In looking over the new DLC, I see that we're getting the 1988 Jaguar XJR-9 LM Race car.

I'm sure this has been brought up but I couldn't find anything (and if it's in the wrong forum, feel free to move it), but um....

Don't we already have this car? As standard.

So, in the DLC, we're getting 5 new cars and one upgraded from Standard to Premium.

Am I missing something? Does anyone care? I know it's not gonna stop me from picking up the new DLC packs, but what about you?

Other than paying for the upgrade, I'm not bothered by it per se. More curious as to A) will we have to buy any other Standards that are upgraded? and B) why wasn't the Veyron and a few other Standards upgraded first?

I'm still buying it because I'm a PD fanboy slut.

Yes, it's the same car. But it's more than "upgrading". The quality of Premium cars is so much better, that they probably had to do the car from scratch anyway.

Some Standard cars deserve to be Premium, like this one, but we can leave milions of GT-R's and MX-5's away. Just a few most important versions to be Premium, like we don't have the MX-5 NB Premium yet or the first GT-R from 1970's, but leave the rest behind. That's my opinion.

Is this the moment where complaint about Standard getting Premium treatment begins? Full-circle again?

Oh GTP, you're so funny

It's not like that ancient standard 3d model takes any credit from the work PD put in another premium model.

I don't know if they're going to update the standard model or if they're going to build a new model from scratch. But, to be honest, I couldn't care less, since it's the car I'm most looking forward to from the new DLC :)

Lol, yeah, I guess I started this, so my bad.

I do, however, hope more Standards get the same treatment. I cannot wait to drive these cars!

Like I stated in the Car/Track Modelling thread, I believe the modelling of Premium/Standard cars is based on the getting access to the car itself, and its designs.

Maybe they just happened to get some proper time to analyse this car to bring it to Premium, maybe that will happen with all of them?

We also have the Beetle (Not the Same One)But you get the Idea.

Now COnvert That Veyron

I have not played GT5 for about a month now, but i will still by the updates.

On standards to premium, I'd pay to get Honda EG6 and 93 Nissan Primera(Infinity G20) both with RM treatment.

They worked hard on that car, I think its normal that we got to pay for it. I found it very suprising that the DLC comes so short after the last one. Maybe Ill buy it. I did not bought the last one, so its time hehe...

I haven't even driven my XJR-9 yet, so to get it as a premium almost makes it a brand new car for me, if that makes sense.

The track and Aventador makes the purchase worth it for me. Don't really have an opinion either way about upgrading standards to premium. Although, I think I speak for many others when I say that they could have picked a more desirable car to convert to premium, like the Supra.

My thoughts exactly...
Here we go
:nervous:

Edit: after reading further... nice save OP 👍

and B) why wasn't the Veyron and a few other Standards upgraded first?

PD has to be able to get someone to loan the car out to them, so they can scan it. All of this stuff takes time and resources. Even if the Veyron was at the top of their list, that doesn't mean they are able to create a premium model of the car anytime soon.

In my opinion it's a far better DLC than the last two.

Car Pack 1 = A bunch of RM versions of cars already in the game and since there's already an underutilised RM option in GT Auto, PD had a damn cheek asking us to pay for it, also an X2011 which in all truth is a slightly modified X2010 and 3 karts of which the model was already there and the performance stats were changed slightly. Rip off.

Car Pack 2 = Yet another GTR, yet another Mini Cooper, 2 uninspiring VW's and a "free" Toyota GT 86. Bland in my opinion.

Car Pack 3 = Nissan Leaf, crap but at least it's new. VW Beetle, nice addition as the standard version is ugly plus it's a newer version. Aston V12 Vantage and Lamborghini Aventador, two new additions and fine ones as well. Mini Cooper Countryman, ok I suppose, I would have preferred the WRC version instead though. Jaguar XJR-9, possibly a sign that PD are going to upgrade a lot more standards and this car will look the dogs bollocks in premium form!

So basically it's a GT5 DLC pack where no short cuts have been taken and finally we'll be getting our moneys worth from a car pack. I'm really happy about this DLC.

Honestly, I thought they were going to upgrade the standards to premium for free, but I understand why they are charging it. They spent time and money creating the car in full detail. I'm just hoping they worked on the physics and sound.

i'm happy to pay for interesting cars like the Jag, and i personally don't care about the veyron, infact i sold mine, that car just does not interest me

It would put a huge smile on my face if PD with 2.03 gives us more cars to be RM'd, including the Toyota 86, the Nissan Leaf(RC) and the Mini(WRC). Man, I would just cry in happiness.

I don't want to go off topic but I hope they premium the Sauber Mercedes C9 soon.
