What times are the Daytona 500’s?

One is 1900 GMT on Saturday, the other is 0200 GMT Saturday.

It says the dates on the left side of the website and in the news. But I guess because it has been down so much recently, or been slow enough that they don't load in time, not everybody will see them.

WOOHOO! Won my first oval race! Indy fixed at Talladega! Yes, I know Talladega doesn't take as much skill to win but it took some strategy to win since we only had one caution and we all had to pit. Some pitted early but I waited until we got the caution and got lucky with my timing. Made a pretty nice move on the leader in turn 3 of the last lap and won by less than a tenth! Really exciting race! I normally don't like Talladega because I'm not good at the tandem racing, but Indy cars can't tandem, so this was really fun for me.

Started in 10th, never thought I had a shot at winning. Super happy! :)

Grand-Am is at Zolder this week. Got my time down to a 1:30.245 and an optimal of 1:29.495, but can’t improve anymore. Say I gain a tenth in one corner I lose 4 tenths in the next chicane. Could it be a setup issue or my driving?

It could be either smuffy, you'd probably need to record it and put up a video or iRacing replay to download to see if your over/under driving it or if it's the set-up.

Great week for racing this week. Mustang and Skippy at Spa, Star Mazda and Grand-Am at Zolder. Hopefully getting Zolder tomorrow night :)

I wish I had the time... I missed the glen and I intentionally skipped/ didn't have time to practice enough on okayama, it looks like I won't be running a full season for quite sometime

You can say that again! Add the GT Challenge at Watkins, and the GT Cup at Spa to the list :D
Way too many decisions....

And why not add SRF at Spa to that list as well! I won't be doing Zolder though, I'll get enough incident points at Spa, the 1x seems very strict at both tracks.

Dam, missed that one. I have a serious hate / love relationship with the SRF that doesn't involve much love.
I'd race a unicycle at Spa if it came up though so the SRF will definitely get a re-visit. Thanks for pointing it out 👍

You guys are right about the great racing this week. I didn't even get a chance to turn my pc on for 2 weeks, then the week I do get to there is too much to do!
Mustang at Spa, V8 at Watkins, Truck at Daytona and I'm thinking of trying the 500 as well

Between exams and catching a bug, I haven't raced in awhile, looks like I'll be busy this weekend.

Saturdays is 7pm gmt. Can't remember the Friday time, 2pm gmt perhaps? Not sure.

Daytona 500 World Tour Event:

Friday @2:00 GMT(9pm Eastern)
Saturday @7:00GMT(2pm Eastern)

Hopefully I can actually finish this event this year, or at least see the checkers. Got caught up in a wreck about 100 laps in last year.

I'll be doing the Friday race. Going to be a great primer for the weekend. I fly out Saturday to go to the 500 on Sunday.

Have fun at the race itself!

I was worried I wouldn't get my replacement wheel back in time but looks like it will be here Friday! I guess I need to make sure I have the content and a setup.

I've been running the one by Paul Jennings in the Carolina room. Seems decently fast and stable. This will be my first super speedway race, so I've just been practicing driving in a pack. I do ok while getting pushed, but I think my pushing needs work. I felt like I kept un-settling the front car when I'd bump them, so I started just hanging right on their bumper, but with minimal contact. This is over a second slower than the fastest pairs, though. Any tips for a bump draft rookie?

Saw this at the iRacing forums, IST have been going downhill for a long time in my book. Anyone seen the Darin Daytona 2.4 rant video? Getting annoyed, swearing and ranting at a driver who was fairly defending position. Must have though he had a god given right because he is Darin.

The guys from Inside Sim Racing are going nuts on their latest videos ranting about trolls on the iRacing forums xDDD

omg, so much butthurt.

Oh wow! I can't believe they're still pleading their case. Out of 688 votes on the iRacing forums 634 have told them they are in the wrong, isn't that enough for the big ape to issue an official appology not only to the other guy but to our entire sim racing community??

After watching it I was dissapointed, after seeing Big Ape's reply on their own forums I lost all respect for them and unsubbed from the show.

Disagreements are part of the landscape, but in order to maintain a pleasant environment for all community members, participants must not use rude or hostile language. Those who engage in a pattern of such behavior will face penalties that may include revocation of membership.

Seeing as these two clowns decided it was a good idea to show the member's name from the iRacing screen and trash him continually, if I was that driver I'd file a protest for their moronic attempt at a public flogging.
Using a broadcasted public video to air a grievance like they did is beyond pathetic.
Why do guys have 2000+ posts?--- because they don't have a video fourm to discuss / rant their opinions.
Have these two always been such pricks? I only knew of them a little before the Daytona rant and I can't believe what I see to be honest.

They're still at it? Are they not grown men? Honestly.. To be fair it looks like they were trying to apologise for things, until they brought up the forum discussion, although some of the people they mention only log on to "troll" the forums.

Lol! Yeah, they are supposed to be grown man apparently they didn't get the memo! I still haven't seen the video, guess I'll check it out in a bit.

I will probably use that setup or the one in the forums.

The best advice I can tell you to be a better pusher is you have to pay attention to where you are on the track to know when to turn but ALOT has to do with the guy your pushing. If they won't be stable and smooth, then it won't work. The thing is regardless is small movements and smooth, I normally run 16:1 ratio too which helps.

Gonna upload my time round Zolder, it's only a 1:27.090 but I nailed the first chicane... And for that I'm happy.

The first part of the video was fine, talking about basherboards, the second part started ok I guess but I'll mostly stay out of the second part controversy, seems to me like a circle here..........

And Jav, you're really confusing me with that new helmet! ;)

I like ISR. I think Darin overreacted and just let his mouth speak before he had time to cool. I was happy to see the victim of the incident taking it lightly. If everyone was like the victim, there would be no arguments. As far as he could see, it was just one big battle that ended in a driver ending his own race. ISR should definitely go back to doing sim reviews and maybe mods. I'm not too interested in sim rigs.
