I call a bit of BS in those words! It was announced a year ago and it fell on the back seat!
A few seasons ago when they where using the oval cars at Road America the first few hours you needed to own all content. It only took a few hours before they caught up to the mistake and fixed it!

After a :censored:load of people complained too... But at least it'll happen because now if they release 4 car hosted sessions w/o the ownership update, they'll be in deep 🤬 too

Argh! I am struggling big time with the McLaren at Mosport. This is the fastest car I have used in the service, and also the first where I have been stuck near the bottom of the time sheets. I can't get to grips with how the car reacts when it is pushed, it seems to have lots of grip and then none at all. Also, you cant use the engine to help slow the car, as it refuses to let me shift down sometimes, which screws me up at Moss corner, as it doesnt allow me to stop in time. I reckon my laptimes would improve by 2-3 tenths if the gearbox wasn't weird. Anyone got any tricks for this car/track combo? I'm running mostly 1:18s and 1:19s, with the occasional 1:17.

On a better note, a second place finish at Mid Ohio in the SRF boosted me to over 2000 iRating for the first time! Unfortunatly I seem to always get put in the top split, so I rarely have the chance to fight for the win.

The Diff is key to that car, I kind of hate it and feels kind of arcady how when you step on it it picks the front tires off the ground and tightens the turn radius... That's what keeps me from loving that car!
The fast guys exploit that and use gery very low diff values, but I completely hate it so I tend to increse the value quite a lot thus it makes me a lot slower when compared to the top guys wich are indeed the creame of the crop in sim racing.

The Mclaren feels to me like a toned down version of that on GT5 seasonal they had about a year ago right when suits and helmets came out and they had the Subaru at Laguna Seca on sports hards and not very many people could get gold for the special suit set. Anyway that GT5 subaru pushed so bad that it was undriveable, but the mp4 is just rather just plain weird like sophisticated crazy taxi. I don't mean to be harsh and the car isn't bad, that's just what I feel like when I drive it. The brakes are confusing with the pads and downshifting feels like 30% luck to me

Jav, I don't quite understand, if you're tenths faster with a low diff why not be fast too? What is it doing that makes it feel weird to you

I agree solid like a rock! im still getting used to it, when i first got this car it was a beast to control.
Now i got it calmed down, i was overdriving it a little, lol

I just don't like the unnatural arcady feel of it, the car on a high diff value feels like a real car, it pushes but with good technique you can manage it and be fast. On a value lower than 95 it just feels stupid, the damn thing will do a 180 at 60mph going on a straight line, seriously it's like the thing picks the front off the ground and steers by speed differential on the rears whatever steering angle you had in turn in becomes totally irrelevant! It just is a total deal braker for me on the immersion side.

Week 13 is by far the worst period in iRacing. It is an SR and iR killer.
It is the 'Gap Week' between seasons where only the fun races and other series' (can't remember exactly which ones) run. It is full of idiots and Rookies that crash, bang and destroy whatever they can.

My best tip for Week 13, Avoid it, and take the week off.

To the guys having problems with downshifting on the mclaren. Make sure you have all the clutch/driving aids like auto blip and auto clutch turned OFF. The mclaren is like the F1 and HPD. You run it with no driving aids and you can still up and downshift with out using the clutch. If you have a clutch aid on the mclaren it won't let you downshift properly.

I think alot of people use week 13 to practice for week 1 of whatever series they are running, which is why everyone seems really fast on week 1 of a new season.

Week 13 go for the "Fun" series, avoid at all costs anything official! If you absolutely need to join to do some SR repair forget about racing, start from the pits and have a good 10 seconds from the car in front and behind you! Week 13 is no time to worry about your iRating simply accept the fact that you are going to loose it to gain the SR you need to keep your license.
My SR repair is being done now so I don't have to worry about the W13 madness!

I know your talking about the fun races where SR isn't affected, but I still wouldn't call it 'Relaxing' .

Gotcha, then try Kay's setup in that same site. That might suit your style better.

Hmm, thinking of that or GTR2 or rFactor. I think GTR2 is a Paid DLC for Race 07 which confuses me on price, and rFactor I'm about to lookinto, I have about 5 euro/7 dollars to spend on a old prepaid credit card.

Edit: rFactor is $30 and GTR2 has no connection with Race 07.. Still no clue on price, any help much appriciated.

If I were you, (if possible) I would put the money that's on the card on my iracing account. That way it'll be a nice surprise when you go to purchase new stuff and you have 7 bucks in there!

By April I'll be set for a long while as I will be getting 20 a week till I get paid back my 100ish and get maybe another 100 on from birthday money then and I'm set for 2014
