hey guys, I would just like to have an opinions regarding if GT5 is worth trading for Uncharted 2 Game of the Year Edition...

I'm getting very bored of GT5 right now...

They're completely different genre's, but if you aren't having fun with GT5 then I don't see why you should hold onto it.

Uncharted 2 is easily one of my favorite games on the PS3, and provided you like 3rd person shooters, I think you'll really enjoy the game. It easily has some of the best voice acting and cut scenes of any game I've ever played.

Have you played the original Uncharted? If not, you're missing on out some of the characters, and you won't fully understand what is happening in the 2nd game.

so that means I have to play/buy the first game....so that's it, I'm gonna get my GT5 trade in-ed in monday....

Well you probably didn't get uncharted 2 because you wanted to play MP. You bought it for the story.

Both the Ucharted games are awesome (they are among my favorites), but I don't think they have as much re-play value as GT5.

Yeah, I meant that longterm its a bad trade, you could rent UC2 and finish it in a short period of time.

As above, UC2 is a great title well worth picking up but it's longevity once the story is completed is questionable. I didn't want to replay it, though I very much enjoyed it, others may have wanted to but not me at least almost because it was so good that replaying it I knew wouldn't replicate the same levels of enjoyment.

I went through it again just to get some of the treasures for the trophies but it was nowhere near as fun as the first play through was.
The multiplayer wasn't too bad tbh though a little limited. The one where you are lobbing the barrel thing about the place was the most fun :p

 yeah lobbing about the solid gold statue was good fun, the co-op missions in general were fun whereas the normal competitive modes got a little old quick mainly because the normal guns took forever to drop someone and then you'd get pasted by a power weapon in one shot. The gameplay just didn't suit to well, I think I only enjoyed what we played of competitive because of our usual banter shenanigans.

I agree... :D
Remember when that random joined us and he had like double our scores combined...?

 That guy must have hated us! To be fair though we got better reasonably quickly, and our statue throwing skills were far above his anyway and that is obviously what matters. Definitely recommend playing the co-op with a friend over the competitive multiplayer.

I think you are remembering wrongly... It was not until we saw him throwing it that we realised that it could be thrown.

He was throwing it all wrong though, I was throwing it immediately out of the tower I found it in aka the highest point on the map :D.

For me, I have different levels of fun with replaying both of these games - there are five difficulty levels after all and crushing is evil at times. Plus there's all the unlockable such as gravity-off and slow motion, mirror world and piles of different skins you can use.

UC2 is a good game, but as the second post pointed out, way different from GT5...

I love the level of detailing they get down to for the most part, the lighting is also spectacular... I replay the game once in a while just so I can admire the puzzles, level design, cinematics and rendering...all in story mode :sly:

Stealth killing never gets old.

I think MW2 is overrated, but that's a different story. I'd get GOTY as it's only $30 now and 50$ worth of DLC is included in there for no extra charge.

UC2 is the most over rated game of all time. I still regret trading COD4 for it.

I would say the complete opposite too actually.

I wouldn't trade GT5 in for it though, but if you can, you should buy Uncharted 2 too.

Uncharted 2 is an awesome game, me and my brother had a great time 2-manning the co-op missions. The single player campaign is beautiful and challenging on the hardest difficulty. Go for it.

Or you can wait for Uncharted 3, which is due to be released this year on the 1st of November.

well GT5 would've got a lower value by the time when Uncharted 3 is released...anyway I already trade-ined my GT5 for UC2 already...Money well spent!:)

Yeah but if someone hasn't played the first two, I would suggest getting them before Uncharted 3. :)

I picked up UC2 GOTY EDITION brand new for $34 including shipping off of ebay. GT5 is worth more than that!

not for me....mediocre damage and ai, jaggy shadows, standard cars, mediocre environment graphics (in non city race tracks), lack of body kits for premium cars, glitches and:

having NASCAR "CARS" doesn't mean you have NASCAR in game...
having JGTC/Super GT "CARS" doesn't mean you have JGTC/Super GT in game...
having WRC "CARS" doesn't mean you have WRC in game...
having Formula 1 "CARS" doesn't mean you have Formula 1 in game...

GT5 lacks the official rules of the respective motorsports in the game which makes the race experience "generic" perfectly like the previous GTs...

and many more dumb things in the game.....

All of that for 5 YEARS!

read what is printed at the back of your GT5 box..."complete racing experience"...complete lie...

and PD becoming communist is a big draw back....

that is why for me...GT5 isn't worth keeping unlike Uncharted 2 GOTY...Oh, and the co-op in the game is so awesome...

Wow this thread is sad. Uncharted2 is a must own game and the first one too if you like racing sim then GT5 should be your most played game. But yeah whatever makes you happy.

Is Gran Turismo 5 worth trading for UC2: Game Of The Year Edition? No, even if it's vice versa I'd still say "no" as I do not like trading my games in, but that's just me.

It doesn't seem like you have any more use for GT5 and you've stated you're bored with it, so you should trade it in. Uncharted 2 is a great game so if you like the type of game, you may enjoy it.

You asked the question and I gave the answer. "NO" it's not even remotely worth it. The UC2 multiplayer is TERRIBLE and the single campaign is so-so.
