They commented on one of the KIA Cup broadcasts that they are aware, the KIA is the closest thing iRacing has to a touring car but it is a poor substitute as it is built to GTS/GT4 spec and has little in common. I think the dirt announcement pushed a lot of the BSR guys too far that dirt, iRacings meme which requires specialised cars, tracks and physics would come sooner than 2 cars licensed 3 years ago, I do agree but living in the UK makes my view point bias to my national motorsport.

Need help. This may be a noob question since I don't own a driver license or car and never driven one in real life.

I just bought the game and set up my steering wheel (G29). It recognizes the steering but the car doesn't move from it's place, when I step on the gas i.e. accelerate. It seems like that the red brake bar is fully turnt on, but it won't go down no matter what and the brake is not stuck - the whole steering set works perfectly in other games and it's new (bought it few days ago). I tried out all the buttons and also the clutch but it still won't work. And yes, I downloaded the Logitech Gaming Software and all the associated drivers.

Any solutions?

Have you calibrated everything in Iracing?

grats Kamui that is seriously impressive. How are you liking the audi?

I'm really liking it. First GT3 car that feels a lot like home to me. I think I've got a pretty good baseline set that I've been able to use everywhere with minimal adjustments and be right on the pace. Car struggles a bit in Qualifying and the BSS races are a bit tough because it's hard to get the pace in these situations. The BES races are much better for the car because the final 20 minutes of the stint are when the car is the strongest because it is extremely easy on tires. I actually prefer the Mercedes. But I like to be lowland to the VW Audi Group :)

Grats Kamui, but not a surprise you are good ;)

I don't really think I'm all that good. There's some insane good guys on iRacing. I've still got a lot of work lol.

Working on that setup video. Should be out soon.

Interesting you speak about the GT3 cars @Kamuifanboy in that way. We in our team have had some similar issues in the BES series late last year and also the Blancpain GT Series with lack of qualifying pace but fantastic race pace. For Silverstone, i've focused entirely on building a 1 lap car to try and figure out how to make it go fast over 1 lap. Time will tell whether we have cracked it or not, but it's a complete mystery to us, very frustrating! In saying that, we have no understanding on where to start with GT3 setup! It's just a team of people clicking random things hahaha!

We are in the Mercedes by the way.

Also, i've recently just started using Joel Real Timing... It is absolutely amazing and is definitely worth the 15 Euro that it costs. I wanted it for fuel calculations on the fly with fuel to add to finish etc, but it does so much more than that i've discovered. In depth timing, dashboard displays, track map (even has a feature that will show you on the map where you would come out after a pitstop!). Lots of handy stuff for Blancpain stuff. Did a search on the thread to see if it was posted already but couldn't find anything on it. Definitely worth a look if you're competitive and looking at improving your race strategies!

Problem I have with the GT3 cars is the steering feel in the mid corner is just totally dead. That and they're boring to drive just kills it for me now i've raced a lot of the other cars.

For pure driving any of the nascar vehicles on road courses is pure nirvana. No abs, no tcs, massive power and a chassis which requires delicate throttle, steering and braking distances a mile long.

Honestly if you haven't tried it you should, once you get over that inital feeling that the cars don't turn, you'll realise that they do, it's just the cornering speed is low relative to the speed on the straights. They're a bit like driving a very heavy, closed wheel and easier Lotus 49.

I've only just come across to GT3 for the World Championship. I've always been a big fan of the V8 Supercar for good quality close racing. No driving aids, big tyre degradation and some bumpers makes for good racing! Same can be said for NASCAR on road courses as you say.

Hey! Yeah you guys were running great in that first hour. Were well in front of the two Radicals cars. Definitely one of the teams in my "Teams to watch" list because you and Dylan are super quick. Oddly enough, I had just said a few days before to my teammates that Core likely will be the strongest team throughout the year. Alexander, Nils and Danny are an insanely quick bunch to be in the same team. Mercedes I think is a good all around choice. Will be strong at just about every track that you encounter.

As for Quali, I often find myself carrying a good 5-10kph more on entry and exit through the corner for that "money lap." I'm not the best qualifier so I'm likely doing it wrong as well though. As far as setup goes, I spent about 2 weeks just testing everything possible on the Audi to try and find any loop holes that I could. I stumbled across one that baffles me and really helped a tremendous amount with tire wear. For the Okayama BES race, I was able to do a one stop strategy over a 3 hour race and managed to have higher than 83% center tire tread remaining around all corners after 1h30m of use.

