Got a question for you seasoned folks. If you crash. What is the best option. Last night I had gotten into a great battle for 7th place. Let it get to my head and over cooked the hard left headed up the mountain. So I insta pit to get out of the way and the car wasn't driving straight enough to allow people by with out racking off track incidents. So I say there for 10+ minites waiting to repair. I get out to make one lap and finish.

So did I do right. Should if just quit. I read above about DC'ing and coming back. Does the car start fresh with time penalty.

Thanks I advance.

Oh I was running 2:11's then manned up some and got into the 2:08's and then manned up again to knock down some 2:04's. There is more in me. However I can safely run 2:05-2:06's and not worry about crashing. Anytime I push it I'm on borrowed time at Bathurst. Very green here. The sound glitch on GT6 had me avoiding it. So no time there on the track. Hated it then was like not bad. Now I'm like this is a beast bit when your on its super rewarding.
I never like to DC because if I can get back out and do some more laps it is almost guaranteed I will salvage some iRating and maybe get some SR on the bag too, I will only DC if the repair time is longer than what's left on the race.

As well I'm hooked on the Street a Stock rookie races. It's so fun and relaxing.
I finally tried it last night. Only wrecked once, not bad, I'll do it again. I think it can be useful for my road racing, hopefully helping me loosen up and smooth out my inputs when I'm around other people.

P.S. yeah, I never DC on my own.

Oval 4 LIFE!! :D jk i do both. if you guys like the street stock go join xcal racing. All free tracks using the street stock. $5 to enter for the entire season and then it pays out after each race up to $8 for winning. 20 race season. last night was race 4. Go to www.xcalracing.com to see more.

Standard of driving in the GT3 series is still poor at best. First race at Bathurst. Started from the pits. Caught up to a group on lap 6. Big crash. Field kind of gets bunched up. The driver that spun waited for me, then decides he wants to rejoin the race just in front of me, and another 6 or so drivers. Absolutely pathetic. I spun in an HPD race on the second lap. I WAITED for the entire freaking GT field to pass me before deciding it was safe enough for me to move...

The split i was in for GT3 was fairly good, glad i decided to qualify right before the race which put me up in 11th so i felt i didnt need to start from pit lane. I did get spun but i waited till i saw a decent gap to spin it back around.

So far I've ran 3 races all in the McLaren, 2 of them have gone with 0 incidents and I crashed on my own right after Skyline pushing too hard to get to 3rd on the other one.
1st race I started 10th and finished 8th, 2nd race started 7th and ended up 26th with a DNF and 3rd race started 3rd and led from the 2nd corner to the flag. You really need to qualy for this one to get away from the mayhem.

Yea i believe if you start from pit lane your just prolonging the wreck your about to come up on.
Yup, specially if you are on the top half of the field on pace, you are just simply gonna' run into the mess...
So far T1 and T2 have been pretty good for me and everyone seems to be behaving on the mountain.

I'd be lucky to qualify at a low 2:03 so, I that would put me in around 20th with the top split that I am always in. Guess I'll do my 1 race for GT3 every week to get the Participation and focus on the HPD in Proto & GT since I've always been really competitive in that car.

Im sticking with proto/gt and the riley and just running the GT3 series for fun when i can seeing as i only own 5 or so tracks on the schedule.

I've been taken out 3 of 4 tries. 25% success rate isn't enough for me. I'm done with Bathurst for the weekend with GT3. I'm going to give proto GT a shot in the Ford though. I'll also run a grand am Riley DP race here soon too

Trying to upload my McLaren Set but it won't let me, maybe it'll help you get the last tenths...

Well my second race went terrible although EmptyBox was in it, sadly i was involved in a massive 15 car pileup at Forest Elbow and my rear wheel had about +40 degrees of toe out and after repairs it was still undrivable so that was the first race that ive straight up quit in awhile.

Sorry to read that man, hope you have a better race tomorrow.

Sounds like my most recent GT3 "race" First lap in the ascent up the mountain first and second tangle in T6 (Stupid place to pass!!!) Whole track blocked. I just barely touch a guy who swerved in front of me and that causes me to brush the wall. Now my wheel was at a 40 degree offset and undrivable with 16 minutes of optional repairs. Iracing must really be trying to sell the Ruf making it faster than the McLaren and making the McLaren's damage model as if it was made of paper mache

Have had 3 races this week in McLaren in GT3 challenge. Really seem to be struggling for pace in the race. In practice with a full fuel load I could do 2.02.5xx lap on lap but come race I'm struggling just to break the 2.03 mark . Haven't really done any overtaking just made up places when people wreck.

Quoted for truth !

The GT3 races have been OK for me but I decided to do a C spec race last night. First race I didn't qualify , started mid pack and drove into a mess at Forest Elbow. 6 minutes of repairs later , the car was driveable but a bit of a handful. I adapted and pushed on but ended up pushing too hard and finished myself off at turn 2.
After that I did a qualifier , gridded 5th in the top split but still decided to start from pits (stupidly) Came up on the some wounded cars and guess what ? Patiently following a guy down the hill who cared less if I was stuck behind him , he spins coming into Forest elbow and pushes me into the wall as I attempt to slip past. Same deal , sat out the entire 8 minutes of towing and repair. Car was horrible to drive but managed to log some laps and avoid dead last position and a big donation of irating :/

I guess I was due for some bad results , been having too many good ones :)

Recent bad luck continues. I spun on my own, again, in the HPD. Luckily I didn't have too much damage (About 1 sec slower a lap) and was able to continue on. 3 minutes to go, I'm coming down the hill, and my iRacing crashes. First time I've had that happen in something like 2 years.

iRacings been a bit iffy since this new update deployed. Pray that this new update we're getting tomorrow fixes things.

so... Who's gonna run WSCC with me this week? Its at the glen! In testing in down to a 1:41.2 in the riley so the top guys will probably be below the 1:40 mark

Will probably run the Ruf one night in it, probably Friday or Saturday.

I raced the srf there this week to get some track experience cause I had just bought the track. I'm really looking forward to the wscc this season because I have three more tracks to compete at now :D

I don't know if it was the camera angle, but it looked like that incident wasn't his first in that race. He clearly was blocking. I would protest if that guy blocked me like that

@Kamuifanboy he was just being a girl dog using dirty tactics to stay ahead, pretty dumb driving in his part when he very well knew you where there and he had the inside for the next turn... That idiot got exactly what he deserved! I hope you went on to win that race and that he kept on going backwards for being a moron!

I agree with above statements, there was no need for blocking like that at all. So you are ok in my book, he deserved it.... Now if this was oval racing blocking happens all the time.
And he turned into you, you held your line.

He def was blocking you. Which left you no choice but to pass him "aggressively". You was legal in that pass. While against say another clean racer would of been little shady but again legal. However this situation depended in the front drivers actions. As stated he was blocking. So back driver had to make more aggressive move to get by.

Front driver could of avoided the crash by rolling off the throttle knowing you had the run on him and you clearly beside him at the turn in point.

Honestly karma is b and he got what he deserved. No you didn't intentional nor was it your fault he crashed. But I'm glad he did after that block after the t1 long straight.

He would of been smart to let you by before going up the mountain and drafting to pass headed back down the long straight where this transpired. Essential he would of been ahead at the line. Foolish of him.

Ive been testing around this week and im basically at the same times you are.

I'm not sure there was an outright blocking, but he did a few dickish little movements after his major moves, meant to scare. Why on earth he decided to hug Kamui as tight as he did in that turn - I have no clue. That corner, otherwise, would'be probably ended with him still on the inside for turn 21. So, I agree, he got what he deserved, 100% his fault.
