I'm still trying to decide between the Cadillac and the DP for the race this evening.. I'm more consistent in the DP and it's easier to drive, but the Cadillac is a fun car to drive at the Glen and it races well.. Hmmm.

I was gonna do the Cadillac, but after I did some practice I realized there's no way I'd last 2 hours, so I'll be racing the Mclaren.

Good luck everybody!

My race was weird but I didn't last more than 45 minutes if that.

I started lasted in the DP's in my split (I'm slow and I don't push way too hard), but we all were talking about being easy into 1. Well that didn't last granted I had space to just slow and move to avoid it while couple guys got tangled into the esses. Finally got up to 5th by lap 2 and had a few mistakes of my own by not slowing enough or spun avoiding some guys wrecking, just quit because of all the crap.

Was in split 9 with Mac K, although he was in the DP and I was in the McLaren.
I started 2nd, and was 3rd after the 1st corner. By lap 2 I was in 2nd, and on lap five I passed for the lead at the end of the straight. From there on it was pretty straightforward, I had a comfortable 5 second gap to 2nd by the time of the pitstop. I made a mistake and spun about 5 laps into the new stint, and my lead totally disappeared.
I had a great fight for a few laps, and managed to pull away and get the win!

Was a lot of fun, my first win in the McLaren as well. :)

Nice Job. Congratulations!

So you saw my little meltdown?

I was in the DP, I started 6th and dropped back a few place and gradually worked my way up. About 20 minutes in I was in 2nd place and was catching 1st but I was taking it easy. I caught him and we battled for almost an hour. 3rd place caught us with about 45 minutes to go, so I had to get around the guy I was battling. I finally did and I started to reel 1st back in. I caught up to him just as are tanks were almost empty so I followed him into the pits and he beat me out. I stayed in 2nd for a bit when a lapped DP came out of the pits and was in front of me. I caught his draft on the straight and I thought he'd let me go like everyone else had previously, he didn't.. no big deal, but then he kept racing me and he was holding up my progress, I was going to type and ask nicely if I could pass when I lost control of my car, banged my right front off a wall and that ended my race there.. I finished 14th several laps down. I'm just annoyed because I had a shot at the win and was doing so well and if not the win, a podium for sure. Is there another race scheduled for tomorrow? Congrats on your win Aaron.

In the Caddy it all went pear shaped on the pace lap in my split. One of the Mclarens backed off just after turn 4 to split them from the DPs. This caused an accordion effect with about 6 cars (including myself) getting damaged before we even got a green flag. So I was already 4 or so laps down before I got out of pits. Around lap 17 I let one of the other Caddys pass me on the inside at the carousel. He loses it , hits inside wall and takes me out. Another 7 minutes in pits. :ouch:
From there on I just lapped to recover some SR. Shame , the Caddys were all close in pace , could have been a great race.

Thanks guys! Seems like I was the only one with any luck today.

Yeah Mac, you and the leader passed be together a couple times, and then he passed me and you weren't there with him. It wasn't until I passed you in the pits a couple laps later that I realized you must have been in a crash. Too bad, because whenever I saw you you were really hounding the car in front.

I'm just way too competitive in everything, the accident was completely my fault, I just wish the guy would have let me go by, especially since he was already a lap down and I was challenging for the win... It was great fun while it lasted though, had some great battles. The DP is so much fun.

Being extremely competitive is good. However, it seems to me like you were mirror driving. mirror driving is one of those things that's extremely hard not to do, but you're better off to just acknowlege that they're there but not look at your mirrors. I'm sure your instructors have covered it but even the best fall for mirror driving.

He was never behind me though, so I don't think it was that. Unless you're talking about something else? :p They did tell me not to watch my mirrors to much though, you're right it's extremely hard not to do..

Serious question, is the Jetta different from last season? I just got my butt kicked driving one on Laguna (a track it isn't really suited for to begin with) but I was almost 2 seconds off my previous best race time and I got beat by a Solstice.. I felt like a complete idiot afterwards, I don't know if I'm driving it wrong or what, but I've never struggled with it before, not sure why I am all of a sudden now..

Just curious as to why you did not have/use a mike ?

Got the $100 for $75 deal a few days ago then bought 7 tracks at 20% off.

Just proud of myself for being a smart shopper.

Now I can get the 4 dollar participation credit too.

That's fifty cents per race!

So,with my Black Friday 2 years for $89.00 and my roughly $150 in content, lets say $239.00 divided by .50 is 478 and must race 8 races per season,14 years and u will get the content I've bought so far free no including the membership fees for the next 12 years! LOL.

I bought the Radical today, what an awesome car!

I've only bought:

Star Mazda

Skip Barber F2000

Lotus 49

I like the skippy so I bought all the tracks for the rest of the season.

The other two are a little too much for me.

I like the feel of the skippy if I make a mistake I can usually save it.

I'm really enjoying the Skip Barber at Gilles Villeneuve! I had a great first race, but got a 0x contact at the start of the second race (someone clipped my rear wheel but I saved it). I drove the whole second race with my wheel about 30 degrees off center. I was still turning normal lap times but it was REALLY twitchy.

BRP17
I've raced it for the last couple of seasons. Participation really dropped so I stopped racing it. Hard to find official races.

Not after the new build. Races are going official almost daily.

SKIDMARX

Depends what time of day but, right now it's got a ton of people in the lobbies!

Can anybody confirm if the massive turtle shell like curbs in the final chicane at Montréal are there in real life?

They are. And I think if you hit them in real life, it would be decidedly worse.

I saw that on the replay. That should have been more than a 0x. He clearly knocked you off line and lost you positions. I didn't notice that you were in that race until I saw you disconnect at the end.

I just got the track and my best effort is 2.02xxx I think I'll just practice for a while.

I was in that range when I started too. You just have to get into a rhythm. I'm slow and I think my best current time in testing is 1:58.7x but that was a bit of a fluke, my race pace as I'm getting more comfortable seems to me mid-high 1:59's which is way off the pace for the faster guys, but gets me into some fun battles in the bottom split. :)

I didn't even look back to the replay, guess I should have just to see what happened. :)

I wasn't too terribly upset with it, it's a bottom split standing start race, I've had much worse happen to me. Haha.

Anyone have any recommendations for any good Ford GT paints? I have a Falken one now but i'm a bit bored of it.
