my 01 scooby impreza world rally car and gt 40 race car(1969).

All in all im quite happy with the standard cars, infact id sacrifice the updated premium cars to get more tracks added instead......in another thread myself and other forum user compiled a list of at least 15 tracks that have appeared in previous GT games but are missing from GT5 so the groundwork, art and concept for all those tracks are sitting on a PD server somewhere. would love to see them given some shine and added to the game

Id pay for that for sure!!!!

I'm simply not going to buy anything PD is selling until they finish the game I've alreeady bought from them. Sure I'd buy more premiums since we all knew that they would be limited, but if they expect me to dish out $$ for add-ons to a product that is unfinished they're nucking futs, thankfully I doubt they will do that. Never know though, PD has been doing some pants on head retarded stuff lately.

would you wait another year for it to be complete?

If you dont want it, dont buy it? You bought the disc of content you had when installing, anything else, patches, free DLC is bonus, noone is forcing you to pay extra.

Didn't the on the box feature list come up short of what was actually in the game though? We buy a product that promises more and delivers less (though I love it!) and I hope they don't charge for the extra...

My take is simple.

I paid full price for a game based on certain features and was lead to believe that past features would be enhanced not reduced (Remember when we where told "Best GT yet"??)

That being said I would also pay $5 to $10 for 5 or 10 PREMIUM DLC packs every 2 or 3 months.

But - the condition would be that they PATCH the rest of the game over time for free... the dodgy shadows, the missing replay management features, the missing HUD management options, missing races and GT4 style B-Spec abilities etc etc.

It would be a "give and take" - I give them money and in return they take it.. Wait?? What's in it fo rme then? Oh yes, that's right - MY sideof the deal would be a constant stream of updated PREMIUM full interior cars while the rest of the game engine is brought inline with the orginal promises.

This way we ALL win :)

sounds like you bought a REAL car too. Getting charged extra for oil changes, alignments, etc. lol. sorry for getting off topic but yeah. I'd pay for it because it's a car I have that you don't have ;)

Toyota Minolta Race Car & Lupo Cup Car.

Would have looked bad on a PS2.

I doubt I would pay for car DLC. Tracks yes, new championships yes, cars no.

Do you mean, would I like to wait another year before they released it? Meh, guess it wouldn't bother me too much, but I'd rather it be released when it was. Still, they're a company, and I am the consumer, they advertise something and I purchased it off of their claims. Sure I like the company, and am a huge fan of the series, but that doesn't change our relationship. I'm not cutting them any slack, and I'm not apologetic for it, it's not unreasonable either. The video game industry is one of the few, if not the only industry where they can sell you an unfinished product and the other consumers of that product will berate you when you conplain. F that. I'm an avid firearm collector, I've been screwed by a few big name producers of firearms, guess what I did? I didn't buy another firearm from those manufacturers and I warned other firearm enthusiasts not to do the same.

I'm sick of people jumping down the throats of us who feel screwed, it's like Don Quixote battling windmills, we won't stop, people's efforts to make us stop are fruitless. This is the market, and when the market's pissed no amount of neigh-saying will fix it, only when the majority of consumers are pleased will it stop. Don't like it? Deal with it.

Meh.

So much butthurt in this thread.

I paid £37 for the game.

I'd quite happily pay for anything else they want to add,

I think the game is great as is. Anything else is a bonus to me.

It's not like a few quid is breaking the bank for some DLC.

See, but now, I have to buy it... lol :)

It's the principle, it has nothing to do with the cost. You don't incentivise companies properly when you allow them to nickle and dime you for every little spec of content.

It's not just about the game to me, it comes down to repect for the customer, that's pretty much what customer service is all about. The video game industry has little respect for their customer in general. I'll abstain from purchasing a product that I really like if I am dissatisfied with the way the company conducts business. Not to say that I'm to that point yet with PD, if they play their hand right I'll continue to be a repeat customer, if they don't well then I'll wash my hands of them. Market forces at work does not equal butthurt.

Did Kaz say that we have to buy for the new premium cars? That would be not fair, because its like selling half the game for full price and then you have to buy for the other half!!!!

:D

A countach would be cool as well.

I really don't want to see another 27 Skyline GTR versions. :P
Some old muscle cars, some trucks maybe.

