Had another successful night tonight in the V8 Supercar Online Series winning my 4th consecutive round. The SOF was massive too (3837). Had to drive well to win tonight, Shane Van Gisbergen was on my tail for the first half of the race and it's never easy to beat him! Set a World Record in qualifying and Race too so can't complain at all! (Sorry a bit pumped that's all )

By the way guys, I bought a Teamspeak 3 server for my team (Trans Tasman Racing) but if any of you want to use it feel free. It only has 10 slots but we use it in peak Aussie Times and for a lot of you that would mean we wouldn't be online at that time.

example: i click the Race tab (to the right of Test tab) from the dashboard and select an eligible race - have tried mx-5 and the Ford 34 hot rod. then i select any of the 4 little circles under Select A Session.
TT or Pract lists games in red that can be selected, at the moment Race and Qual is listing games in black and can't be selected.
I choose one of the 3 listed games in either TT or Pract. Staging session countdown appears.
I press the Join button once available. It changes to the 'Joined Session' page and the connecting progress bar is on screen.
Then the 'Could not connect to server' message appears

Can't see anything obvious that I'm doing wrong here. ideas?

Wow i wish i could help out here You are doing every step correctly so there´s definitely something else.

Create a thread here, i´m sure alot of people will help you out with this problem.

Totally OT but dude!! We had a blast last night testing out the new GT2 cars for GTPFIA season 2, what do I need to do to get you on the field?
In fact what do I need to get you guys to run in that series?

Thats how you do it Let attrition take its course and when you stay out of trouble, the race will always come to you. Works everytime 👍

I just ordered a Dell XPS 8300 and also ordered a Radeon 6870 graphics card (newegg) at the same time. This computer should let me have some fun with some various newer titles. With the purchase I also get Dirt3(!) and some game named shogun2.

I am pretty stoked. Should be here by the 12th of July.

Thank you to everyone that has helped me with getting my laptop to run iRacing. Hopefully I won't need the assistance anymore.

As far as the races.. The only ones I have run so far are for the Nvidia Cup. I don't currently own the Spa course. I just have the basic content so far, and I am currently a D license. (3.40 I think)

I will look back through the last few pages to see if I can find info about the race you speak of.

Edit: Just read through the posts. Looks like fun. When I joined iRacing, I was just going to try the included content for a while first. I have barely raced the Miatas so far. I think I am going to wait until I have a little more time at the sim before buying additional content. I would love to join you for any of the Miata stuff on the included tracks though.

Triple-screen setup is everyones main goal in these days... it just needs huge monster-PC to run stable +120fps with most candies on.

Me personally, I cant race without knowing my PC cant hold that +120 with over twenty other racers on the grid. When your brain-muscles get used to high fps, you will miss apexes if fps drops a lot in the first laps in race.

ps. Now someone will come and tell that 'you cant have over 60fps with 60hz lcd', or that 'eyes cant notice more than 60fps' ...well, please dont. Youre wrong. 60hz LCD can show you more pics than 60... they just are slices about pictures. Human eye also can see big difference
between 60 to 120fps.


pss. Here is clip about my experiment of using windowed-mode. It cutted my stable 150fps to 90fps. It was great looking, littlebit weird at start, but I cant keep it because that fps drop.

"120Hz is only for movies" Hmm.. Really? that´s why the best Blu-Ray movies run at 24fps?

I have three 120Hz 24" screens and to me, triple screens is just the best. You see so much more and it just takes you in the game so much more. 120Hz is the icing on the cake for me. Everything get´s really smooth and more real.

I have a pretty good computer and the only tracks where i have to turn down candy is SPA (they ****ed it up big time in the latest build), Okayama & Road America for some reason.

Other tracks it´s around 150-200+ at all times which is nice.
I don´t however run with 2-pass or more shadows. Only Shadow Volumes checked.

2-pass only makes shadows darker but eats FPS like nothing else. And its very un-optimised to say the least.

Here´s a good site, if you can´t see the difference then it´s your eyes that´s need fixing
Now you might look at 60fps and say well that is smooth as hell but just imagine double that smoothness and you get 120fps.

Yeah... like Hamp says, 120hz screens are ofcourse the icing on the cake. No need to have sliced-picture then. I have 60hz screen and stable 150fps... so my picture is sliced combination of three pictures... from 'oldest' to 'newest'. I dont see any tearing cause those tears are always at different place and pictures are so close eachothers that picture do not tear.. If my fps would be 120, I most propably would see it somewhere middle on the screen.

Remember that 120hz if your budget allows that... or you are going to upgrade in someday surely. I'm still waiting those screens coming down littlebit and then going to i7 & Ati 69xx Eyefinity route.

Have you thought about setting your rig over self-build stand or something like that? My rig in the picture is top of hand build wooden stand, and under it is storaged all boxes and stuff what would in the other case stay there against wall. My wife was very ok to this compromize, and I like way more to sit height over 1 meter than on the floor. It's builded in the storage-room outside apartment so family cant ruin my immersion when racing.

Yea the FOV test is a bit iffy. Works best when you have three screens but i just change it so it looks alright.

Like in the Vette i have it so i don´t see the shiftlights below, only the LCD screen and up.
