On a different note. I'm going to be holding tons of practice and race hosted sessions when I get home with the Acura if anyone's interested.
 
I find the road series alot easier than the oval - I think the oval tracks are too cramped for the rookies - almost impossible to have a clean race!

If I keep doing a race every other day, or at least a race a day, by the next promotions I should easily qualify to go up in the road group. This I guess, is where the money pit starts!?

The money pit can start whenever you want! For me it started immediately after joining. I bought all kinds of stuff that I couldnt race officially because I still enjoyed using them in my test sessions.

Subscription and content so far... $384

To put it in perspective though. If you have your mind set on running a certain series at the next license level, buying the required car and the minimum tracks needed to at least participate in 8 weeks of the season usually wont cost much more than a new PS3 game or so. That will get you a solid couple months of playtime (more than an average new game would in most cases) and you'll likely need to buy less tracks for the next series you participate in.

Very true. I've lost count of how many PS3 games I've bought and played for less than a week!
 
Just had another cracking race in the Star Mazdas, started 6th finished 2nd, 0 incidents and a +73 SR gain!

I thought the red time was for the fastest but obviously your time was better. Maybe since it was the fastest amongst rookie drivers and thats a rookie series?

Don't worry, that's from a practice session, not a race.

I don't think the red time is for the fastest rookie because I had a red time in one practice I did last night and I'm Class D.

I'm thinking the red time is the best clean lap and my best lap must have been a bit off track and I just didn't notice.

I just went and kind of added up all the cars and tracks that can be purchased. It's over 700$. I don't even know what to say baout that. I'm guessing that's how much I'll have in it within a year or so. I guess though if you knew you loved the game and was going to play it for ever you could save a nice chunk of change and just buy it all at once.
 
I'm finding lately I have too much SR in road racing:crazy::dopey:Not complaining though.

Ran a bunch of mx-5 races last week which sky rocketed my SR. Ran a few races in the Mustang and all four TT's working on my set-up. I was tapped out at 4.99 Class D for past few days and only dropped to 4.47 Class C.

Probably run the Mustang in the Grand-Am series for Class C for now. Both Mustang Challenge and Grand-Am at Watkins Glen next week so should work out nice.

Only had six incidents in past ten races. Think my average finish is around 3rd with a few wins. Not too bad. Starting to really be able to put races together with little or no incidents.👍

I always try to buy 5 or 6 at a time. Whatever it takes for the 20% discount. At any rate... as far as hobbies go there are far more expensive things that I see people getting into. I think of iRacing in a much different way than I think of regular video games. I also don't mind giving those guys my money because they are very involved with the community and its very clear that they are always working to make the service better instead of letting things stagnate.

I don't mean for this to sound bad but how did your SR get so high then? I've only done 3 races now and in the first I had a guy drill me and the 2nd race the guy right infront of me spun out and we made contact. Other than that I haven't touched anybody (kind of driving like my grandma though) yet my SR is down to 2.39?

Wow. The most of my 3 was my second race I had a 0.10 increase and that's after the guy spun out infront of me.
 
The higher license you have the harder it is to increase SR.

Like when i was C class, i did a V8 Qual Session, 3 incs +0.70 SR
A class, long long race, 1 incs +0.20 SR

0 inc will still give you good SR points if you are A class but get one inc and it´s cut down alot :)

Incidents also include off track and losing control not just car contact. Six incidents in 10 road races is really good. That's less than 1 incident per race which is pro license level incident rate. Also where you finish and how fast you are have nothing to do with SR.

The other thing you guys should remember is if you go over the 2.99-3.0 or 3.99-4.0 threshold you get an extra .30 to pad you from ping ponging between license levels.

Havent been home yet really since yesterday, but will be home tonight/tomorrow to check if I can join.
I know I need to buy spa but what else would I have to get to join. I don't have any other cars other than the standard ones.
 
Intentional wrecker last race. He spun out 3 guys. Was running 2nd with 5 to go and finished 7th. Dropped my SR .09 because he hit me 3 times before wrecking me.

Best part though?

He has an SR of .89 and it actually went up .14 this race..... I don't get it.

It might be I was away from home when I typed that. Either way it is a large contributor to the .7 gains some of you are seeing.
At any rate has anyone seen a date on when the Vette will get the NTM? That's what I am going to run this season since it seems super short on racers now.