I'd like to see that buick '62 special as a Premium. I'd make that a pimp-mobile.
I'd also like to see that Honda (I think it was) ZERO ONE concept car as premium, Nissan GT1-something-something-something- road car, Jaguar E-type, etc... Mainly a bunch of unique vehicles, doesn't need to be a pile of supercars or anything, just not a slightly different looking version of the same model car that we've sen a thousand times.

And putting some nice new wheels on standard cars wouldn't hurt either.

a $0,50 per car would be a reasonable price

Time to scrape together $400 then..
OCD's are expensive

If they're only gonna do a few cars that I like I'll probably pay. But I think they should do it for free, since the lack of premium cars is because they ran out of time, so since they're now swimming in money they ought to do it for free, because the general attitude towards the game will become positive, so they'll probably sell more copies afterwards.

Ahh yes, the customer satisfaction, word of mouth business model is much more appealing than the smoke and mirrors nickle and dime model.

I am upset with the gaming industry these days. They make a game and release it before it's finished so that the customers are forced to ultimately beta test it for the first couple of months that it's out.

If the internet was not a part of the gaming world than developers would have to make damn sure the game was complete before it was released to the masses. Now, like I said, they can just release a 3/4 complete game and patch it as they please.

The sad truth is, we SHOULD have gotten 1000+ premium cars, but because of the internet and greedy gaming companies who wanted to release the game for the Christmas onslaught of spending, we are given a semi-complete game where they charge you money for patches that they'll rename as DLC.

In that regard, I wish more developers were like Blizzard. Their games keep getting patched for, well, decades (literally), but they're finished upon release.

StarCraft II was one of the most polished games I've seen recently upon release. Kinda funny that a PC game does that better than console games nowadays...

And the fact you will still get quite alot of people that won't have the inet in their homes.

I'm about 99.73% sure that PD will NOT charge for updated cars. They made it sound like they will be part of updates, not down-loadable content from the PSN store. This means that whenever you update versions of the game, the cars will be patched. I can't see them adding a bunch of premiums on the PSN for download, especially if they're going to update many of the cars. Even if they come in packs, my bet is that they'll be free.

New cars? Now they might charge for that, but given that they are going to release some free DLC cars already shows that they might not charge at all.

I pretty sure we are owed some free downloads. Most of us paid 1 1/2 times the price of the game already, $30 for prologue and $60 for, the still unfinished, GT5. Maybe some of you don't feel that way, but I feel like I paid $90 for an unfinished game. Something ought to be free.

I'm with most people. I can't see myself paying for a standard model that was already in the game and has been upgraded to premium. I'd pay for brand new cars if they were models that I liked.

I believe they should invest their time in GT6 on the PS3, and release it earlier.

Downloads should focus on solving issues, not increasing content IMO.

When interviewers ask Kaz about DLC, he always say he's never really thinking about it. I think he assumes that when he's asked about DLCs, people are talking about the paid ones. I mean surely, he probably expected that not everything in GT5 could be finished on time, and must be finished through updates. I think these are one of those updates. I mean these upgraded premium stuff isn't exactly "additional" content, nor the other things that are promised or what's stated in the retail box.

If it's paid, it would have to be an extra thing, not "upgraded" or "promised" features. This is what I'm hoping.

I agree. I honestly think they should just support the game until the end of the PS3s lifespan with DLC and expansion pack downloads. Kind of like an MMO.

Also, I don't think people wanna know how much I'd pay for a premium "Shuichi Shinego Version Toyota Trueno". The number is pretty high up there, because it's really the only car I care about in the game. Other ones are fun to play around with, sure, but that's the car I do thousands of time trial runs in and race friends with.

Well, for me there are too many factors to know now what I will do.

First, if they can be bought individually then I'll buy the few that I really want as long as the price is reasonable, regardless of what other problems remain in the game.

However, if they are expensive, either as expensive expansion packs or if they cost too much individually, then I won't invest unless I see clear progress that they are also fixing the other problems with the game (i.e. different online physics. Cars reverting to default settings online. Too few tracks and an almost complete removal of a certain type of track; the small tight city track. Way too few A-Spec events. etc. etc. etc.). I just can't see investing any substantial amount of money unless they are also addressing these serious issues.
