Sounds like will be some good racing tonight. If I was off, I might have just bought the track to race for fun!

Anyone else running the 2.4 next week? I'm debating starting from the pits to avoid getting taken out in T1. Because rolling starts coming into T1 is almost always crazy. It's a 160 minute race, so I think giving up 15 seconds or so in the beginning to be safe might just be worth it.

I will definitely be starting from the pits. Rolling the dice on the first corner is insane with 160 minutes of racing. Simply being able to keep it clean the whole race will give a very respectable finish.

DAMN!!! STUPID ATT INTERNET!!! Got a great start from 11th and was leading by lap 4! Led up to lap 10 and while in second going trough the MX5s got disconnected!!! ARRRGHHH!!!! Just can't catch a break in the damn world tour!!!

I really hate when crap like that happens! Atleast it wasn't during the 2.4 though.

I'm curious is there another race tomorrow? Or just tonight.

Oh so ill get to race after all! I dont go into work until 6pm and i see there is one for 1pm, sweet. Also i think ill have to call in "sick" to run the 2.4 race, ive missed too many iracing events i am NOT missing that one.
 
How did everyone's race go? I started from the pits and made it up to 9th. Never turned many laps in the mustang so i was just glad to see 0x and +20 SR. Although I did lose 20 IR :(
 
What a race, that was intense! I started P6, but ended up P10 after lap 1 when I had to avoid a crash. I worked my way up to 4th by lap 5, right behind the leaders when I was punted and fell to 10th again, with little damage. I managed to work my way back throuhg the feild and finish 3rd, around 20 seconds behind the leaders. I'll be back tomorrow for sure, that was awesome.

(I was in split 7 BTW)

Edit: I got the fastest lap for an MX-5 too, a 1:16.069
 
I went from last to 5th in the mx5 and blue screened at the 52 minute mark. Came back on and was in 11th. That was frustrating.

Make sure you get a quali lap in tonight after work! Tomorrow it's gonna be silly with traffic.

Well I got from 11th to 1st by lap 4 and led 10 laps, at the half point as the leader 1 second ahead and me where working traffic my stupid internet connection had a seizure and got booted! Joined again and 1 lap down, 2 laps after got booted again!
Yeah, it sucked for me! Big time!!
 
Well.... At least it's over?? I started 2nd, had a great start and lead for a lap or two. Then I was going to be passed into the busstop.. fine. Then he decided it was a better choice to push me up to the wall and force me to go straight.. Then I have to slow down, which puts me mid-pack. So I'm dealing with the typical mid pack junk, then I get another corner penalty avoiding anther car. I would've slowed down, but they were 3 wide behind me, and I couldn't get out of the way until turn one. Apparently that's too late, so I get a black flag. I serve the penalty and I'm in 12th. From then on I'm just cruising practicing for tomorrow. THEN, I get into a battle for 9th and 10th. That's going pretty good until the last lap, when in true NASCAR fashion, he runs me into the wall about 3 feet away from the line :(

I am just glad it's over. On the brighter side, Jav and spoogle (SORRY!) were in my split! Too bad Team GTP couldn't have done better in our split.
 
We had 3 ringers in split 5. The winner of the race had a qualify time of 2:06:2. His fastest lap was a 2:05:3 with a average of 2:06:3. Pretty much the same for the other 2 guys. Kinda ruined the race for everyone else. It could of been pretty good race if it wasnt for that.
 
I started 19th in split 6 in the Mustang. Worked my way up to 10th or so and got behind a guy I just couldn't get around. I was faster than him in multiple sectors, but didn't want to force the issue. After several laps of great battling, he lost it going into the bus stop. I picked off a few more and was up into 5th, but the 6th place car was steadily gaining on me. I held him off for several laps, but then he was able to use traffic to his advantage and make the pass. With about 2 laps to go, he got held up a bit going through the bus stop. I pull left to pass him on the exit and there's an MX5 dead in my way. It came out of no where! I had to hit the brakes hard to keep from creaming him. This allowed the 7th place car to pass me as well. We had a good back and forth battle for about a lap and then I was able to pull away and finish 6th. It was great fun!

Man That damn race was within reach! at one point I had a 2 second lead to 2nd place, it was a matter of cruising to the final 5 minutes to attack the leader!

No ringers in my split, although a buddy of mine said in his split, the guy who won's average lap was faster than his qualifying lap... Anyways, started last in my class (19th) and finished 9th. I had the leaders in site and had the pace, but a few slower Mustangs and MX-5 traffic halted some of my progress. I got hit with 20 minutes to go by another Mustang but the damage was minor, all and all a great race. I think I'll run it again tomorrow. :)
 
Not sure if I'm going for redemption tomorrow... Lost 100 iR tonight thank's to my crappy internet provider!
 
Holy Cow, that was amazing.

Split 1 was nuts. I started 18th, which was 2nd to last in the Mustangs, kept it clean the whole first few laps while people got sorted out. After a few laps we started dicing for position, and it ended up that 8th through 12th was within 1.5 seconds for the entire balance of the race.

I made a few good decisions, kept the car clean and ended up 10th on the last lap, then with some good luck I nailed the bus stop and got a monster run to pass 10th for 9th right before start finish. Woah!! What a race. :nervous:

That was the most (stressful) fun I've had in a long time. The best part is because of the practice last night I ended up with 0 incidents; this also shows how clean the other guys were around me.

Awesome race, awesome night!!

Jav, sorry to hear about your internet. That blows man!! 👎
 
Well looks like I know what I'm doing tomorrow morning since I can't race in the 2.4 at all. This should be interesting with learning the track and racing but pretty sure I won't be the worst in MX5 since only car I own.
