I heard that it was really hard for a single card (even top of the line model) to be able to run high settings on iRacing while in Triple Screen mode.

I've got two gaming computers, one with a i7-2600k and 7970 the other with a i5-3570k and GTX 680. They both run iRacing very well, my only real limitation is that I cannot run super sample AA as high as I want to. If I want to maintain decent FPS (around 80 or so) I have to limit myself to 4x SSAA. It looks beautiful, and the only graphics options I have off is 2-pass shadows, more shadows, and low crowd detail.

If you run standard MSAA instead, you can run 120fps fine even at Suzuka or Spa on either of these cards.

If this helps any my computer runs a AMD FX(tm)-4100 Quad Core Processor 3.60 GHz, 4GB RAM and a AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series graphics card almost full settings (No sure what I have off.) on any car/track combo usually over 100fps, lowest I've seen on it really has been 80ish.

Only on a single monitor though.

My attempt at trying to get promoted to D road tonight with rookie promotions may be done. The last two races I have been stuck around drivers racing too hard for a position that is not first. In the last MX-5 race, I was in 5th place running behind 4th when he passed a lap car. It was not safe enough for me to make the pass so I waited a few turns later. 4th got a 4 second gap between me by the time I passed the lap car. The next lap later I was only a second behind him. I knew he needed to make a mistake when I was close enough for me to make the pass and that happened on turn 6 on lap 9. He missed his apex and was really slow on track out and I took advantage of it got beside him. He decides to run me all the way to the sand entering turn 7 when I tried to brake for the corkscrew. On exit of it. I tried to get back on the throttle but he hit me and I got the cutting the track penalty.

I was only trying to get by since he was slowing me down and I waited until the safest spot to do it but I guess he thought it was a race for 1st. Now I need a 0.16 SR gain to get promoted.

EDIT: I did not make it. 2.99 SR. I'm going to do a Time trial to try and get that extra 0.01

Yes, me if i can get up on time, 5am race au time

Ouch, but I mainly race with you guys and late night wes coasters. There aren't ton of guys racing oval at 3-6 am.

Well it all depends on your time zone. Most of the time people from the US time zones are considered first, and then Europe, and then Asia/Australia. We rarely get good times to race. Like if I want to race in the Proto/GT Open series hot split race each week, I have to stay up till 2:30am to start the race and it's nearly 4am by the time it's over. I did it for one week and then gave up.

that is a bummer. Could you have backed off more if no one was behind you and if it was clear he was trying hard to get back on the track? Chalk one up for experience on rookies being unpredictable. (wait until a rookie >1 lap down races you and takes you out! aaaarghhhh! LOL).

You can get promoted instantly if you get your SR up to or past 4.00 and your MPR is fulfilled.

Good week this week. Lots of series' running tracks I have. Races south Boston in the late model to 4th and the street stock at Bristol to 5th. Good fun.

It's weird I'm struggling to go back to road racing, bitten the oval bug quite badly.

Decent splits Sunday afternoons also if you are talking about fixed.

Promoted to D oval myself. Got it up to 3.60 then one race one guy wrecks me 3 times... Lowered it by .026... But still got promoted. 👍

I got the .01 in the time trial and got promoted right before promotions took place. My quest to get a c license by the end of the season is still looking good.

I'm doing the March on Michigan race but I do not know if I will be in the same race. I have a D license so if any of you guys have one then we have a chance at being in the same split. I know if I can avoid mayhem then I can get a good finish.

Splits are determined by IRating, not license class.

This is true normally, but for special events they usually have rookie and d class guys grouped together in different splits then A-C in their own splits.

•Race Event: Rookie & D license – Saturday, March 30th, 2013, 20:00 GMT / 3:00 PM ET
•Race Event: C, B, A, Pro license – Saturday, March 30th, 2013, 20:00 GMT / 3:00 PM ET
This is what I meant. I will only race with rookie and D license level since I have a D license.

Looks like we will be getting the Toyota Gen 6 kinda soon 👍

Please bring the truck to while we are at it! I like the Chevy but I like the Toyota better.

I forgot just how loose Michigan's truck setup is, I like loose but that one takes some getting used to.

I've had some issues lately at Charlotte with weird wrecks where we never touched at all. One I saved with drifting through 3/4 but next big one was big wreck.

I like the Toyota better as well. I think it will be a little while before we get Ford and Toyota in the trucks and nationwide but at least we will be getting a Gen 6. Its the best looking one of the 3 I think.

10-4 did not even check the event.

No worries. Its only like that for the ISR special events and I think the world tour events.

Dam, that's 80 quid roughly plus the car

60 quid to renew the dam thing to :D I wish I was made of money or iRacing were a little bit more fair with pricing!

If you consider it as a game you shouldn't really play it, I spent 686.19 USD on it so far and I do not have it all. Compare it to another game and it looks ridicules. But if I compare it to my last hobby witch was high end car stereo. That amount wasn't enough to buy the cables used in a car. So it's a expensive game, but a pretty cheap hobby.
