Just hit a 1:02.3 at Okayama in the MX-5...

My fastest lap yet.. :D

Qualified 3rd, now to start from pits :dopey:

How are you guys going so fast?! Is there a trick or something for getting around? My fastest is a 1:04.3**

If he was hitting them in the Roadster then well done to him

The trick is brake early for the last turn and from 1-3 just keep a high but steady pace 👍

Just won my first race :D By 0.095 nonetheless :dopey:

Congrats! :)

Also, from Race Pro, I know a bit about Okayama. Or, wait, is that the other one? Anyone have on-board video?

It's the short course :) And thanks btw! 👍

EDIT: How does he have a faster average lap when I won? :odd:

Super congrats! I hope to get a win soon!

So the roadster is slower?

Starting position. The same thing happens in GT5, in B-spec, when the game starts the AI in Turn 4 of Laguna Seca, and I start at the start/finish line. They start with such a hefty advantage, that I end up something like 30 or 40 seconds behind. It's not a problem in A-Spec, but, my bobs are slow.

The same thing could be relevant in iRacing; if you qualied, and the Spanish man didn't, he would have to pass an entire field, giving you a chance to run slower, more consistent laps, in the lead, in open air, before you, inevitably, won. :)

Going to try my first race in the SRF on Limerock tonight, the car felt fantastic in qualifying, it takes some getting used to in order to drive it quick, but it handles so well. I'm looking forward to it, gonna drive at about 75% and see where I end up.

My personal best is 1'01.685, but ive seen guys run almost half a second faster than that. You really have to take advantage of the mx-5's ability to just swing itself around the course. Trail braking and using your momentum to swing the back end just enough to turn through the corners. Its a fun car to drive once you get that down, turns 2 and 3 are probably the trickiest.

Im currently doing the SRF @ limerock if you guys want to try that series. Very touchy car to drive but ive been able to get a stable tune on it, hopefully i can run in the top 5 consistently.

I heardabout 2-4 seconds slower 👍

Also how do you protest/report a driver?

Sweet maybe ill see you out there? Add me, Kevin Hennings

Wich one? Limerock or Zolder? That configuration of Limerock is no longer used, now they just use the first chicane wich rejoins a bit further ahead of the one we have. So basically we have the main track with a older chicane configuration, the main track itself is still the same.

Ours is actually much older and doesn't have any of the currently used chicanes for ALMS and such.

The chicane at the right at about 0:38 is what was used for ALMS this year, and not the second chicane.

Whoa! Surprised to see Trans Am not use that chicane, driving one of those dinosours arrund there must be an absolute rush!!

Another sub par performance on my part, i was running so well until the car in front of me lost control which made me lose it and i lost my concentration and kept falling back and back... i dont drive very well when im angry lol.

Race was working out fine until I spun it all under my own power and kissed a wall just enough to damage my left front suspension.. I started 2nd and got the jump on first place, battled with him for a bit then started to pull away, had a 3.5 second lead now and went in to hot and that was it.. I came home 8th after a 4 minute pit stop.. I love the car though, can't wait for the next race in it, I'm not going to let it bite me this time ;)

Let the grown ups work it out. Not that they were FOR SURE, involved in the same crash, BUT... :D

Anyone know how to watch a replay from iRacing?

Oh I mean I have it saved and sent in a protest email, would just like to see it for myself again though.

If you saved the replay go to the "events" tab and you will see replays in the pull down menu

Thanks mate:tup

Was I right to protest against this?

Should I protest against this?

I would have went high if you could. I'm not sure about protesting, maybe ask the guy you want to protest against what his take on the accident was and go from there?

He could have just been trying to turn around by spinning the tires, and it just went terribly wrong. In my 2 days of iracing, I've figured out that when people have just been in a crash, their logic goes out the window.

Sorry worded it wrong, I mean was I right to protest.. :dopey:
And I thought at the time, the car that went high was stopped there for some reason

Arguably, you are right. If you spin/crash on an oval, I laugh at you, and then say "was it that necessary?" Spinning alone is a mistake. Being bumped, is a mistake. Being in an accident is a mistake. I see no way around faulting him for that, except that maybe I'm a bit biased against oval racing.

Seriously, though. The best option, if you spin on an oval, is to take up as little room as possible. With that many cars, on such a small track, you won't get a gap. He could have, and should have stayed below the yellow line, while sixteen point turning.

Nothing is going to happen. Nim is going to dismiss it as a racing incident.

Going to re-activate my account next week or the week after that. I need to buy a gaming headset (compatible with xbox also).

Yeah looks like he was just trying to spin the car around and get back in line, not the smartest thing to do at a short track like usa international. Your protest will probably just give the guy a "warning" on safe driving. It does suck when that happens though, im trying like heck to get out of D class and below races just to avoid these type incidents.

I've been looking too, all I need is surround sound, PS3/ PC compatibility and nothing really jumps out as a winner, some have great functionality but are made of crap plastic, and others are polar opposites, and others don't have the compatibility it's driving me insane! Oh well, there's other things I'd like more, like a cockpit preferably 80/20 and the DSD shifter, so I might get a Grandstand next week. IDK

I gave up on the PS3 compatibility since the only game I play online is GT5. I just want Xbox (I play all FPS games on it) and PC (FPS/iRacing). I'm getting myself a SteelSeries Spectrum 5XB. They look nice and they have a lot of good reviews.

Yeah, honestly that was a waste of Nim's time. That probably happens in 80% of the rookie Street Stock races. Maybe more now that its truly a Rookie-only event.
