I over revved on a downshift going into one when the guy in front just jumped in the brakes too early and I messed up the downshift trying to avoid hitting him. Worst part is that my friend Tiago got a freebie!! Uggghhhh!!!!!

HAhaha I just was looking at the results screen that sucks!!! I didn't even know you could do that :P I shift really late though because I left foot brake...So I doubt that'll happen to me :p

They not only blow sometimes they just drop a valve and start missfiring and smoking and you loose power they don't go though but you loose a lot of time and the drivers behind get blinded!!

Hahaha that's awesome :) I want to do a longer race in the miatas.... I should visit the forums.....

I watched some vidoes over at SimRacing.
Read some too but can't figure out what the different routes are.
Now, I'm not that good at racing, in fact I kinda suck :D
12 bucks a month isn't too bad if you like a game, but the 1x/1x dollars for the cars tracks can get out of hand pretty quick.
Is there like table where I can see the costs going from rookie to D, D to C and so on?
Also I'm not into Nascar or F1, what route do you recommend?
Thanks in advance

I don't get SR.....I just won the race by 25 seconds with ZERO incidents...none..zippo... not a single tire off, contact NOTHING....but I only got .16 :(

What!! there's gotta be something wrong there!
I just murdered my SR in this last race! went all the way down by .47!!
Was all me though, the other racers were very very clean and respectfull! MTBer was on my split this time!

There's a lot of options man! You can start with the MX5>Mustang>Ford Falcon>RileyDP>Corvette(GT1). Plus we got the Ford GT(GT2) and the ARX LMP1 coming in a few months!

Is there any relation to the opponents difficulty? I mean if the field is weak does that mean I get less? Cuz seriously every race I've one I've gotten between .14 and .17. Hence why after 8 wins I'm still at 3.7 rookie :(

Not for the SR, for the IR it does vary with the strength of the field. But you won't be able to see that till D license.

So I just read through the explanation of SR and I still don't get why I only am getting .15 as an average for winning those races...I've never lost more than that either though so I'm not that worried. I guess I'll be getting to 4 tomorrow :)

Yeah I don't get it either...
That's it for me tonight, going to sleep now! Catch you tomorrow man!

The Corvette, is that A license/grade?
How much including the tracks would it run me?

EDIT

sorry, you are speaking about SR and not iR.

Currently a bit stoked. My qualifying time from way earlier today was something terrible like 1:00:400 which put me (surprisingly) into position number 1 on the grid. As I rounded the 2nd or 3rd corner I notice that the two cars behind me have suddenly become 9 seconds behind me with the others slowing to avoid it. As I make it down the main straight entering my 3rd lap I see 3 cars in the pit while the others that aren't in the pit are something like 17 seconds behind me.

Everyone in the race was lapped except Trevor and Chaz. While this Chaz guy may have come 6th, he had gained heaps and caught up to me by lap 13. I let him pass because I only had 1 incident at the time (the other 2 are from letting 2 wheels off) and didnt want anymore. He was worthy of the spot as he consistently pulled lap times 1 second faster than me. I thought I was only in for 2nd place until on lap 19 I see him at the side of the main straight surrounded by a whole heap of smoke. He then proceeded to forfeit leaving the next guy 17 seconds behind me.

Fairly easy win, but what happened afterward is what has surprised me. My SR has gone up .56, yes, .56! Thats bitchslapped me half way along my journey to the D license from 2.90. Looks like tomorrow I may be trying out some other cars, carefully, to avoid denting the SR too much with my trialing.

Picture here:

The reason you got .56 is because when you go past a .00 you get a "free" .4 SR.

I learned that last night :) So you earned .16 from the race but by passing 3.0 you got the free .4. Now, if you drop back below 3.0 then they take away your free .4 so you'd drop to a 2.6

Hey guys I am little bummed I am getting like 1.07 times on Obayama in my Mazda roadster. But everyone is hitting like 1.03s!!!! :grumpy:

I'm getting left behind and pretty much a danger to other racers being this slow

Any tips? I thought I was following the best lines but guess I am not

when I get a chance this weekend I will try to make a REPLAY file and maybe if someone gets time you can let me know whats going wrong.

I dont understand how i can be so much slower. I even made sure my wheel was fully calibrated but iRacing HUD does show 100% gas, etc unless I am interpreting it wrong. This is depressing my times are so awful cause I really enjoy sim racing.

Try Lime Rock this week, maybe it suits you better.

another thing to note is that if you go back down below a whole point you loose the .4 again.

A reply to the other guy who was talking about getting so little SR in a race even after winning. You get no bonus points for going faster or winning. So if you go SUPPER slow and get lapped every other lap and get 0 incidents you get the same SR bonus as if you won first place in the top split. Also don't read much into each races gains losses. You can gain a bunch of SR even if you had a few incidents that race. This is because only so many of the last corners count so if that race made a race you did horrible in drop off the list than you will get a gain because your average incidents per corner would go up.

Haha that was the last bit of my note (the losing SR)

Also I was the guy who was talking about getting so little SR :p After whining about it I went and read the breakdown of SR so now it makes sense :) Thanks for the averages explanation though, cuz I reeeeally didn't understand that :)

Ahh, I was having a few thoughts before I hit 3.0 as to how I would keep it up there to avoid bopping up and down 3.0. This is their solution to it, clever.

Just do a few TT's and bump yourself all the way up to C!

Up to D**. I did start playing this game at the same time as you but I left it for a few weeks before coming back :p.

How much SR can you get from Time Trials and how do they work? I might invest some time in them after work if it is worth it.

Is about the same thing, you will need at least 4 races or 4 time trials in a class D car before advancing to C, so my advice is just do 4 TT's in the Mustang and that should take you up to C!
I missed the promotion to B by something like 5 minutes! Don't let it happen to you!

I wont be able to do anything in class D by the look of it until I get that Debit card after my birthday. It is dawning on me now that I am in a bit of an annoying situation. Wanting to play a game but not being able to advance and drive new cars because you simply can't .
