I used the civic there also and had to limit my PP as well. Try reducing the top speed all the way down, I think to 112 MPH. That way you go through the gears quicker and are always at a higher RPM.

Aside from adding whatever mods may be possible, keep changing the field. There will eventually be slower cars out front (one of the Honda's).
 
I finally beat it, i used the isuzu 4200R concept from the dealership, i got lucky and got the Accord up front, i just turn down power limiter to 420pp and put some CS on,

Tsukuba even with a full on 420 was ridiculous. There is something REALLY wrong with the Miata starting 30 seconds ahead and only being able to make up up 2.5 seconds a lap. I think someone at PD needs to rethink that one.!:ouch:

It's a hard one, but there are options for beating it, as discussed in this thread.

I hope PD continues to give hard races.
 
Hey I decided to have a bit of fun and have been running a Toyota Sprinter Trueno GT-APEX '83 at 420PP around the Mt Aso track looking to make the fastest possible lap with it.
So far my poor driving skills have only managed a 1:17.704 but I've been fine tuning the car.
Only ABS1 and Driving Line used along with an automatic transmission. (Told you my driving skills aren't great.:lol:)
Anyways wondered what sorts of times better drivers have been getting on this track?
Wouldn't want to race on it in real life, but its odd bumps and weirdly cambered corners make it an interesting Time Attack course in the game.:crazy::D

Edit: Best lap now 1:16.150

In fact, I think pd should make the other seasonals as hard. Test with an average driver like myself giving best effort over 3 tries at non customised max pp. Deduct a couple of seconds to give that extra challenge. Then only will the interest be sustained. Same for the gold time for time trial. Getting seconds below gold time in first attempt and knowing that top 5000 is out of reach hardly motivates further play.
The Ferrari formula and the recent Tsukuba are the only seasonals hard enough to get the interest up.

Try lowering your PP & make a race of it , only need 1.20 laps to beat the Miata on Mt Aso

Got all the credits I need and not trying to make a close race of it. Just trying to get the fastest lap I can on that track and thought others might enjoy the same sort of challenge.

I know I could win the race at much lower PP but this crazy track is great for trying to hotlap, especially once you've cleared the traffic.:crazy::lol:
 
Well as everyone already knows the winning "easy" combination is having the Mugen Motul for Tsukuba and getting a race with the City Turbo II '83 as the starting leader. If anyone needs it, I'm currently sharing the car online (Mikes5276), just send me a request if you need to use it. I was getting 1.08 low laps in it, and it's powered down to 172 HP and 420PP.

The easiest way would be to win the Clubman Cup for the Mugen Civic. It seems to be working very well for people, along with the 4200R, and Starion Rally car, which is the fastest I've used.

Dude, this setup is amazing! Worked perfectly for Tsukuba and London. Just used SRF to cheapen it a little. Thanks so much!

Also had the worst lineup possible I think with no miattas and not skyline.
 
I havn't been on to see people talking about the Tsukuba race, but while I spent 3 days trying to tune the premium 300Z to be able to beat this race, I knew for sure you guys were talking about it.

First off, if anyone from PD see this, THANK YOU!!!! That was great fun. I wish the other races were as challenging as the first.

I got that 300Z within 1.5 seconds of the leader when I crossed the line. I couldn't get any better, that was the limit of my skill with that car and my rudimentary tuning skills. And if it was the 2nd grouping of cars, it was even worse. But the one with one leader was my baseline.

It wasn't until last night, looking at my garage thinking WTF I can possibly do to beat this race, that I thought to actually read the race description and see that race cars weren't disallowed. The Mugen Civic was my first choice, but I think the last time I used it I was putting some extreme settings in to mess around. It wouldn't even turn and I was so sick of tuning for this race at that point that I just switched to another race car.

I initially beat the race with the Starion rally car. Oddly enough, when I switched to that car, I can't believe it.......I got this strange, super-easy 3rd line-up of A.I. The leader was a Civic like the Mugen one, a hatchback, but it was a regular car. It may not have been a civiv, but it LOOKED like the Mugen Civic. 1st thru 3rd place were all racing together the whole time and I had caught and passed them near the end of Lap 3, it was stock, all I did was turn down the tranny a bit.

It was the craziest thing. This was the hardest race I've ever played in GT5.....until it just wasn't. It was as easy as any other when I use the Starion rally car. You know, the yellow and black one with the rims I wish I could change.

Wow Mt Aso is awesome. I wish I knew the parameters to remake it in the course maker.

For the people who are saying that Tsukuba is easy in an MX5, that's because you got lucky and didn't have a really quick lead car. The lineup changes each time you enter the race (or rather cycles through several different lineups).

I used 210 hp and no kg in then ballast.just a good tune and smooth driving and traction control on 1
 
Got the City Turbo in 1st but i had to work harder because at sometime during the race the GT-R in 2nd passed the City but i caught him last corner and won by 2 sec's , had to run near 1:08.5 near back to back in my 89 Eunos.

What times have you guy's done on London (i love this race so much fun) had 3 Miata's starting in the top 3 grid spots :eek: and i won in my 85 Savanna 416pp with a best time of 1:05.009

Thought I give this a go as Mt Asso is one of my favorites , so I transferred your share car settings onto mine and had two races, the best I got was 1:16:525, getting the last right hander before the main strait without sliding too much needs a bit more practice. Nice setup on the Trueno.

The shared car is a 400PP Time Attack setup for the Nordshleife, the one I was using at Mt Aso is 420PP and has a few small tweaks to the suspension along with the extra power.:crazy:
 
I managed a win with 390pp with my Isuzu Concept at La Sarthe, thanks to a bit of corner cutting and surprisingly what looked like a crash on the map at the front of the pack!

A bit off topic, but has anyone noticed on the Classic Car Championship at how, on mount Aso, the AI seems to make a 12 second gap to 22 seconds in the first lap with perfect driving?

It's because after the first section, you're 12 seconds behind the 1st person to cross that line, not 1st place on track.
