We really need to get together as a group and watch some bottom split rookie street stock or Mazda cup races. It's too funny in there

Yea I saw that. I wasn't gonna do the last one as I was pre occupied with the Coke 600. Now I may be a bit more interested. Depends if I can figure out how to get the car around the track for more than 10 laps in a row.

Load the Basic race setup, map two buttons on your wheel for the weight jacker +/-, and put a post it note on your monitor telling which way to move the jacker for oversteer/understeer. You'll need to practice to work out which way to adjust, I can never remember, hence the post it note :)

The UK&I club did a 500 the evening when the official one was cancelled, it was great fun, the key was to take things very carefully, and just try to get to the end, I can see official races being complete crashfests for the first half, then longer green runs as people drop out.

DRIVER SWAPS FOR S4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Remember you have to breathe to make it to s4!
Good stuff!! Time to start putting Team GTPlanet together??
We have the talent well distributed over most all time zones to where we could have 2-3 cars on a 24hr race easily and very competitively.
Oh! And Ford GT GT-3 for S3 as well!!

Sorry, I meant GT-3 Ford GT for S3!! And very likely the HPD, DP, Ford GT GT2 a d Ruf C-Spec will be all grouped together in the same series!

Last few days, we had quite some mails with iRacing's president, Tony Gardner and fellow iR member David Scott2,
to try and make something of our two multiclass series P/GT and former Grand Am: World Sportscars
The first suggestion was to stop the Proto and GT series,
move the Sportscars series in B class from C
Include the HPD and FGT in that series.
Corvette gets its own GT1 Challenge at class C
The sportscars series would use the former Proto/GT grid size (45 cars) to limit the possible class splitting issues
Then this mail went in the box, Tony said it could be made public.
Possible change of plans (sort of).
We may have a GT3 version of the Ford ready for build. So whoever has the Ford GT would also get a the Ford GT3 for free. We would put the Ford GT3 car in the GT3 Series.
I don’t think the Ford GT will be much used in this World Sports Car Series…. We will add the Ruf so would still would be three classes in the World Sports Car Series. Steve is still worried 4 classes cause complaints so trying to eliminate what will likely be least used based on past experience but I guess we could keep the Ford GT in there as well. It did look like a good few did run the Ford GT in the test David did below.
As simply an FYI, we may at some point pretty soon (not for build) also have a second offshoot BMW car, GTE type car which could also go in this World Sports Car Series, but don’t plan on that for build but another reason maybe not to have the Ford GT.
I don’t mind if you mention on the forums if you wanted.
To that mail, I replied that I maintain my suggestion to keep the real Ford GT (the GT2/GTE) into the Sportscars series
I can detail the reasons if needed,
but just think about all people that are going to buy the Ford because it's available in GT3 Challenge...
When that GTE BMW is ready (iRacing already said they're working on a TUSC partnership and signed a Corvette DP)
We will see what we do of the Ford GT2/GTE.
The Ford GT3 was or is being built from the Doran GT2 with the homologuations documents of the Matech GT3 if I understood correctly the next mail (there never was a Doran Ford GT3, the Lambda team just didn't word properly their website infos).
I suggested to tweak the body so at least the car gets the details of the GT3 Matech body, but for now it's a no.
I have no idea if the Z4(?) GTE will also be a fictionnal one with the GT3 body, this one can't do without a rescan tbh.

Is it a legit GT3 Ford or just the GT2 car re-spec'd?
The announcement from the forums:

uhhhh....im assuming from reading that its just the GT2 spec'd to GT3?

Maybe run a GTPlanet team in the Neo GT series in the future, i would be all over that.

Holy cow! @polarbear345 and I just spectated a bottom split truck at Bristol. 16 started and 9 finished with 3 people being DQ'd. Not a single person in that race gained SR. I have never seen trucks so damaged before on the sim. It was soooooooooooooooooooooo funny

At what rate is the SR calculated in the unofficial(not enough people) races?

0.35 for both race and warm-up, where a race is unofficial due to too few starters. (section 3.7 in the sporting code).

Carp Cup (on oval) is completely unofficial, and is zero-rated for both SR and iRating. There is no road equivalent.

Anyone down for a 2hr endurance race at Spa tonight??
The Champion Motorsports GT3-Endurance Series visits Circuit de Spa Francoirchamps tonight for the second race of the GT3-E Championship, all here are welcome to join!
The Z4 gets an extra 35kg as a BoP measure to keep the other cars competitive. All info can be found here:

Drivers Eye from practice tonight, lap was a 20.4xx but it was dirty. Done in race trim with full fuel: (excuse the crappy quality of my Spy Glasses Lol!!)

I'll most likely record the full race tomorrow using the same method and post up once uploaded.

50 laps of LRP. My body is ready... For a demotion.
I opted for the nascar race tonight because I feel reading the forums after will be more fun than the actual race.

May watch a stream or something after. Lime rock in the caddy just doesn't float my boat.

well it actually was quiet enjoyable until someone decided to do a 3 point turn on the downhill section. I am pretty sure iracing-me is dead.

NASCAR race was alright. I was split 3 car 20. Got lag slammed which put me behind the slow cars and they would slow me down on the restarts enough that I couldn't catch the draft. Still got 12th so I got above 2900 IR on the oval side.

The goal was top 10, so I was close but it could've gone worse!

I was in the bottom split tonight , we only had 2 cautions which was great ! I got hit pretty hard lap 20 and repaired all damage but my top speed was affected. I managed to cling onto the back of the pack in P 22 and stay on the lead lap somehow. The 2nd caution happened around lap 40 which meant most were gonna be a little short of fuel to get to the finish. That made for an interesting finish. I finished 5th somehow :)
