Not bothered about the opponents, I just jump in the best car I have that fits in with the regs, and get the money

If all you care about is money, then these races aren't even worth your time. There are much better ways to make it.

I won the Cape Ring and Clubman Stage Route 5 races with stock (no oil change , ABS1) Toyota CELICA XX 2800GT ‘81 ~160 BHP 1235Kg

The Cape Ring 2 lap battle has great potential for repeatability in terms of finding worst possible car that can beat it.
Alot like GT4 Endurance races: El Capitan

My car of choise = Honda Civic 1500 3door 25i '83 stock (oil change , ABS1) , IIRC 96 BHP 815 Kg (with a better , weaker AI lineup a win without oil change should be possible)

Another car in which I was able to win here is Nissan Silvia Q's (S13) '88 stock (no oil change , ABS1) 123 BHP 1090 Kg (This was pretty easy win because of the car's drivetrain being FR)

MadMax

I have 12 japanese 80´s road cars, all stock, prepared with an oilchange, motor rebuild and chassis restoration, so the cars are as close to new as possible. Tires are stock, Comfort softs.
Its loads of fun testing these cars in the 80´s event, it seems that more than one of them can win these races. Not by huge margins, but close and competitive.
You get to know the feeling and handling of each of these cars.

i went through them with every car that qualified, mostly just the 80s prize cars and i first entered them totally stock and raced and raced until i definitely could not improve on my places then moved onto the next car.

By the end id obviously golded all events but it was quite a lot more fun this way and some of the cars in stock form were very challenging, quite a few were so underpowered it was never possible to win but i kept restarting to see if i could improve on my positions.

I think the most fun was the isuzu 4200R, what a surprise that was, steer with the throttle all the way with that brute!

Ran this with a used 89 GTR. Oil change and computer upgrade otherwise stock. Way too much car for these courses. Won the first race by 20 secs.

Gonna re-run them tonight is something slower. Maybe an MR2 or AE86

I'm a big fan of the Motul Honda Civic race car, it handles so well.
I uses this one as well. But it is necessary to use the power limiter in order to create relatively challenging races. Besides, it is so much fun to drive the Eifel Kart track in this vehicle !

These two were fun. I upgraded just enough to be able to win.. lost quite a few races while adjusting upgrades.. Was all fun though.

I had a really awesome time doing the 80's events with my trueno. i forget which tires i used, but i slapped on some small mods like the intake filter and ecu, and then turned the power limiter all the way down to 50%, put me somewhere in the low 300s for points. very fun 👍

I used a 1988 Toyota Supra 3.0 GT Turbo A...

With the tires that came from the factory and fitted a bigger turbo for 262hp...

I used the RX7 GT Limited 85 for these races completely stock (its 386pp I think?) It was a tough battle, and for 2 races (Tokyo and Eifel) I had to add the Sports Exhaust and Sports Filter which bumped it right to 400 pp. Tokyo was just too high speed and the car too underpowered.

I bought a Skyline 2000 Turbo RS '83 last night...

... a car that is beautiful in it's own special way... :boggled:

I've beaten this seasonal a number of times with underpowered cars so sod it, I'm going to have some fun with this little honey straight out the box! :dopey:

Boat!

Goat! :boggled:

You know I'm a sucker for the two-tone look...

If only it was white and black! I tried one and found it really unwilling to turn in and a bit disappointing. I am tempted to find the 87 GTS-R though....

Yep, goats are a bit like that. Have you tried an alpaca?:dopey:

I heard they were quite woolly. Do I dare ask how you found a goat disappointing?

Slightly bald and used in places. I spotted it The Argus free ads!

Does this officially go down as a Thread Hijack? I'll bring it back on course by pointing out that I am going to run the 83 Skyline tonight... 👍

As the OP, I would like to go on record as having no qualms what so ever about this becoming a goat appreciation thread. That is all.

Honda S800 RSC Race Car '68...115 hp. This was a blast! It took each lap and forced me to be pretty sharp.
