After trying many cars at the 390PP level, I came to the conclusion that the MR2 was the best, but I still had to crank it to 400PP and get a good lineup for Tsukuba. The other races were easier.
Used this set-up myself (62.1% power actually was 191 HP for me), also ran with 128 MPH top limit because the car was hitting the limiter at 112 too early and killing the last straight speed. My Isuzu 4200R settings:

I'm sure there's a ton more time in this car with some fiddling, but this was a quick-n-dirty setup that got me through Tsukuba.
Car will be on shared status later tonight if anyone wants to play around with it.
I'll tell you what after winning gold in all the races my standard MX5 miata NA 89 is a WEAPON! I never thought this car had it in it.
I got lucky and got a race with no MX5 on tuskuba. I beat the MX5 the hard way on London.
I havn't been on to see people talking about the Tsukuba race, but while I spent 3 days trying to tune the premium 300Z to be able to beat this race, I knew for sure you guys were talking about it.
First off, if anyone from PD see this, THANK YOU!!!! That was great fun. I wish the other races were as challenging as the first.
I got that 300Z within 1.5 seconds of the leader when I crossed the line. I couldn't get any better, that was the limit of my skill with that car and my rudimentary tuning skills. And if it was the 2nd grouping of cars, it was even worse. But the one with one leader was my baseline.
Thanks for sharing, great setup for Tsukuba and London. I got easy gold, although I had good (the weaker) opponents. My Isuzu 4200R settings:

Thank you, this tune worked for me. In first place there was the honda civic 1500 3door and in second place the toyota corolla levin, I run all laps in 1:09 and I managed to catch the first guy in the last lap 3rd corner. For the Tsukuba race, I managed to win in the first two cars I tried out. The first car is the Premium Nissan 300ZX '89 with custom suspension. Average lap times for me were between 106.6 - 107.2, meaning I only just won on the last corner.
The other car was the older R32 Skyline.
Anyway, here's my set up for it if anyone's interested. I ran several laps in the 1:05's, making it an easy win. The car might be a bit slippery for some people, put 3rd gear is perfect for pulling out of the hairpins without wheelspinning, powersliding or bogging the engine down. I also saved the replay if needed for whatever reason.

Kwaziekellerwon pretty easy vs the city II turbo lineup with the 87 Mugen Motul Civic with this setup.. running slow 1:08's (hey, i still use a controller lol).... and I drink and drive on GT5 lol... So if I can do it... anyone can do it!
I really feel that it's lame that luck of the draw plays such a huge part in winning Tsubaka. Finally beat the race by 4 seconds with the City Turbo in 1st position. If a Mazda was in the first spot I couldn't do any better then 6 seconds or so.
Had a hard time like most of you until I used the Mitsubishi Starion Rally Car...won by 2.5secs when the Honda Civic 1500 3door 25i '83 was at the front of the grid.
Tsukuba must have a bug on this event... Will have to try again and again... and im running very low 1.08s and high 1.07s...
Which car is the best for Tsukuba?
Man I need to get that car. Roadster isn't working for me, I need a GTS-T...
