I'm currently working my way up to Class C oval license. I only have the basic content for oval so my original strategy was to get my SR up to 4.0 and do four IndyCar oval fixed races to get the MPR. But in the meantime they've created a Street Stock C series which made things easier for me as I don't own any of the tracks on the IndyCar calendar.
So this weekend I managed to get my SR up to 4.40, now I only need 4 races in the Street Stock C series. A friend told me to do four time trials because it's safer but oval time trials are just way too boring, specially with the SS at Charlotte.
Races are more exciting and the last few I did were all clean. I used to think it was best to start at the back of the pack to try to avoid incidents but starting in front is way safer IMO. I actually did 5 oval races in a row in Charlotte with 0 incidents. Started in second or third every time, won twice and got second on the others.
My iRating is up to 22xx now which helps to get a safer grid too I guess.
By the way, do any of you have a good Street Stock setup for Charlotte? I think I'll just use the fixed one, don't know if a different setup makes such a difference at this track since it's always foot down on the gas but I'd appreciate any input on this. I'll try some races this afternoon.
