Yeah, that sounds like a classic netcode problem. I race the Indy car regularly, it's my favorite oval car, but due to the both the speed of the car and how twitchy and quick it is you'll see quite a few netcode contacts. I've had a half a lane between myself and another car before, but on his screen I ran right into him, he crashed and got a 4x and damage, I kept on driving like nothing happened, no 4x, no 0x, etc.

It's all a part of the Indycar unless you end up in a race with only guys from your region. Being in Asia, I never get guys in my region except a couple regulars that I always race with.

We actually talked about how those cars are so much faster than stock cars and figured that was one issue to why it reacts like it does. We only had 6 people in the room too, it's all good I've had a few net code issues as of late.

I'm not too worried about it as we raced for 125 laps before it happened with some major battles.

GTC is class D though right? what's the difference between the inRacing news and the GTC aren't they the same cars and pretty much similar tracks?

Try to take advantage of running as many full seasons as you can to take advantage of race credits. It maxes out at $10 per season, so one A-B class season and one C-D season will max it out. But running full seasons and having the 25% discount has meant I've gotten everything that has come out for the last year for free (or very cheap, like $2).

So running your full season in the Jetta + a full season in the inRacing News series would get you $8 for doing nothing but racing.

It's one of the many ways to help reduce the cost of iRacing.

I have other hobbies to keep up on, so time and money get spread thin (I'm also a student pilot), otherwise I would run a full season.
I get so little time that I have trouble maintaining a C license (between 2.1 and 2.6, currently 2.27)

Coming up on week 11.....

What is everyone's plans for next season?

Anyone else?

I'll be racing the V8 supercar and the Riley DP.

Started practicing with the V8 last week trying to get up to speed before season 2. As with most people, it takes a bit more practice to get going in the V8. Bad news is my schedule don't allow me to race in the American V8 series on Thursday and Friday evenings. I'm a second shifter so I don't get home till 12 or 1am. This leaves me with only being able to run with the Aussies at 4 to 5am. Time wise, its not that bad for me. I'll just stay up a few more hours on Sunday and Monday mornings. The real bad news is I gotta start running some cracking laps in that V8 to keep up with the Aussies. I'll be getting placed in the top split most likely with my iRating being at 36xx something. Hopefully they accept me joining in because will probably be the only American running the Aussie timeslot. Or at least one of the few.:) Hope to just run some clean races no matter where I finish and then when I get some more experience in the car to start pushing the boundaries a bit and see if I can keep up with the top 10 in top split. No doubt its going to be a challenge.👍

Will run another season in the DP. Just love that car. Currently sitting top 15 I believe in Division 2. My iRating keeps going up and up running in the DP and its going to get knocked back down in the V8 most likely.

This is one of my gripes with the iRating system. Its where it should be or even a bit higher in the DP. But in the V8 running with the Aussies it should be lower and I should probably be a 2nd splitter. Wish we had iRating seperated by car. I'm no doubt better in the DP than the V8. I know it will eventually level out, but its going to be culture shock in those first few V8 races.

What is everyone's plans for next season?

I'll be running full seasons in the Indy car fixed oval series again of course and probably the Proto/GT fixed, I'll continue running the NASCAR iRacing Series when I can, the McLaren in Grand-Am if I can ever find a damn official race in my time zone, mess around with the Star Mazda, etc.

If the Lotus 49 comes out I'll try it out for sure, we should be getting the Kia which might turn out really fun with the Cadillac. I enjoy driving the slower cars in multi-class series, so the Kia will be great for me, especially since I hate the land-barge Cadillac.

Anyone else?

I'll probably not do a full season like I usually do. Usually get lazy at some point and don't feel like playing iRacing.

I'm planning on taking on the Grand Am series in the McLaren. I am just absolutely loving this car. It just sounds amazing and feels really realistic to me.

Lack of time and sometimes interest keeps me from running full seasons in the series that I really want to which is both endurance series (Proto/GT Open and Grand-Am). So for my "payout" series I just run quick fixed races in Indy and Proto/GT. Then I run whatever else I can when I can.

