Bummer! That won't work for me. I'm only good to hop on the rig after 7:30 pm (eastern).

My schedule sucks!

Participation in the L79 series isn't that low anymore. It's pretty busy during the weekends and the top split races has some of the strongest SOF in iRacing.

After checking some of the results pages a few weeks back, for me to hit those races I would be racing well after midnight or get up at 4 in the morning.
That car is a handful when you are wide awake buzzing on Red Bull in the middle of the day, no way am I trying it half asleep

Yeah being in the Japan/Australia time zones makes it difficult to get races in the less popular series that don't have a big Aussie following.

I was watching your practice session Kevin earlier, whats with everyone bump drafting? :p

I was just watching a roar before the 2.4 practice session... Holy cow is there a ton of bump drafting! Seems like that's your only way to get a good lap time!

I suppose this is the best place to ask this; Anyone have a idea of what cars and tracks are coming out this year with a time frame of when they will come out?

This is just guessing based on what has been said by the staff:

Almost certain:

Kia Optima (been in secret development, could come out this season or next)
NASCAR Chevy and Ford Cup Cars (S1 2013)
Lotus 49 (S1 2013)
RUF RT12R (who knows, I'd guess S3 2013)
BMW Z4 (highest priority BMW, so I would guess S3 or S4 2013)
Interlagos (S1 2013)

Maybe:

BMW M3
Honda Civic
Honda HSV-010
BMW 1-series
Bathurst
Updated IndyCar

I don't think it's possible for them to release all of that in one year, we'll just have to see what their priorities are. Interlagos is confirmed for S1 2013 as well as the new NASCAR Cup cars as well as the Lotus 49 (if the schedule holds up this time).

The rest is basically a crap shoot. I know there is some content I'm missing, but that's the stuff that seems to get talked about the most.

Thanks a ton! Looks like I'm going to be spending some money this year!

I think we will see the M3 first because it'll be the most accesible to scan and gather data from...

I know the Z3 won by a landslide, hell I also voted for the damn thing! But it seems more accesible for them to just get the M3 since there's 3 of them States side vs no Z3...

I'm pretty sure the cup cars are being released mid season, I know for sure that the Ford was estimated to be 2 weeks behind the chevy

As you may have heard, we are happy to let members know that we are busy working on the new Sprint cup car that is coming to NASCAR in 2013. In fact, the car is so new; we are basically building them in lock-step as the data becomes available to real-world teams for testing.

We can’t go any faster than we are going but our goal is to have the car available for the iRacing race week starting March 5th, which is 4 weeks into iRacing season 1. We are also in the unique position of needing to swap out the existing cup car for a new car, while keeping the existing series, actually multiple series since the “Cup” Car races in several different series. The problem is we can’t just swap the car in the middle of a season because of the way our system works.

Therefore we have a couple of options and, at the end of the day, opted to just start the season late with the new G6 car for our class A fixed and open series, and do an 8 week season rather than our normal 12 weeks. Guessing will have 2 drop weeks for that 8 week season. Although plenty of other NASCAR vehicles to drive, especially with our new expanded schedule that is coming this season, if you are looking for a Cup Car fix during those 4 weeks, we still will run the old cup car for a full twelve weeks in the unofficial Carb Cup Series running next season. Additionally, we also will be doing the Daytona 500 World Tour event with the old car during the week of the real-world 500 and may also add some other racing with the current cup car during those first four weeks of the season.

We are also going to delay the start of the NASCAR iRacing Drivers World Championship Series a couple weeks so we can start it with the new car. Also of note to some, the top 10 drivers from the open class A series using the new G6 car in season 1 will still receive their pro license, just like last year. Although we may reduce it from top 10 to something like 8, more to follow soon on that. Lastly, we are going to delay our new NASCAR event series featuring the cup car that mirrors the real-world cup series for the entire season. Instead we are going to start it with this new car in the beginning of March so will only miss a couple races most likely. Again we will still have the Daytona 500 World Tour Event with the old car.

Good Racing!!!
👍

I'm curious to see how many folks actually switch makes in game. I know I will be using the Chevy but wish Toyota would step up for atleast trucks which I think their models look way better than current Chevy.

I guess if there's any difference in performance between them people will just go for the faster one.

I doubt they will actually make them any different performance wise just body is all but thats assuming. It's a pipe dream I'm sure for now.

Qualified with a 2:07.275 for the Roar in the Mustang. Not my fastest but it's a comfortable pace for me, really looking forward to it.

I practiced a bit with the HPD last night for the World Cup finals which will happen this Saturday. I was using Hugo Luis' setup that he shared with the Club but somehow I just can't match his time, not sure why...

Not sure I'll make it to the race though, only the top 9 qualifiers from each club will be able to race and my time is a bit high so far (1:49 high). They said the Germans and Finns are all doing 48's and 47's...

For anyone who is interested in the Hosted Roar Practice race tonight:

I'm dumping the Jetta for tonight's race to try and get more participation, so all the content you'll need is the Mustang and Daytona. :dopey:

Come join the fun, practice starts at 8:00, qualifying at 8:40, and the race starts at 9:00.

The password is clean-racing-only

Hope to see some of you out there!

Which Daytona, because I can get 2007 but not anything else. And this all may be irrelivent depending on what time zone your timesare for

^The new Daytona, the same one they are using for the Roar. The room opens at 8:00pm eastern. Not sure what that equates to in GMT.

It has to come out before the second week of S1. It's scheduled as the second weekend of the Izod indycar series.
I'm pretty sure we'll get it on Monday for Week 13!