I've only started cracking into the Mercedes for the VLN series as that is the car Radicals has chosen for this first race. It's a little bit limited on setup with the interesting pre determined spring selections. I can't say a whole lot, but I may or may not have found more rear grip and a lot of time out of lowering rear wing ;)

JRT is awesome. Everyone at Radicals has been using it for a few months now, including myself. Really awesome stuff by Joel. The fuel calculator is insanely accurate and has not been wrong about how much I need just to get across the line for the checkered.

I raced the V8's at Sonoma and finally got comfortable to do 40L without binning the car. But I was sadly 30 odd seconds behind the winner. I really wish I could be as fast as some of you guys in the V8 as it's one of my top series to watch in real life, and on iRacing. That race at Sebring you had a few weeks ago was epic!

Unfortunately because I'll be really trying hard to get a BES Pro license for next year, I probably won't get much time to really learn the car as I'll be devoting a lot of time into perfecting the Audi sets :(

Yeah, we were up there at Monza but it all turned average for us! Ah well, bring on Silverstone!

Interesting what you say about tyre wear, I couldn't do that, no way (not yet anyway...). As for rear wing, I insisted we run really low at Monza for speed but for tyre wear reasons we didn't opt for that minimum setting. It also seems that weather has a fairly big influence on what wing setting you can get away with. Obviously cooler weather you can run a little less wing due to the increased grip level. So far at Silverstone i'm running slightly more wing than what I want, but still a week to go so hopefully I can keep developing the car and take some away. I understand you can't tell me more @Kamuifanboy, at the competitive level we race at and the ridiculous amount of setup time invested you can't give away an advantage!

All the best for getting into the Pro series. Radicals is a great team with a great leader in Andy! Definitely respect you guys a lot and with your talent you should be competitive in the GT3 series for sure.

As for the V8, it gets an overhaul soon so I wouldn't bother learning it at least until that update comes! It's a little average to drive now anyway. Really fun to race because there's not really any aero effect and you can race close and hard, but the car definitely needs this update for sure!

Also... that Sebring race was epic for anyone that hasn't seen it... I know this isn't the video thread but you gotta watch this!

Sorry about that. It's hard not sharing setup information anymore. I used to post my sets in the forums all the time and I think it does more good than bad because some people can find things that work on your own setup that makes it better. But, team property now lol.

Yeah, I had actually spoken to Andy about you one day and he had said that he would have really like to try and recruit you at some point. Only issue was that we don't currently have any Radicals members that are on during your time slot. Jonathan Sahlani was there for a bit, but hes gone a bit MIA with his biking. So, he thought it would be unfair to add you only to be alone all the time.

today i learned that hotlapping the ring and navigating 3 different speed classes are two entirely different things.

Yeah, that was a whole lot of fun though. Hotlapping the ring is fun, but racing cars in the same class, as well as racing against 2 other classes was so much fun. I'll be racing as many of those as I can. Top split was relatively clean. I managed to move from P23 starting position all the way to P6 by the end of my second stint.

I used to have lots of chats with Andy! He wanted to recruit me about 2/3 years ago to run the V8 series for them. But I denied a fair few times. Good bloke, but I started and run my own sim team so can't really abandon that obviously! Radicals are great though, had plenty of fun with those guys. Andy is a great bloke, say hi for me!

Are any of you guys racing in the VLN series? We entered a Kia and were 3rd in the first race after some technical problems (first driver had to go 3 laps without sound, then my sim crashed as i was pulling out of the pits). Bottom line though was that we weren't really fast enough to win so it didn't matter too much, hopefully we find the speed we are missing before round 2.

Some good racing in that video above, I don't have a good relationship with filsell though, I made a mistake in an AEC race as a faster class when passing him. Subsequently he tried to intentionally wreck me the next time I came to pass him.

I was running with Radicals in the Mercedes. Did the first 2 hours and got the car from last on the grid up to 6th with no damage. Unfortunately other teams using the quick repair (Which shouldn't be there) and my teammate being a bit scared behind the Kia's, we fell back to 11th by the end.

Really good fun though. Will definitely be trying to do as many as I possibly can.

Caddy @ Donnington = hell (and it causes the framerate to 🤬 itself around the track with cockpit mirrors on).

Caddy @ Road Atlanta = hell.

And 9x? No problem, I still (somehow) got my SR boosted by 0.13... (Now D class 2.53).

Driving tips for the Caddy? Help? Anyone?

Driving tip for the Caddy: Don't drive the Caddy.

Well... considering that I'm still in D Class and that I have absolutely no idea how to set cars up (and that I want to stay in Fixed for now)... I really don't have any choice!

It really teaches you how to be delicate with the car and not upset the balance. So hard it kicks your butt and gives you tough love :D