Hi guys, just signed up on a 2 month deal and really enjoying it. Any t500 users willing to share there wheel settings?

Have any of you tried the Radical ?
Used to be a fairly popular car, now official races are hard to come by.

GTC and inRacing News both use the Solstice, the inRacing News uses the right hand drive MX-5 Roadster while GTC uses the left hand drive MX-5 Cup, along with the Jetta. inRacing news only runs on "default" or free tracks every member already has while GTC runs a majority of "add on" tracks. This current season 9 out of the 12 weeks in GTC are all on add on tracks.

OK, but I don't recall quoting you

I Know you didn't 'recall quoting me', but as I said, I was only saying what I have heard and I did mention that several times in my post.

I'm not sure if this was sarcasm or what, but I sometimes ask specific people questions on this site and get replies of many others. I'm just happy to get some information and feedback.

It's a great car that gets no love in the service. Why is a mystery to me. I've done a hosted race in it a while back but have been unable to find an official race since then. I will do a TT or just bang out some laps for fun in it every now and then.

Probably because it's not part of a major racing series. I sometimes enjoy driving it but, it's not very fun to race for some reason.

Does it have the NTM?

Just updated my graphics card from a GT 545 to a GTX 660. WOW!

Very impressed with the graphics, there's so much depth and texture, I would say that they are better then GT5 IMO

This is the 1st season that it's been so hard to find official races. I'm off pace of the leaders, but that's due to me not being able to left foot or heal & toe brake. It seems like since the introduction of the McLaren , participation dropped. As far as I know the tires have been updated.

Well, I'm now officially an iRacing member again. Just got the free 3-month deal from Cadillac. :)

The Radical does have the NTM.

I really like the car, it feels great to me, but being in the Asia-Pacific region it's impossible for me to find an official race during the times that I would actually be awake. Maybe once I get back to the US for good next month I'll be able to race it from time to time.

Even if I'm off the pace I still have fun, as long as I've got someone back there off the pace with me to race against, I'm fine. :)

Is it the 660 Ti? If so, it's a great graphics card.

So it is on the NTM.

And I agree. It has a great sound and is a lot of fun to drive when I don't feel like doing anything else on iRacing.

Grand Am should be pretty popular on season 2, the Riley is getting new physics so that's going to bring in strong numbers for that car!

Is it really? That should be exciting. Hopefully it doesn't feel so clunky like it does now. Hopefully it becomes even more fun than it already is.

That's what I'm hoping, mainly the low speed grip. I'd love for it to have real life performance, but that would mean the McLaren would become as fast or faster than the DP and iRacing would have to start looking for a replacement...

Welcome to the darkside! 👍

I had more clean races in one month of iRacing pickup races than 2 years of GT5 pickup races! edit...the rookie races can be brutal. Once you get out of rookie class or higher iRating the racing gets better.
:)

Just had my first truck race after buying it yesterday. 16 truck field at Rockingham, didn't qualify, started 11th finished 7th. Pretty happy.

sick of idiots in this sim, every race it seems there is always at least one person who thinks they need to win the race in the first corner. so annoying when you are trying to maintain your safety rating and irating.

Don't take this the wrong way, but maybe analyze your driving style a bit when you get into these incidents. Could you drive more defensively perhaps? Give up a spot in the start and make the pass later on when it's not such a cluster ****?

If you are getting into crashes like this every race, start looking at yourself as well. Not saying you are at fault, you just need to think about what you could have done to avoid that accident. If you drive defensively, basically expecting the people around you to cause an accident at every corner, you will do much better. You may lose a position or two doing this, but at least you'll finish the race.

I'm not sure what series you are running, but it does get better. For example, in the race I just finished we had 19 HPD's go through turn 1 and the little "S" right after and not one person went off or hit someone else. There was a wide range of iRating too, 800-5000. It doesn't go that well every time, but the higher you get the racecraft typically gets better too.

Best of luck!

A GT3 faster than a DP? I don't think so Jav..
