Sounds good. Probably get signed up later this evening. Thanks guys.

Make sure you check the promos thread to find the promo that works best for you. Cadillaccupracing.com still give out 3 months free for new members. As Roush_fan stated, there is usually a Black Friday deal for members. You could get the Cadillac deal and then get an extra year or two on Black Friday.

Nice! Although I must say I prefer the Orange one. Using 2048 templates for those? Looking forward to trying them out myself.

Yep, using the 2048 templates. The right side of the car has a very slight blur, thanks to the compression, where the left side has a massive blur.

Not really sure if there is a fix.

So I have a couple of questions now that I've had some time to mess around. First, I really can't feel much with my G27. I looked up a lot of FFB settings that people suggested for that wheel and tried them all out. I have found what the game is reading to be a good setting, without clipping the FFB, but compared to other sims like rFactor and GSC the whole point of laser scanned tracks is being missed for me, imo. I can't even feel when I go over a curb.

The other question is regarding the car setup screens. One issue I have is that there is blinking. For example, some of the readings/settings are blinking constantly, and I also cannot adjust some of the settings that have arrows for adjustment. Are either of these things normal?

Have you downloaded the logitech driver from their website and what are your settings?
As for the setup screen they can bounce between numbers a little but I thought they adjusted that awhile ago, is that what you're experiencing?

Here are some screens of my settings and a video of the blinking. (edit: sorry for the large image)

When you see the descriptions flashing at the bottom of the screen, that is because of me. I wasn't sure if my mouse would show up in the video and I was trying to show that I could not adjust the parameters that were flashing, such as ARB preload.

If I had to guess, I'd say that a damping of 70% is killing the FFB. Try dropping it to 0% and increase it only if the FFB feels too erratic.

I increased the damping per the suggestion of another G27 user who also had issues. With damping at 0% the wheel feels incredibly light, and I only get feedback on rare occasions, or if I drive off track.

Then it has to be the Logitech driver because with Strength 10, Damping 0, and Min Force 0 on my Fanatec CSR wheel I get quite a lot of FFB on all tracks. So much so that I usually pull the Strength down to 4 or less on ovals.

Try clicking linear mode and dampening at 0. Then maybe turn up dampening a little if desired.

drove the skippy for the first time and man do I wish I had bought it awhile ago, it's fun!

It usually has ultra competitive fields too, I bought it hoping to pick up on a few things and improve all around. I'm not a big open wheel guy, but it's a lot of fun to play with.

@analog I always thought my G27 felt far too light with FFB as well. I did some research on settings but then I assumed that it's maybe just how it's meant to feel. Make sure you let us know if you find something though!

I actually increased the minimum force to 40% just to test it out, and it actually feels a lot better. I'm not clipping the FFB either by doing that. I'm thinking somewhere between 25-35% for that, and a little dampening will get me closer. I also increased my FFB to 20%.

Anyone have any ideas on the flickering issue? And can you all change your preload ARB settings when you are tuning the Mazda?

If you are racing the Mazda it is a fixed set up and you can't change it in the rookie series. As for the flickering, mine does it too on the corner weights or corner loads or whatever it is. I think it just flickers as the calculation is right on the cusp of 2 numbers so it flicks back and forth

What kind of times are you guys setting at Summit Point in the Mazda? Found this video and also a 1:22:9xx, don't see how they have so much grip.

Edit: Did some research over at the forums and it appears the car is a lot different with the new tire model. Read a post where a guy said that he ran 1:23's before but now he can't get 1:25's, so that makes me feel better. My fastest lap at Summit Point is 1:26:512.

I did my first race in a while today doing the Trucks Fixed at Texas. I was doing good but I almost spun once and I could never regain grip in my tires. Literally, I was almost spinning out every corner because the car felt like it was driving on ice. I don't know if this is a bug with the Tire Model but that needs to be fixed. I retired from the race because I deemed myself as a safety hazard.

I read up a bit on it last night. Seems that the tires can take up to two laps to properly get heated. How far were you into the race?

About 10 laps in. It seems there is a problem when you almost spin out. You just can't get the tires to have any grip in them.

First ever race today. Finished 2nd with no incidents. Rookie racing is actually pretty fun, minus the 1st couple of corners. I didn't qualify and started 7th, basically just kept it clean and let the other drivers make the mistakes. Had one overtake though that a guy didn't try to defend going into the 1st corner. I guess he was a little spooked.

So how do the championship points work? Can't I race again before the next week? Do they just keep your best result for each week out of all of your races?

Congrats, that's awesome for your first race.

I wouldn't worry about championship points in Mazda cup, its mostly about learning racecraft and getting you away from all the rookies. Basically, iRacing takes your best points result from 4 races, and that is your score for the week. If you do more than 4 races, it takes an average of your top 50% results. So if you did 6 races, it would average the points from your best 3.

You can race as much as you want, your average for that week will just change the more do you do.

As far as tires on the truck, they kind of have the mindset that if you over use them or heat them up, then either you have to be super nice to them for a few laps or they will always feel like you are about to lose it.

Just got 2nd in the ford GT at Sebring. Was having a 0x race then Mr. Corvette gives me a 4x with a lap and two turns to go :(

Only gained .04 SR. Wish they would make it more incidents for that little SR gain.

just did a practice session with the FW31 at Bathurst. Was entirely expecting it to be mission impossible but, it ended up being a lot of fun. Most of the corners on the hill are flat.

Finished 2nd in a Grand AM race (Road Atlanta, Riley DP), first time in a while I finished on the lead lap, 104 points moved me into first place in my division.
