I'd LOVE to race more, but until iracing gets more members or more Aussies start playing, iracing will limit me.
I hope the above explains why I can't race more (although I wish I could). This is why you heard me "rant" a few weeks back about the lack of drivers.
Ok, now on the topic of "how to improve safety". What I am trying to point out is that the "collective brain power" of the iracing team, if it wasn't used to think of new tracks/cars, they could sit down for a few weeks, go through say all the "protest" records they have received, talk to some of the top players like Huttu or someone, and brain storm some ideas. Now based on probability and the skill level of these guys, I have NO DOUBT that something could be improved. Do you agree?
I always see promotions, new cars, new tracks, but never seen anything on improving the quality of racing, or SR calculations etc. However, I have only been a member for a few months so perhaps someone who has joined 2 - 3 years ago can point out the last time something with safety was changed?
I live in Japan, so I'm only an hour or two off of you and I have zero problems finding races, even when it's mid day here and everyone else is asleep. MX5 Cup, InRacingNews Challenge, etc, etc. I'm only naming the lower class series because you are still D license right? Even if the SOF is too high for you to be competing for a victory you should still race. It's fun and more challenging that way.
As far as how things should change, you need to make specific suggestions in the forums. Getting Greger Huttu involved won't do anything because he only participates in a few open races. You need to come up with a well thought out plan of attack and present it.
In the mean time though, just race! Don't worry about the time or the SOF just run some races and have fun. If you get crashed out, just suck it up and move on to the next race. But over time you will learn better the tell-tale signs of a poor/aggressive driver and learn how to avoid them.
