Haha, we will have to have a re-race sometime because it was actually a great battle all the way through.

Maxitsu, I used to have my brakes lock up on initial test too but I haven't had that happen in a long time, it stopped about a month before I got my CSP's, try calibrating the pedals as often as possible and maybe it'll go away, I even used 0 on the brake curve factor with my DFGT pedals. I think it pretty much just stopped one day.

my last race did go bad again becaus of my wheel. it felt loose in the center and i didn't feel when my car started to slide. my first 4 laps of the race i did go 5 times sideways. In my 10 other races in total just once. :grumpy:

time for a reboot.

Just totally off topic, but I wish to give my condolences to the American people in here. And I really feel with you, I have to admit when I saw it on the news I couldn't even bare to read about it.
So being closer to it must hurt. They had all their life ahead of them, it's just not right!

Thank you Eric, a very close friend of mine lives in CT and his kid's school name is Newintons or something like that, very similar name to the school where it happened. I was worried sick when I called and they were not picking up. Huge relief when he called back to tell me evrything was fine.
A horrible thing, makes me sick just writing about it.

^ Damn...

On a more positive note, someone (Eric Foss, etc) is using iRacing to "test" for the real Daytona 24..

Just on cue my modem goes kaput and I won't get a replacement for at least a week! Damn I'm p_553d!!
Have you guys tried reseting the FFB when that happens to you? Anyways you really really should report it on the iRacing forums!

I'm not sure what you mean by resetting the FFB, so if you could tell me in detail what that is I can answer you yes or no.. And please do, because if it's something I didn't try I must try it.

And reporting it, mhm maybe I do that. Just need the motivation to ignore thrustmaster's fan boys telling my what to do... as I didn't try everything already ;)

So forum might not be the way I go :scared:

I think he means that button on the option screen. Since the last big update there is a button "reset FFB"

But no it doesn't fix anything. If it was that simple i didn't complain here :p

Yup! That's what I meant... You know, sometimes we forget the simplest most obvious steps when troubleshooting, happens to everyone!

well all that did was resetting the values I had to default values. After setting it back to preferred settings it felt just as perfect..

Because I never complained, I just have to restart the game 3 times before the FFB is perfect..

And Maxitsu, if the FFB is lose around center iRacing have said that the only wheel that doesn't have to adjust the min force is the CSW and the pro wheels.. T500RS is not a pro wheel so try increase the Min Force.. I have mine all the way up to 12

In game

FFB strength 12.4
Dampening 3%
Min Force 12

In the Thrustmaster control panel (in windows) I increased my overall strength to 67

EDIT:
I experienced clipping on 69

So dirty...

Well im thinking about picking up 3-4 tracks so i can have more to run in the Mustang/Grand Am series. Anyone have any suggestions? Id like Road Atlanta, Mid Ohio and possibly Mosport since those seem to be popular tracks. Perhaps Road America as well, i already have Watkins and Daytona.

I can't break into that magical 58 second mark in the mustang at LRP, I did a 59.016 and several low 59's and I probably average in the mid 59 range, and after about lap ten I'm in the high 59's to low 1:00's. I just qualified with a 59.226 on lap 1

Safety rating is at it's lowest point after 5 or 6 big collisions on Lap 1 of a Nvidia race, where someone didn't realise you have to wait for the green light and launched it when the lights appeared, and someone who crashed straight into the back of me, followed by someone pit maneuvering someone straight in front of me...

This was my first race of the week....:ouch:
I was the cause of the T1 mayhem.... I caught the dirt and took out half the field.

on a plus side I joined the next race, started 4th, finished 4th with only a few off tracks

Edit: how do you properly put a youtube video on here
this'll have to do

Messy messy. The problem in most leagues is when somebody go sideways, nobody actually now what a brake pedal is. especially at starts.

indeed 👍

Now driving the Riley the steering wheel felt to strong/stiff :/

I though Min force had something to do whit a deadzone's. Some cheap wheels having bigger deadzones. Normally te T500 does not have a deadzone. They suggest to start whit 1.0% and go down untill it feels good for ur wheel.

Could anyone tell me roughly the additional cost of content I'll be looking at to get me through/upto licence c on the road side of things? Not fussed about ovals for now.

Thanks.

I have a hosted session up now on Watkins Glen, "World Challenge GT (Clean)" using the CTS-V, Mustang, and MX-5. 70 mins of practice, 15 min open qualifying, 35 min race with a rolling start. Feel free to join, no password needed.

Correct me if I'm wrong but pretty sure you can drive the MX-5 and get your way to C class. Or you could have a spin in the spec racer ford.

Best deal ATM I think is the Cadillac one as you get a few free tracks with a 3 month membership. https://cadillaccupracing.com

Thanks, didn't realise that I could stick in the mx5 so that's very useful.

Currently promo wise I was looking at the 75$ promo for one year with silverstone and Zandvoort and the Williams car.

So, because of this and this, I'm on track to getting all of my iRacing division based certificates in one single season.

Even my club, by some miracle, is winning in its region... Canada winning. :sly:

Sometimes after crashing & resetting my car appears back in the pits with a completely different level of FFB. Either really strong or very weak, mostly normal though. Is this the same effect you are talking about?

Someone from iracing was investigating this and asking for telemetry files to illustrate the FFB change. Can't find the thread anymore... thought it may have been the CSW one, but no sign of it.

My wheel is a Microsoft Sidewinder, so not limited to a single wheel only.

Hi guys, I'm thinking of signing up for iracing in the near future, probably after Christmas now but would someone tell me if my 2012 MBP will run it in bootcamp.

I've got the basic one so no dedicated card.

I runs on and i5 2.5ghz dual core. (3.1 turbo charged) with intel graphics 4000 built into the processor.

Thanks.

I'm pretty sure it will looking at minimum specs and comparing the NVidia GeForce 7800 benchmarks to the intel graphics built in but advice would be appreciated.

I'm running an older MBP i7 2.66GHz and it runs well getting 100+ FPS in races. But not shared graphics, so it doesn't really answer your question.

Biggest problem for me is the 15" screen ;)

I tried boosting my graphics last night, on my own it was fine, but the more cars in the session the more laggy it became.. I didn't increase them to much (Currently on Level 3, went to Level 2), but it still lagged. Any way to fix this or are those settings just a bit to high for my PC to handle?

It might be the same thing.

They even tried to fix a thing about this..

From the

Season #4 Build Release Notes - 1 Nov 2012

- Retry 5 times when initializing the FFB, hopefully this stops the loss of FFB when entering your car bug that some people have encountered.

They also claimed they fixed the problem Maxitsu is having

- Fix a small bug that could cause FFB forces to be biased to the right when using minimum force.

It might be that I actually like to drive on the FFB when it have lost 50% power, but I adjusted it after that since my computer isn't restarted very often.

But if it got fixed for _real_ I have no problem adjusting it back to the way it should be.

The best thing I ever did for iRacing graphics was to turn off AA and whatever the other thing above it is called in game, and force them in the Nvidia panel. I don't know what kind of card you have, but if it's Nvidia give that a try. It did away with almost any kind of stutters I was having. IRacing has never ran as smooth as it does now for me.
