As for all this new car talk, it's great that they are getting a ton of new cars but, I wish they would stop. The participation at the moment is already pathetic, and adding more cars and more series is only going to make things worse. Not to mention most of us with real life experience in some of these cars will tell you that at the moment, they are losing realism very quickly. It might be better to get into Project C.A.R.S. At this point.

I think there's something wrong with the hosted page, it's not even loading, are there sessions for you guys

I don't thinking adding new content is going to hurt anything really. Hopefully more content = more new members in the long run. Personally I don't see a huge problem with participation, it's just in some series (Lotus 79, Sprint Car, etc, etc) you have to treat it more like a league. So run practice sessions all week long and then have one or two big races at the end of the week. Each series has enough people to pull off a couple big "SOF" races each week, and I think that's plenty.

iRacing can't just stop releasing new content. Although some members are happy with the content we have, more content equals more new members coming in.

Something I wish iRacing would do is take the series that are REALLY struggling and give away the car for free to help increase participation in that series and also bring in more new members. The more free content they can give the more value people will find in joining.

You know, right now the only car we're missing is a DTM car to have every major road racing seriesrepresented. If that is in fact the BMW in the works they really need to start bringing in multiple manufacturers after that or particioatun will indeed start to suffer.

Well remember, Steve Myers didn't really say there was a BMW in the works, he said they were working on a deal but it's not for sure that it will happen.

If iRacing takes advantage of the new weight ballast feature and maybe adds engine restrictions as well, I think we could eliminate a few of the one-make series and consolidate them into multi-car single-class series.

The McLaren should be pretty easy to match with the Ford GT using ballast alone, but yeah if we get some type of restrictor system it makes it so much better!

The McLaren will be faster than the GT.

So I'm currently #1 overall in the Mustang Challenge. :D

How'd you manage that already?

He's Fast ! :D:lol:👍 I think there's another GTP member in the top 25 too but I'm not sure

anyway, I can see the hosted sessions now...

Just ran 3 laps at brands hatch in the Ford GT, I really like that track now (for the elevation changes), it's my next big discovery

Is it twitchy like the riley and GT at lock to lock slides if you know what I mean? I was thinking about getting it too

If you like a good arcade racer then pCARS would be a solid choice.

Define arcade racer? Because at the moment, the Beta for Project CARS feels a heck of a lot more realistic to me than iRacing at the moment. The lack of feel from the tires on every Tire model iRacing has ever used is just a joke if you ask me. Had a discussion with a bunch of my iRacing friends that race cars in real life. They are focusing on the wrong things at the moment. In our minds at least...

im really with you guys. I don't see the point of adding cars at this rate. ive started racing ovals in the trucks and the nationwide. almost EVERY race has SPLITS. you just don't get that in most of the other series i have tried. i would love the road racing side to be like this, but they keep adding cars, and tracks they seem to rarely use. it would be better in my eyes to start updating all of the tracks full time and not part time.

Anyone raced the Caddy on Mid-Ohio yet? Even a bit to much gas or steering input and you're going sideways..

I pretty much refuse to race at Mid-Ohio at all, I hate that track for whatever reason I can't make anything decent happen.

That Road America setup I posted for the Mustang seems to be useless at Mosport, even though I currently have the 11th fastest quali lap. I ran the first race session of the week last night and was only a little bit slower than Nicholas Vandal, until about lap 8 when I started losing at least half a second per lap and it only got worse. I think I was running two seconds worse per lap than my earlier laps. And on lap 17 I put one tire off at Turn 2. Spun into the wall. Drivable car, no meatball flag, but now it was even slower. Lost two positions down to 4th place and finished there.

I'm not sure if the damage made the tire temps worse, but the left front had the most heat on the outside, then the middle, then the inside. I recall numbers like 231, 228, 214. Could have been caused by the toe/camber getting messed up in my wreck, or I need a different ARB/camber setup.

What kind of lap times are you hitting Eric? I hit 1:33.914 last night with a slightly adjusted "stock" setup. I lose the most time in Quebec Corner (Turn 3) I think, I can't quite figure out a line for it, although it seems going wide a bit, then apexing later than what you would think seems to work, at least in my experience.

The iRacing crew at Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve, Montreal, today, doing what they do best. ;) 👍

No doubt it will be a long time until we see it for sale, but at least we know it's coming. <excited>

We could actually see it next season if they'd step on it, but I think it's safe to say we'll have it on January!

I can't wait for Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve. That is my favorite road course and one of my favorite tracks.
