Just be prepared to have to drive through a field of McLarens if you run the GT Challenge. I have a feeling it's going to be a very popular car in the series, especially for these last four weeks of the season.

Maybe not. I think the fields will be bigger because of the McLaren, but there will be alot of the guys who have been racing the series all season finishing up with the other cars. I know my plan is to finish the seson in the vette. Might be seeing some splits in the series now. :)

For those of you who haven't seen this yet, an iRacing member has created a sound plugin that currently adds things like realistic brake squeal. It really adds so much to the immersion even though it's very simple. He is working to add more features to it and should be releasing a new version soon. It makes the McLaren sound even better!

Going to check this out when I get some errands done. Been wanting some brake squeal sounds on iRacing for some time.

The McLaren is everything that I have been waiting for. A car that is slow but still handles really well. The car is the only car on the sim that actually feels realistic. I can really feel the suspension moving around. Something that lacks on every car on iRacing. The ABS makes braking quite chattery but I guess that is quite realistic. I wonder how much slower it is to turn the ABS off?

Anybody notice that after about 20 minutes of driving, the sound of the car seems to change? It seems to almost sound a little more worn out. You get a nice whine from the engine at higher rpm's. I love it.

The McLaren is fantastic. It's exactly what I've been waiting for, a car that is enjoyable to drive. It doesn't feel like it's trying to kill you, it doesn't feel like it's made out of stone age technology, it doesn't feel like you need to have 5 cups of coffee beforehand just to keep up with the thing.

A good fun car for anyone to drive. Really, really good. Well done, iRacing.

We now have a official Williams FW31 iRacing custom paint template.
And it actually have a workable grid :)

The McLaren is great, but Kamuifunboy, if you honestly can't feel the suspension move on other cars you should do something to your other equipment. Because the rest of the world is feeling it ;)

I should be buying the McLaren today, the missus gave me as a gift. :D I'm just not sure if I'll be able to test it today as I have a company party after work and I don't know at what time I will be home, nor if I'll be in condition to go to iRacing. :P

Good thing I bought Daytona a few weeks ago too.

Took the MP4 for a spin last night. I'm withholding judgement until I try a good setup. The baseline setup has an annoying amount of understeer at corner entry.

Does anyone else with only one screen prefer driving open wheelers simply because of field of view issues? I have a 50" as close as I can get it, giving me a FOV around 73 deg, but even with this I feel like I'm driving while looking through a periscope compared to an open wheeler. I feel that this really is a disadvantage when you can't see the exit before you're at the apex, for example. Because of this I doubt I'll be able to fall in love with an iRacing tin top until I get triple screens going.

Doesn't bother me, I have a 27'' but I'm planning on getting a 36'' or 38'' soon. I do have the look left and look right buttons set on my wheel but I rarely use them unless of course I'm racing side by side with a car.

Try the default medium and high downforce sets. Failing that, try dialing out the stupidly large amount of front toe out the car has.

And 173 degrees FOV? From a single screen? Does it wrap around your head? ;) Did you mean 73?

Welcome to the club!! Now get all the Team Falcon setups from the forums and experience what the beast can really do!

Will do, looking forward to using more of this car next season when im able to get more tracks. What really surprised me about this car wasnt the speed, its the braking, i feel like i can stop on a dime compared to the cars ive been driving. The sound is pretty addicting as well, im sure my neighbors upstairs were wondering why i have a race car in my living room lol.

I saw a post that the understeer on entry is fixed a lot with reducing the decel diff lock.

It's a blast around Daytona, and it looks great (much better looking than the Mclaren..). I find its a bit lose on exit, but with careful throttle control that can be fixed. I love it too, even though I don't really race it that much.

God! How big a masochist am I!! Just bought the 12C and I can't even use it for another week!!

Jumped in a legends race with 2 laps practice today and no quali. started 8th and passed 4 cars on track plus 2 1 lap downers and had no incidents except after I crossed the checkered I used to much brake and spun:dopey: but it was a great race

The best lap I got last night from testing around Sebring in the MP4. Baseline setup with ARB adjustments only. Going to have to give the Diff adjustments a go. 2:01.9 was the time for this lap.

Thanks for posting that, it was a joy to watch. Trying to study how you attack those corners, you sure were busy on the wheel!

maybe do a couple random paints for various cars each day to cure your boredom then have a mass showing on the paint thread when you get internet

Race 2: blew the engine going into turn 1 lol (legend)

Nice lap Kamu!

I just jumped into the most crazy thing ever, a hosted demolition derby.. Oxford Plains, Street Stock, Legend and MX-5. Essentially it was everything iRacing isn't :p Lots of fun and good way to blow off steam when you're bored.. I just feel bad about beating up my poor little MX-5.. :(

Indeed. 173 is what I wish I had.
