I'd get into the Grand-Am races, but I should learn how to control the MX-5 first :(

You'll get there, it's a love/hate sort of cat in my opinion.

Haha! That's awesome Shinya!! Congratz!!
That shot on black and white would make a pretty sweet poster for a man cave/game room!

I know the feeling. My 3 year old climbs into my rig when I am trying to race. She won' t take no for an answer! They are great at this age.

My two year old son loves playing racing games in my cockpit with me. He's not great at driving yet, he can handle ovals pretty decently, but he loves to crash since the wheel goes crazy.

Those are some cool shots Kamui

Does anybody else here modify their setups by adding positive camber on the right side to race at Lime Rock?
Right now in the SM I'm at -2.3 on the left and -.9 on the right side camber and I dropped 100 lbs in the RR spring. I'm at a 47.399 compared to the fastest I've seen at 46.04. I'm normally 3-5 seconds off on road courses though, so this is pretty good for me.

Is that just me or is that typical of everyone to sacrifice the left hander in setup like that?

Meh who really cares? Might not be the highest SOF but a solid result is a solid result.

I wasn't criticizing the result in any way. It's just been awhile since I've seen the average SOF below the 2000's. Although, I guess Grand Am is only a C class series so it's probably more of a normality.

I know you weren't, just putting my point out there..

Well I need to gt my iRating up a lot..

Should have easily won though, the 5 spins killed me..

I guess below 2000 iRating is normal in the Grand Am stuff. I just checked my last two races and they were both below 2000.

Just finished 3rd. Totally messed up the start and was paying too much attention to the car to the left of me rather than the car in front and rear ended the car in front of me. Felt so bad. Luckily for both of us, we didn't have much damage and were able to continue on.

Anyone doing Grand Am race now?
full disclosure - I am a very slow pilot.

I am running the Grand Am series this season. I run the DP car because it is very fun!! I can see why it is so popular; fast, handles decently with iracing setups (I do not know how to make setups).

I did manage to get my first DP podium last week with a second place at Suzuka (love the track). I was very slow but managed to keep the car on the track and avoid being wrecked by the McClaren pilots whilst passing. slow and steady....I think the winner was about 60 seconds ahead of me! LOL

I recommend trying the DP once you feel confident with car control.
:)

edit...what type of controller are you using for iRAcing? I was complete rubbish when I had my logitech DFP. Once I got a logitech G27 I was much more consistent and crashing less often. a better controller is not a cure since there are many fast pilots still using the logitech DFP and DFGT (though even ray alfala got rid of his and is now using a Fanatec CSW :) )

I use an old DF Pro. I just ordered a g27 though. Man they seem to be hard to get nowdays. I had to look around a bit.

Is there a way to record with Fraps and avoid all the lag I keep getting? I'm trying different FPS settings and all the footage is way to laggy...

You might have to tone down the in game replay settings if your computer can't handle recording.

The biggest thing for me though is NTMv5. They said that was the only thing holding up the L49, so we can assume that it's on that car. Now the question is, which other cars will be getting NTMv5 to start?

Most importantly would be seeing if NTMv5 fixes the low speed issues on road cars, as are already (to my knowledge) for the MX5.

Stupid question but What week is it right now?

Week 11. When does iRacing usually release the Week 13 schedule and next season's schedule?

Nice thanks, i'd like to start planning out what tracks, etc I'll need for next season.. I'm "patiently" waiting for the Kia as well...

I'm guessing the 2 Lotus cars at Spa...?
Waiting for the Kia here too, but for some reason I don't think we are getting it in this build...

Finally got a Grand-Am race in last night, saw that there was going to be almost 30 people in the race so I figured it would be a big single split. Sadly, the race split and it was a much smaller race. I wish races like that wouldn't split, the split threshold should be something like 20 of each car per race.
