The Skip looks really fun but looks stupidly frustrating at the same time. I probably will end up getting into the Mustang class. It does look really good to drive and compete in, as does the Skippy but the 'Stang just has the edge to me (partly 'cause I can "drive" the Skippy in rF2 👍)

Is the iracing site down for anyone else right now? I'm not even getting the site undergoing maintenance page.

Ugh, middle of the weekend and iRacing decides to cark it. Again.

Is it just me or are they having a lot of niggling issues at the moment? Probably not the greatest idea in the world for them to be disgruntling their customers, with AC just around the corner and pCARS and rF2 not much further.

Yeah, an updated F1, IndyCar and a LMP1 should be on the list ahead of another NASCAR,

But who will let iRacing scan a new F1 car where the technology is so secretive that even a 2010 car would give away too much. Considering Codemasters probably use scanners to scan the outside and then mimic the performance and handling.

I agree. I've been talking to my counterparts at Toyota about getting the TS030 on the service but, there's a reason why Fuji Speedway was not scanned. Toyota doesn't seem to want to be a part of the service.

Now, here's something interesting. I had a long discussion with one of the designers at Dallara in India. I am emailing him about it right now as well. I told him that the service was missing a fast Formula car because right now you go from Star Mazda straight to F1 or Indy. He said it's highly possible that they could talk to iRacing about the Renault 3.5 Machine or the old GP2 car. It's up to Renault to deal with the engine though. If iRacing gets a new car from Dallara, they better give me everything on the service for free lol.

Yep, apparently iRacing needs a "Pit Stop"!

Getting old that this keeps happening.

Surely a Dallara Formula 3 car would make a lot of sense? Its one of the more widely used Formula cars - even if they just replaced the Star Mazda with it.

You also have less of a problem with engines with that car.

Technically Toyota are in the service - in the back of the Williams.

The problem with the Formula 3 car is that I'm not sure that Dallara wants to let iRacing to a full laser scan on it. The F3 has so much more Aero and Windtunnel time than most of their other Formula Cars.

Running out of fuel while leading a high SOF race with half a lap left sucks..

They will probably give you iRacing credit, but how much, i don't know. I don't remember how much iRacing credit was given to the guys that helped iRacing scan Montreal. I'm guessing $100+ of iRacing credit.

Yep , did that last week.:yuck: 2 corners short of the line at Watkins boot. (although I wasnt leading , it was still looking like a decent result for me.)

Since then I'm putting in more than the recommended amount , at least 2 laps more. Just made it home at Spa last night using that method in the V8SC

Probably silliest question ever but anyway. I've been on class B quite a while now. I mainly competed in the GT Challenge which is class C. I decided to do the MPR for next class and have met all the requirements but still no promotion.

If you want to be promoted immediately, you have to get your SR over 4.0. Or else, wait for the regular promotions at the end of the season.

Ok thanks! Should get to 4.0 no problem.

Done a couple of oval races and really enjoyed it. Oval racing doesn't really do it for me so I was quite surprised.

Watching oval racing has always been like watching paint dry for me. But once I tried actually racing it on iRacing I was immediately hooked. I love the oval Indycar series especially. I'll be racing the new A-class series as often as I can, but if they don't add an Asian/Aussie time slot it's going to be tough.

My 🤬 computer/wheel doesn't remember my previous settings and I'm now stuck with a craptastic steering. What are your suggestions for wheel settings on a G27 while driving a Mazda MX5 Cup? Do I set the Logitech profiler on 200 or 900 degrees? What about the in-game settings?

Thanks in advance!

900 and 900 in game. That is what I use. The force feedback is pretty much just messing around until it feels right.

http://members.iracing.com/jforum/posts/list/2023748.page This thread is great for settings. At first it seems like alot of stuff, but it really is a pretty simple process and the results are great.

There are tools to help find the maximum FFB setting before clipping occurs, including the built in inputs black block. I think it's best to run the highest FFB strength you can without clipping so you can better feel the subtle FFB outputs.

Wait time for iRacing? 2 years. Shame.

According to the iracing forums they have it fixed now where you can just download the ford and don't have to buy it to race.
