I'm there with you Kamuy, I ussually end up beating my quali lap on long races like this by a couple of tenths, specially in Daytona with the long straights and so many cars around to give you a tow.

Seems like all of my personal best laps have been during races, not in quali.

I always qualify with the same setup I race with, so my race times are right on cue with my qualifying time

Yes Im also a few tenths faster in race than qualifying, but that's not what Im referring to. Take my split from last year, the guy who won the race was a second faster in his average laps over the whole 2 hr. than he qualified at. His fastest lap was almost 2 sec. faster. If hed of been in the top split (where he belonged) he would of been been 3rd with his times. Instead he bagged his way down to the 6 or 7th split (cant remember now) and walked away with the win by a mile. He was running alien times in the middle splits.

It's easily possible that he either qualified really early in the week or he was able to find some pace during the race. You never really know sometimes.

True, not everyone has the time to do multiple quali sessions. Personally I really don't see why someone would sand bag to be on a bottom split. First it's just stupid to fool yourself like that with an easy win and second, you're exposing yourself to a more inexperienced field that may have a couple of turn 1 heroes waiting to wreck you at the first time they get.

To get in the prize pool. He wouldn't of qualified for a prize in the top split, he would of been 3rd. He did receive one in our split though.

You should have said hello! I might have stayed longer then. I was giving the Skippy a go with NTM5 because I hadn't driven it for two years or so. She's much more manageable but still very unforgiving. The car is like that in real life so, I guess it's quite realistic.

I will next time. I think I noticed you behind me but I had a stop and go for speeding in the pits. Next time I looked you were gone.

So... How do you guys feel about iRacing removing the McLaren from the 2.4? Seems like the hardcore ultimate reality fanboys win again:
Let iRacing know how you feel about it:

Personally I think it was a real stupid decision when we could've had 2 cars battling on the same class.

I was planning on running the McLaren like last year. I guess I'll skip it this time.

On a happier note, I got my first win racing a top split skippy race last night. Kind of lucky their was only one split and the sof was really bad. The only fast guy got taken out in a battle with another driver.

I believe I read that the splits were going to be determined by iRating instead of qualy time this year. At least for events that are part of the Road Warrior series. I plan to run the Friday night race in the RUF. Assuming tv/streaming coverage of the 24 is good enough (fingers crossed), I'll miss the rest of the 2.4 races.

Well unfortunately I don't think I will be on Gran Turismo or iRacing for a few months. Starting about a year ago my Throttle Pedal has been a bit inconsistent and will occasionally only register 85% throttle. My fix in the past was to just clean the throttle pedal area and it seemed to fix things. Well, as of today, the pedal clean trick has stopped working and I cannot get the pedal to register the last 15% of my pedal movement. :(

Was really looking forward to racing the 2.4 this year in the DP for the first time. Guess I won't get to do that now.

I know this isn't the most ideal fix, but for iracing couldn't you just recalibrate the pedals? When you recalibrate the pedals in iracing it should detect your 80% throttle as 100% throttle. You wont have as much resolution as you should, but you should be able to get full throttle.

Just interchange your clutch and throttle sensors, what pedals are you using?

I tried to do this. I did get full throttle to register but, it was really frustrating for me. As my driving style depends on having really precise throttle control on the exit of corners, it has made it a bit more difficult to do that.

Using the Clubsport Pedals V1. Haven't got a clue how to work on them.

Oh it's real easy, to the right of the pedal's leg you'll see a metal looking plate with 3 allen screws. Just remove that, unplug the sensors from the board and swap them around, you're done!
Very important, there are 3 nylon spacers you can't loose, so don't loose them!!

Have you given the fix a shot? It's real simple stuff so don't be afraid to give it a go!

I'll have to give it ago tomorrow evening. My grandfather is away for business and he took all the tools with him. Som no allen wrenches in the house.

Happens to mine when they are connected via PS/2 port to Fanatec wheel. Connecting via USB to the PC solves the issue.

I'm already connected by the USB.

If you need help don't hesitate to ask, I can come up with a little write up tomorrow night with a couple of pictures if you need help.

Well I'm starting to lose hope on the Oval side of things, past 3 races ive had at Charlotte ive been taken out intentionally. Last race in particular i was leading and the guy just straight up shunted me out of the way. Think im just going to stick to road courses for now.

I guess they're mostly kids, though most irritating. I try oval now and then and I drive clean without any problems, but somehow I get knocked out because someone cuts me off or can't hold their line. So when ever I start from pits and don't go into any battle it's not a problem. A regular start often even beats me up before the green flag...

Edit;
Is anybody interested in a fun race? Somewhere this week or next, or when ever. My work won't let me have time for racing with my 'real' friends so maybe I can do some good with people from here.. :D

track one does it too, just not as bad as the c-spec, the thing I don't like is there's no mid corner rotation in the track one. if you hit the curb at the top of the corkscrew at Laguna Seca it hops the left front and sends you into an unrecoverable spin left.

I was bored and did a test session with the truck and Bathurst. That was a blast!

As you know, we have continued to work on the Ruf since we released it. Because many of you are likely planning on running this car in the first Road Warrior Series race we wanted to give you a heads up on what we are updating. These changes will have an impact on setups and driving. These updates will be available when the build comes out during week-13, just a few days ahead of the 2.4.
For the January release, the Ruf C-spec will have a number of updates from the preview release, including:
• Greater weight --> approx. 50 kg to hit realistic total.
• Less tire grip --> will slow car approx. 1-2 sec / lap. This was done to match realistic performance levels.
• Final drive option --> taller final drive for tracks with higher top speeds. This will change all shift points, and may alter the gear choices in some corners.
• Rear wing effect --> the lift and drag produced by the rear wing and gurney have been updated to be closer to realistic levels.

Yet nothing about making the car hop less and not flip over from taking a corner with slightly too much steering angle? Going to be an interesting 2.4

Ive heard that the baseline is awful for the C-spec, something about the ride height being way too high, all i did was find a basic setup someone did and i have yet to ever flip the c-spec.

Yeah, a good setup fixes the flipping problem, although it still bounces a bit. Seems to bounce less for me than the track version though.
