Yeah. And you're racing with other noobs, so I'm not gonna blame you just yet, but when you do have contact with another driver, go watch the replay after the race and see what happened, and what YOU could have done to prevent it. Whether it's your fault or not.

Eric.

I did mess up in a street stock race today, just got a bit too excited. I went in a bit too hard, went up, but never touched anyone... But then this guy came from no where and cut this guy off... He went down onto me, caused a major crash... I think I probably just confused you, but I did learn that if you can't pass someone... Back off a bit, they'll mess up before too long, or if they're being too aggressive, they'll take them self out.

So; I just need to chill out! I will start a few races from the pits, sounds like I won't have to worry about being rear ended!

Another noob question, but can you see where you will start the race?

^Before you enter the track, there will be black boxes in the Bottom left corner that will say, "Warmup" "practice"" qualifying" and "race" depending on the type of session you're in. Check the "Qualifying" box and it shows the exact order of the field, people who qualified will be at the top the the nonqualifiers will appear in random order below that, and that's race order

Thank you!

"Grid" is the name of the tab he's referring to. If you've ran a qualifying lap during the week you'll be in whatever order that placed you. Drivers who didn't qualify start behind all those who did, and will be ordered based on their iRating (which you can't see yet because you're still a Rookie, but it's there and changing).

Can someone explain to me why when I try to downshift with the FGT it just... doesn't.
I've tried remapping multiple times. I'm using auto clutch. I have to depress the clutch manually to get it to downshift.
I can't do that with paddles so I tried switching to the h shifter and turning off ac completely. Now it won't shift at all. :banghead:

Turn auto-blip on, or blip the throttle yourself...

Yeah...all of the sequential cars with the exception of the Skippy and the paddle shifted ones will upshift any time that you pull back on the shifter. You don't need the clutch because the ECU cuts ignition for that moment to unload the trans. To downshift you should be left foot braking, and blip the throttle each time you press the shifter forward. No clutch needed. You can heel-toe and use the clutch, but that's not necessary. Some guys do it when they want finer control.

Just came 5th at USA Internationa; in Streetstocks, got 0.06 SR increase with 6 incident points. I know I got Car contact x4for a tiny tap on the car in fronts bumper in the pace lap, and x2 later on clipping a car that spun, other then that I was clean. And yet someone else with 2 incident points gets .45 gain..? Not a fair system so far as I see it..

EDIT: About to do a nVidia Cup race now.. Better not lose .21 like last time out :scared:

Yeah, I think they use the clutch in real life to preserve the transmission and probably keeps the car more balanced.

I thought they didn't use the clutch, I think you're right most likely for preservation. Found some more onboards from the GT1 car this time, you can see F.M working the clutch at the 2:15 mark:

Here's the real car at work on Limerock, bottom left corner on the video:

mann thats got to suck very badd, i'd be pissed as hell.. just shows how arrogant some of the guys in the faster cars can be..

Just finished my race, 6 incident points, 2 x1's and a x4. .08 SR gain.. Takes a while to gain SR...

Is it just me... does the track look very diffrent compared to Iracing's version. It looks like the track has been rebuild totally .

Wich one? Limerock or Zolder? That configuration of Limerock is no longer used, now they just use the first chicane wich rejoins a bit further ahead of the one we have. So basically we have the main track with a older chicane configuration, the main track itself is still the same.

Question,
I was debating on getting a button box by Derk Spears (Black Max) or going with a wireless keyboard. Wanted to get some opinons from other Iracers/Simracers. Just getting out of rookie in iracing, so I've really never had to use pit controls but I know I will in the future.
What are the pros & Cons besides price.

Definitely button box! No cons, just total awesomeness! It just makes it so much nicer to have a small dashboard at the reach of your hand! You won't even have to look, you'll be able to distinguish the buttons just by touch!

I heard Time Trials are the way to gain SR, so I did one for street stocks at USA International. 40 laps, 0 incidents and only a 0.04 increase.... I don't get it....

Only if you're just under a whole number, for example I was at 2.99 and did a time trial and was bumped up to 3.41..

Thanks for the help guys.
Far from a downshifting God, but with some practice I'll get used to it. 👍

Just hit a 1:02.3 at Okayama in the MX-5...

My fastest lap yet.. :D

Qualified 3rd, now to start from pits :dopey:
