OUCH Mac, for real? What series are you running that gives you that big of a drop?

And as for my protest on that guy who hit me, the stewards reviewed it and said it was a racing incident and that i should be more aware of cars around me and give more room. BS i say, but oh well. Ill just have to beat him straight up the next time i see him.

I figured they would call it a race incident, but to say you should of gave more room is bull:censored:.

Grand Touring Cup, I'm not worried about it, it's not that hard to get back up, just frustrating is all.

A similar situation happened in real life in the ALMS 09' season. Fast forward to 5:24 and watch the Corvette pass the Porsche in the pit lane, but have to give the position back.

Great example..

yawn about your case.. You did report it right, let it work out, 3 pages with your crash, I just had one myself.. no need to spam

Wow, whats the point in even having this section if we can't discuss things about it..?

I can understand if its boring for some people, im not the only driver thats encountered an on track incident. Im surprised people kept talking about it lol. But anyway just did another GA race and finished 1st by a mile, none of the other Mustangs were even on pace. So most of the race i was just letting the DP's go. Erik was in the race and finished top 5 so congrats to him.

I'm sorry if I came off a bit harsh, but I think everyone here agree, except the Japanese guy who think he know something the rest of us doesn't. So I kinda thought it was finished talked about. But of course, it's not my forum so go ahead and talk it over agreeing it to death for what I actually care about. I just think it's a shame every other thing mentioned in this thread drown from it.

And Kevin, I got surprised by all the Mustangs really, they made it to easy. I usually wait when I can't overtake safe so I lost a bit of ground sometimes when I planned to hold off until a safe pass could be made. But good race there man, and the Mustang paint job you did looks awesome on track. I loved it.

I was surprised too, after lap 3 i didnt have anyone behind me really. Their lap times were 1-2 seconds slower than me so maybe i got lucky in this one. Thanks for the compliment about the paint! I hope i made it easy for you to get by as the race went on. I know 1 and 2 were close for most of the race and i stayed out of their way when i could.

Mac K, I'm really sorry about getting in your way again.

Some Polish monkey child decided to dive-bomb me in the last corner, of the second lap! He smashed straight into the wall, and ruined the race of four people (three Jettas, and an innocent MX-5.)

I was on the far outside, trying to pass an MX-5, but, the MX-5 pushed me to the grass, and I came back to get back on line, since the MX-5 almost put me off of the track, and then the Jetta behind me smashed through me, hit a wall, spun across the track, and took two more people out.

Then, I was fighting for control, until pit lane was open, etc., to get it repaired, and I spun; After that, I couldn't see the racing line. I didn't know if I was on pavement, grass, or wall! So, I moved instinctively, thinking "Get off of the racing line!" when I was already on the line after spinning. You didn't see me getting back on the track, you saw me trying to get in gear, and get off track.

I'm not the only one that thinks this way mate. The majority does not agree but I'm not the only one.

I think both drivers are at fault here.

I'm with Kamui on this one. I think sometimes we have to realise that we just have to give room to moves we all know shouldn't be made.
Really it all comes back to what was mentioned half a page up.........

Any more news if the McLaren will really be coming out in 10 days time? Might be the only way for me to get back into iRacing at this point.

I think Im done buying new content till the tire issues are resolved. Its really starting to get annoying for me.

Yeah, the tire issue is pretty bad. I just need the GT3 McLaren to get used to the GT3 style car that I might be running next year lol. And, I think it will be a fun car to drive.

Yeah good luck with the step up in your racing career. Hope you make it, just dont forget about us little people when you do.

Hopefully they have a fix for next season. If not Ill probably be moving on to some other racing sim. Its a shame really because I do like the way iracing has it setup for pickup racing with the points.

What the 🤬?

A guy with 17-- iRating is in Division 7, and I've got 1092 and I'm in Division 6? Oh my god, I'm so sick of low SOF races! I'm sick of SOF. Why can't I just race with people who are about equivalently fast, not faster, not slower?

I really enjoy interacting with people so, you don't really have to worry about me forgetting the little people. Some people say that I'm too friendly and interactive sometimes. My director got mad at me this year for talking to a fan when I needed to be at a personal meeting lol.

I'm waiting for P CARS or rFactor 2 to come out to test it. I've heard the rFactor 2 tyre model will be good. Just got to see if they got rid of the arcady feel to the car dynamics from rFactor 1.

I didnt much care for rfactor either. Havent tried 2 hopefully they will release a demo for it. Pcars is coming along pretty well, but its a long way off. What Im waiting for is Assetto Corsa. It is looking very good and should be released in a few months I hope. Supposed to be a tech demo soon.

How's this for a ridiculous conversation (Cadillac @ Laguna Quali session - he was typing - translated from text speak - , I'm mic'd):
Other driver: 'Where do I find good setups for this car?'
Me: 'I don't know if there are any. This is a fixed series - I'm pretty sure all rookie series are fixed setups. Even if you do find one you can't use it here. You can start with the Cadillac series forum or racesetups.com though.'

Od: ??? So almost everyone here is at least 15 seconds faster than me. I don't believe that.
Me: It just comes down to practice. you should try a practice or test session first so you don't destroy your SR. This car and track aren't that easy to just jump into.

Od: I play GT5 and Forza all the time so I'm a good driver. This car is almost undrivable without a setup that works.
Me: But it's a fixed series. Everyone here is using the same setup. Everyone.

Od: Ya right. how are you not spinning every lap? It's impossible.
Me: Practice. start slower and run full clean laps then start going faster each lap.

Od: whatever. anyone else???
Me: well, try this then. go to the garage and lower the tire pressure all the way down in the front tires. that will give you more grip.

Od: how? where do you adjust it?
Me: You don't, that's my point. You can't tune these cars for these races.

Od: Thanks for nothing 🤬 - hole. Anyone else have helpful tuning tips?

 and

GT5 Tuning = Adjusting the gear ratio... Do this and you'll be able to keep up with any tune on the game.

I love how he was trying to give the message across that he/she is the best sim driver ever... He'll/She'll be in for a shock when he gets out of Rookie :)

I'm glad you tried to put him/her in his/her place.

...........

I agree with Erik here. I'm not trying to sound rude or against anybody in any way but iRacing isn't just a thread, it has its own forum so I would have made a new thread about it instead of 3 pages on this one. I actually thought about saying this before but didn't want to be the first one.

At least it was about iRacing unlike the last 6 posts. 👍

Just had another race in the Cadillac Cup. Damn that thing isn't very popular is it. Think there was only 1 split and it had a SOF of 1300. Looking forward to my first week in the Star Mazda next week. :)

Will be interesting to see how the MP4-12c GT3 car compares to the one in SimRaceway, quite a pricey situation to try to make a comparison though! Haven't played iRacing in a while, have they fixed the NTM yet? Last I tried many of the cars on it were just hopeless. It has been quite a while though, my sub run out shortly after they released the NTM for the MX5.

Then I get a good split with the Caddy and I jump start!!

Btw how do you serve a stop and go without changing tyres?

While the start is being staged, bring up the tire and fuel black boxes and deselect the check boxes.
It's a bit silly that they just don't turn that feature off in races that don't need it at all.

How are you liking the Caddy series? I really like it, but it has a bad habit of destroying my SR :( For some reason there's a lot of drivers that cannot control the car at all. Had an 18 driver grid the other day and got punted 3 times in 2 laps due to drivers missing brake zones. Dodging spins in turn 1 and up the hill at Laguna is a regular feature of the series this week.

^ I will say the Caddy is very hard to drive on Laguna and Sonoma.. Very slippery.

It's not the easiest combo, that's for sure, but it's a great challenge.
I'm in for the Laguna race in 20 mins :)

And the name of this game might be...? Haha

Assetto Corsa :)
Yup! Asseto Corsa by Kunos Simulazione!

What's killing that series is it being a Rookir series and Fixed setup on top of it. It's supposed to be moved up on S1 2013 so provided they go open sets it should get a lot better!

I surely hope so! It's a great car, but in it's current position it's being wasted.

On a related note.. has anyone had 'weird' experiences with damage, etc?
In the Caddy Laguna race (that I just quit ) I started 5 out of 11.
6 drivers got away from the pack and we were running consistently - it was looking like a great race 👍
Lap 4 in the corkscrew I wobbled a bit and went off with a half spin after the turn. Not much, pretty lame and all I figured I had lost was 2-3 seconds.
Boy was I wrong.
'car has too much damage' flag and message came up. ????? It was really a nothing incident - no curb bashing, nothing.
At the next left the car oversteered but not too badly. The following right was almost impossible to take, and the pit entrance was so difficult I wound up BEHIND the pit wall. After some ridiculous manoeuvring that led to unsafe pit penalties, etc. I wound up in the stall for over 2 minutes for repairs - isn't the first one a freebie? + 15 seconds of penalties.
I re-enter the race to find the car won't steer or brake properly leading to a very slow spin in turn 2 - right after the pit exit that caused another 'car has too much damage' flag
After making it back to the pit I was prompted for another 3.5 minutes of damage.

So after the best start and potentially best Caddy race I've been in (no incidents in the first 2 laps, pretty close field as quali / lap times go) the race ends due to downright stupid reasons - unexplainable damage.
:grumpy:

I am getting PROPERLY frustrated now.

Constantly getting :censored:ed over by idiots in races. Braking too late and going up your rear bumper, or cutting a corner and sliding into the side of you, no racecraft whatsoever.

Just taken my safety rating from 2.6 D class to below 2 in about 6 races.

🤬 fantastic.

I always find that to be a problem on weekends :(
It's like the weekend warriors wake up and say "I think I'll run some new series I've never raced before without any practice or even a hotlap".
Really frustrating!!!!!
