Hey guys. HPD ARX server up right now at Mid Ohio. 60 minute practice, 10 minute quali, and 50 minute race. Host name is :Shinya Michimi

Man! I'd love to join in, unfortunatelly I'm stuck in class for another 4hrs...

I tried out the solstice at summit point raceway last night, and all I will say is................I hate that damn car. Drives like a 1960s Cadillac, like a boat. Granted I didn't mess with the suspension but wow it was bad.

A guy and I were in practice and we spun out on the same corner at the same time in the same way. As we were sitting there up against the wall I hear his mic turn on and him say "these cars really do su#%, don't they?" lmao, too bad I don't have a mic so I could agree with him.

If you hit the letter "t" on your keyboard, you could have typed back to him

I just ran out of gas and lost the lead with two turns left at the end of a 28 lap race! :ouch:
Damn Marcos Ambrose told me I had two laps of fuel with two laps left, I guess I better take one more gallon next time. :D

I am pretty sure the Star Mazda is what I'll use for a while, at least until I get a B license.

Those of you who have laptops plugged in to TV's what cable are you using? I was thinking about getting an HDMI cable, since both my computer and tv have hdmi ports, or is that overkill?

(I did create a thread on this but the computer section doesn't get many hits)

Also is the dfgt fine or is it too cheap for iRacing

Well, I have my desktop plugged into my TV with an hdmi cord, and I enjoy it. Never tried any other setup though so I may not be a real authority on the subject. Dfgt works well enough for my purposes, but I've been told the brake pedal on it isn't a good as others, and it is pretty tough to be consistant with.

Also, to avoid a double post, I ran my first C license race in the Trucks at Michigan, managed a top 5 in a car that was barely fast enough for the top 10, so I'm pretty happy with that. Led a few laps during pit stops and generally had a good time. Was a little dissapointed in the SoF for the race, but I guess I can't complain.

Just thought I'd share some of the various screenshots I have taken in my time on iRacing, a few are edited in Photoshop.

I would agree with the pedals being kind of weird, that's what I was afraid of, thanks

I have seen a mod that uses those bungie straps to give the brake pedal more resistance on the DFGT. Don't know how well it works as I don't have the DFGT. Just thought I'd throw that out there if anyone wants to look it up.

Or he could buy Clubsport pedals and hook them up to his DFGT steering wheel. Then run the clubsport pedals program to get brake rattle on while tire lock up.

I have one(DFGT). I used it once and stuck in the closet.:yuck:
My suggestion is to buy a G27, save the bungie for keeping the tail gate up on the old chevy.

 Yes the DFGT is not so good, but only because of the pedals and those paddles....erm, buttons are ridiculous. I had to use this wheel one time and was not a good experience when I'm used to the G25.

Like shhiny48 said the clubsport pedals would be the best set-up if you've got a DFGT.

Hey, post 302. My favorite engine.:p

I know I'm a few pages late but on the FOV subject, you can change it on the fly while racing by pressing "[" and "]". Also, Shift + [ and ] will change the height of the camera.

I bought the Skippy last Sunday so I can run a private league championship that will start at the end of the month. Just got to learn how to drive it now.

if you have HDMI ports always use HDMI ports, they are the best connection you can get.

Ok, what's a mediocre graphics card to run iRacing.... Or should I be looking at something else? I have an NVIDIA GeForce gt 450m or something like that

I'm running this on a fairly old computer, specs as follows:

AMD Athlon x2 5200 (?) 2.7ghz
1gb Ram
70 gig HD
GeForce 8400gs 512mb (recognized as 768mb)

That runs the game at 100fps with all low graphics. As it gets hotter it does lockup rarely :/.
Desperately in need of an upgrade aren't I :p.

Oh, ok then, so it's adjustable like in FSX, I guess all I need now is an HDMI cable and I'll get it

I'm interested to see how my MacBook Pro works. I just partitioned the HD and am downloading all my iRacing data. Here's my specs;

- Intel Core i7 - 2635QM CPU @ 2.00 GHz
- 4 GB of Ram
- AMD Radeon HD 6490 Graphics Card

I think it should work.

I have:

AMD Phenom X4 Black Edition @3.3ghz
4gb of Ram
nVidia GeForce GTX 550ti 2gb

160fps on maximum awesome settings.

I'm not running maximum settings but I have the limit at 84 fps just so I don't over do my computer. I have the important things on Maximum settings and it seems to work just fine. That's lucky for me haha. I think iRacing needs to update there system requirements. they say you only need a 128 mb pixel shader, I have a 256 mb and it isn't running as well as I was hoping. I guess I should have gotten the 1gb graphics card option :/

2 GTX 580
6gb RAM
i7 950 4.2GHz

Crowds set to low quality (high means that their backs are rendered which is pointless from a driving point of view)
Shadow volumes of for tracks like SPA, Suzuka, Okayama, Road America.
Steering wheel off
virtual mirror off
Event low quality for the above tracks except Road America

But then again i need to feed three screens trying to keep the FPS at 100+.
