They gave me back the credit for the Gen6 Chevy. Great service iRacing, quick and friendly folks.

What's with people over these past couple weeks, I keep getting nailed from behind and driven into in the strangest places and my SR is down to 1.05 as I keep getting 4x like flies on you know what..

Quit braking so early ;)

Must be the nice rear view they have!

I have had weird issues lately on oval side at Atlanta which has only one major issue is getting loose out of 2 but it seems like you stall out alot with moving yet people need to over drive the race which puts me in bad spots. I don't mind being aggressive but when you have to almost pass under the white line, then you are forcing the issue. Also as soon as you pass me, you see there is no where to go either or I'd already moved up.

I've had other races where I've had people run all over me because I've had to get out of gas some to not run all over others. I wish people knew how to properly not always be full throttle and just learning some patience. I've almost dropped to C class from A.

Seriously though, I'm not braking early at all, people are completely shooting through the braking zone and taking me with them.

Was going to run the race today but ended up waking up this morning in a cold sweat with a fever. I ended up watching the live stream of the top split on my laptop in bed. :(

I only posted that for mere banter. I just did my first test session in a month or so. Still waiting for service stability before I get back to racing.

I'm wondering if that's why there has been some blinking for me lately as my Internet isn't the issue at all.

bummer! You have been on iRacing for some time now, so you know what you need to do get your iRating back up.

good luck!
:)

Yeah it's been strange for me as well. Some blinking, but what's odd is that sometimes only the cars behind me disappear from my F3, sometimes only the cars in front... Last week I tried to do a race at Indianapolis with the Dallara and three or four cars were blinking non stop. Really weird and annoying.

Anyway, is anyone else racing the GT Challenge this week? I did some practice with the McL yesterday with a qualy setup from the forums but I'd appreciate if someone has a race setup to share.

Depends what sort of times are considered fast. I was down to a 1:42.2 with race fuel earlier today in the McLaren. If that's fast, I'll share my setup when I wake up in the morning.

Do you mean 1:52.2? If not I'm afraid I'm ten seconds off pace. :P

I believe my PB is 51 low with qualy fuel, so 52.2 with race fuel seems pretty good.

Sorry 1:52.2. Stupid 4 has to be next to 5 haha. I'll post the setup in the morning. It's based off of the baseline set. Only thing changed really is the spring perch, front toe, and camber adjustments. I'm sure there is a lot that you can do to make the set even faster :)

I'm loving the new GEN6 car. Has revived my interest in the oval series on iRacing. The cars look and sound great.

That's my next purchase.

Out of curiosity, does buying the Gen5 car first save me money or should I just buy the Gen6?

I believe you'll just want to buy the GEN6 car. If you owned the GEN5 previous to the GEN6 release, those folks got a $6 credit.

And you don't need both the Chevy and Ford to race. Buy which ever one you want and just download the other car from the optional downloads section.

Want the Ford but want to race now which means I want the Chevy which leaves me wanting both..

Ah well..

@Livemusic Here you go mate :)

Actually, I decided to just put all of my McLaren sets in the .zip. So, anyone is free to use them :) They're set up for my driving style though so, no guarantee that they will make you fast or anything.

/\ Thanks for those ! I'm on the verge of a .53 which is far from impressive but its a nice stable race set so..... :) I'm keen to try something different though as I'm finding the front tires getting too hot if I push that little bit too hard.

I had never driven the track and had no time after work to practice so a 30.9 is all I could do. Relatively happy considering.
