Yeah, the whole tobacco thing makes me nervous. One of the coolest things about F1 is the seemingly endless supply of money and the idea that no expense is spared to make the cars as fast as possible. With the U.S. economy in as bad of shape as it is, it seems it will be very difficult for the teams to find sponsors so easily willing to dump millions and millions of dollars into racing (i.e. Ferrari and Marlboro). :nervous:

I'm going to be sick. This is partly why I lean conservative, the damned whining of some know-it-all social activists that pressure or inspire politicians to adopt their half-witted ideas that ignore personal responsibility. In their brilliant world they decide that it is morally wrong to put money over people, agreed, but it goes further, for it is of little doubt that when companies cannot meet later expenses and regulations because of that preference, these companies will be slammed in every way they can think of, in part the inneficiency may be true, but it is just as possible that some people are just plain stupid.

I really do not give a damn what an industry has studied, sorry if that is not caring enough, but maybe a bit of indifference will put sense in some people. "Oh, no, tobacco is targetting Jr." "The're studying my boy." Uh huh. I assume Jr. has a brain and smart parents/guardians?

Well, we have a full ban on tobacco advertising here in Australia - and the cars run full warpaint anyway.

Even if Spa is out, it will only be for a couple of years as tobacco advertising will be banned in F1 from 2006 as part of its EC concessions.

Indeed. Jordan, my opinion is that this is just the usual sabre-rattling that goes on. Threatening to cancel Spa because of that country's government having a hard-line stance on tobacco is just the same as threatening Silverstone with cancelling because of the traffic issues.

Pre-season nonsense, I would say. Nearly went to Spa this year, but a covered stand pass was £250!

I hope you're right, I'd also like to see this circuit in real life... :nervous:
